My grandma gave me “collector edition” Barbie’s for a few of the birthdays when I was between 5-8 years old. All I wanted was to play with them but my mom made me keep them in the box because they would “be worth something later”. Well… it feels like later, and I think they’re maybe worth like $15 or $30 each? Should I keep hold of them or let my daughter play with them and give her the gift to play with them.
Maybe I should just keep them in the box for another 30 years and pass on the generational guilt.

Hey everyone! I had a highly productive week in the restoration room and wanted to share the results of bringing these three gorgeous Mod-era girls back to life.I washed, conditioned, and completely reset all of their hair, finishing them off with factory-style clear cello face shields and pearl pins to keep those bangs and face-framing styles perfectly crisp.Here is the breakdown of the trio:

Left doll

1971–1972,Walk Lively Barbie (Model #1182)

This is a classic Walk Lively Barbrie wearing the ultra-rare 1968 "Snug Fuzz" fashion set. It features a wild psychedelic, multi-colored geometric print romper paired with an attached hot pink knit turtleneck top and a matching pink plush vinyl hood/collar.

1970 Side-Part Twist 'n Turn Barbie (Stock #1160)

Dressed in "Zandrina" (#1861)This gorgeous blonde is sporting the stunning 1968 "Zandrina" ensemble. It is a signature one-shoulder Grecian-style maxi dress featuring striking, diagonal Mod stripes in hot pink, orange, yellow, and chartreuse.

1968 Talking Barbie Head on a 1961-1967 Bubble Cut Body (The Hybrid)

This unique girl is a beautiful historical rescue! Her head is an authentic 1968 Talking Barbie #1115—complete with those exquisite, perfectly preserved rooted eyelashes. She is currently resting on a straight-leg Bubble Cut torso. To complete her look, I scored her original 1968 hot pink textured knit swimsuit top off eBay. It features the classic looped yellow and pink fringe trim at the hem.

I love preserving the unique history of these hybrid playthings while giving them the pristine collector treatment they deserve. Let me know what you think of the trio, or if you've restored any of these specific tricky Mod fabrics recently!

She is absolutely stunning, am not a big Midge fan….until now seeing this beauty!

Hii i bought 2 dolls from 12 dancing princesses from vinted for 5€.

Really good ! The seller was nice and fast. But they smell like cigarettes and they are so dirty. Their skirt are yellow/green and they have dirty mark on their body.

How can i clean that ? It's my first Time buying an unboxed doll.

As a second hand barbie collector, who's always is hunting for the deal, I quite literally hit the jackpot last night! All 5 of these dolls and more for under $100 on Goodwill lots. The lots have about 30 dolls in them apiece but these were my reason to get the lots!! A little back story for ya. I collect Steffie face dolls so this lot was unbelievable for me to get that cheap.

I have to say out of all the dolls being posted by dollattic.com, this is one of my favorites.

I’m going to my first ever doll show tomorrow. What advice would you give to a first time attendee?

Does anyone else have her? Mrs Beasley is missing her hands, but she has her iconic glasses. Any thoughts about how to make new hands?

After her night of drying with tape, we put her in straw rollers . She waiting for her original swimsuit should be here Monday😒 but while she waits she slipped into a Vintage 1983 Mattel Barbie Doll Fashion Fantasy #4810 Pink Robe.

The newest Steffie face in my collection 💕 I purchased her at a local garage sale naked for 5$🎉 her blue eyes are so striking and I immediately wanted to dress her in this 1991 teen talk barbie outfit. Her earrings are classic clone 90s earrings. I also had to pierce her ears to put them in 🫣 I can't believe she's 40 years old. Her hair is so soft still. Mattel just don't make her like they use to 😩🙃🫶🏼

Found this gem in a thrift lot online for a steal. When I first spotted her amongst the piled dolls, her bangs were pushed back with a rubber band. Making her appear as if she was bangless. She arrived today and to my surprise shes a 1968 talking barbie doll🎉🫶🏼 her body appears to be a earlier barbie. Marked barbie midge body. Even with this frankin doll I'm still thrilled. After getting her opened and washed I boiled dipped and set her hair into a mid height side swept pony tail. Laid her " side burns " and gave her a side swept bang. This dress was also in the lot I found her in. She'll be redress in mod era clothing but I wanted to just say how cute she looks in the 60s era dress with a clean ponytail. She currently is all tapped into place and drying over night. I'll update tomorrow with completed pictures
