Trouble importing .nam files in the Valeton gp-200

I’ve tried importing .nam files into my Valeton GP-200, but it gets stuck on the loading screen. I’ve tried everything but haven't been able to fix the issue; strangely enough, this error doesn't happen when importing IRs, which load without any problems. I’ve installed older versions of the software and firmware and tried using all kinds of .nam files, yet the problem persists. I’m at a loss—has anyone else experienced this issue? (I've tried with A1 and A2 files and none works)
I'm doing this on Win 11

From a Valeton GP200LT to plugins only... anyone else?

I've recently realized that I'm barely using the full potential of my Valeton GP200LT. At the moment, I pretty much only use the JCM800 amp model and a couple of ChopTones IRs.

Lately I've been trying several Neural DSP Archetypes, and honestly they've impressed me. They cover pretty much everything I play (mainly metal, punk rock, and hard rock), and they feel incredibly versatile.

Since I only play at home and never gig live, I'm starting to wonder if it even makes sense to keep the GP200LT. I'm considering selling it and switching completely to plugins.

Has anyone here gone down the same path? Did you end up using only plugins? Do you miss having a hardware modeler, or have modern plugins become good enough that you don't look back?

I'd love to hear your experiences before making a decision.

GP200 Setting Question

Recently got a GP200, I love it. I also have a VOX AC30 and I'm using this as a pedal tester and tone setup. So I don't have to push the AC30 to it's limits for OD and breakup.

Questions:

  1. I set up the 4 cable method but I'm trying to learn where to set the FX Input and Output arrows in the app to understand how to set this right. Any advice? Sorry if this has already been asked..

  2. I know I can also bypass the pre-amp in by going into the return only, but I wanted to know if I could set some tone patches for the 4 cable and then others to bypass and just go straight to the return to bypass the pre-amp, or am I hoping for too much?
Ex: I have one patch that goes pre-amp then a few settings returned through the FX loop. Then another patch that just bypasses the pre-amp entirely and comes through the return entirely.

High gain Hiss! I'm desperate

Guys, I'm cooked. When I listen to high gain tones on the Internet they always sound amazing! But when I try to create a high gain sound for modern metal, it always has a disturbing hiss that I can't take away either with the eq or a good IRs, low cut etc. I hope someone can help because I'm almost ready to send it back, sadly. Every high gain amp, high gain distortion, they always have this constant hissing sound that's similar to when you hear a distorted sound in front of a cab. Is anyone able to help me? Is it something common or am I the most unable guitarist in the world?

Please help ❤️

Is it worth buying a Valeton GP-150?

Hello guys, i'm planning to buy a GP-150 for recording and playing live in a small club. I saw some people said that this mfx pedal have the delay when switching presets. I really want to know your opinions or your experiences on this stuff. Thanks for spending a bit reading my post!

Valeton GP200 into PC and Reaper, bad sound

Hey folks,

I connected GP 200 to PC over USB, downloaded the ASIO drivers. I selected them on Reaper DAW correctly. When I record guitar with distortion, the sound comes out unbelievably bad, like crackling and fizzy all around. I tried disabling CAB to no avail.

Has anyone come across such issue? Advises are appreciated

I made a local web UI for training NAM amp models — WaveNet/A1 only, for hardware that doesn't support A2

Hey,

I built a small local tool with a web interface for training NAM amp models — the reason is pretty specific:

The problem:
Tone3000 (the most popular online trainer) now only trains A2 (SlimmableContainer) models. But a lot of hardware amp modelers — like the Valeton GP-50 and others — only support the classic WaveNet (A1) architecture. A2 models simply won't load on these devices, even though the file looks valid.

So if you own one of these devices, Tone3000 is no longer an option for you.

Repo: https://github.com/arturksd/NAM-A1-local-trainer

What this tool does:

  • Local web UI — no cloud, no account, runs on your machine
  • Trains WaveNet (A1) models only, deliberately
  • Uses neural-amp-modeler 0.12.2 — newer versions export the 0.7.x .nam format which many hardware modelers don't support yet. This stays on 0.5.x.
  • Select input WAV + output WAV, set epochs, pick a save location, click Start
  • Live progress bar with time estimate and ESR quality rating

Runs on: macOS, Linux, Windows

Setup takes a few minutes (Python, ffmpeg, nam 0.12.2, Flask) — everything is in the README.

If your hardware modeler doesn't support A2 and you're stuck, this might help. Happy to answer questions!
