Takeda turbo inlet question.

I’m looking at replacing my old Takeda turbo inlet with there new one. Is there a sound difference? Has anyone done the swap and know what the actual difference is? I already have the closed box intake without the acrylic top piece and side cover. New is fully smooth and old has the ribs on the outside.

Valvoline Restore and Protect

Hey folks! Just wanted to see who here uses the Valvoline R&P on their VNs? I’m thinking of using it in mine since i’m burning about half a quart of oil every 1500 miles, seen a lot of reviews of other people using it in their cars that are not VNs and are getting great results i’ve been currently using Pennzoil Ultra Plat 5w30 since 85k miles and now i’m at 136.6k. Any thoughts will be appreciated!

Front end shake

Hey folks, I noticed about a week ago that my front end shakes a little, kinda like a wobble when I’m braking and while driving at highway speeds over 50 mph. It gets a little bit more intense when I go over 65 mph. My mechanic’s gonna be looking at the car tomorrow, but I wanted some thoughts. I’m wondering if it’s wheel balancing that needs to be done even though it was done about four months ago. I took video of both sides inside the wheel well and I’m not seeing anything that sticks out. If anybody has experienced this please let me know. Thanks everyone!

Overheating issues

To all my mechanics or anyone knowledgeable, I’m seeking some help.

Back in March, my thermostat got stuck and I blew the feeder hose. Replaced all parts and refilled the radiator. Car had been fine until today. Upper radiator hose had a very small hole that caused a spill and to over heat.

Is it a bad hose? Not sure what I should look for or rule out once the hose comes in.

When I replaced everything, I also did an oil change to rule out any mixture.

Car is no longer under warranty, so dealership is out to the question.

I appreciate your time and any insight, thank you!

Random shake

Has anyone had a constant shaking under acceleration? At 60+ mph the is a constant shake from the passenger front… leaning towards the cab axle, but there is not huge play in the axle or signs of it going out. After letting off shake nearly disappears. Thanks PFA

3d printed BOV mod for Elantra N testing.

Working on this blow off valve mod for the Elantra n. It uses factory hardware, in factory location, and vents to atmosphere. It's pretty loud, and only about $2 to make.

I don't ever plan on selling the design, it will be free to everyone once I finish the project up.

I've been running mine for about a month, a couple other EN owners have also tested it for me, and all seems well.

As far as I can tell, this should also work for the VN. I'm just looking for someone to test this to verify fit and function.

Does anyone know if it should fit? If so, anyone want to try it out?

Drive Belts (parts and labor)

Good afternoon! 2022 Veloster N is just over 60k, and started to lose power on the road. Took it to the dealer Monday June 22 and just received a list of recommended actions. Out of everything, the only thing I see necessary (cabin and engine air filters I can do myself) are the drive belts which come out to $511.87 (estimate):

Parts:

#25212-2GGB0 BELT V $115.18

#25212-2GPA0 RIBBED BELT-V $85.63

Labor $295.00

Just wanted to know if this is a solid price or at the very least "decent". I am not looking for the best possible price and paying for a little convenience since its already in the shop is fine, but I don't want to pay way over. Thanks in advance!

I need some help with my build

2020 Veloster N MT PP

Have the Pure550 Hybrid turbo with the Kona N hotpipe ready for install. As well as a Carter downpipe.

Installed on the car already are upgraded injectors (the ones that say they add 12-15% more fuel or whatever). Upgraded fuel pump from shark racing, AEM cold air intake, BOV, oil catch can and the heat range 9 spark plugs (forget what they are called).

I am wondering about all the parts I need required to do this turbo install.

My end goal power wise is about 300whp for now as I don’t wanna replace the clutch anytime soon. And don’t wanna push more than 20psi if that’s fine with the turbo.

Thank you for your input

Veloster N Sport Light Bucket Seats

Any idea how much they cost and where I could get them from? I have the regular cloth buckets but I really like the light buckets that come with the Veloster N

2020 Performance Package

Good evening Everyone,

I just picked up a 2020 PP 6MT.

Traded in a 2017 mustang,

This car may have been a lease, one owner in florida, 11,081 miles, all service done to it with glove box having every single receipt and work done. Clean title.

I've already installed a Catch Can off the get go( I own a 2004 wrx wagon with AOS) i feel you can't miss it with a catch can as a PR measure.

Had my roomate who is a master tech with hyundai do a full inspection and report. Everything is green lit with no issues, oil changed the works.

Im looking into more reliable mods as its my daily

Im having a hard time finding an aftermarket radiator? Any brands or units with slight modifications?

Anything to watch out for? My roomate will be taking care of major intervals and assisting with installs.

Bought a car for the weekends and summer driving

I love this car, so much fun and love the space it has. Drove it 4 hours home in the dark and scared the shit out of myself coming from an old high mileage ford ranger manual it is definitely a different beast all together. Going to be my summer and weekend driver for fun. Loving it so far
