I just picked up this vz61 from Atlantic firearms I keep getting failures to feed if I hold the magazine forward it's 100% reliable the magazine has a lot of play in it is this a magazine issue or something else? I was shooting winchester white box
This was a blast to open so much detail in the box design and layout definitely glad I picked one up

A cursory search of google brings up 3 different addresses, which is confusing. The manufacture also doesn't list their address anywhere (that I saw) on their website. They also don't open till 9am PST - I'm on a time crunch.

My max arms kit came in today. Overall very happy with the quality. Trigger guard was intact and both mags that came with it are nice.
Installed the barrel real fast and snapped a photo. Was praying that the kit would be blued and not gray. The gun gods answered.
I just completed the assembly of a Kvar parts kit with a Czech Point lower. Got my sbr stamp and am just waiting for availability of a threaded barrel to go with my ccx-9 (got it on sale locally... definitely worth what I paid).
Anyways, as the title says - I've got extra parts. I assume they're from the original full auto lower, but how do the steel pieces fit with the trigger group? I couldn't find a diagram of the original layout
Now just the last bit of sanding and finishing.
Once my upper comes back from the engraving it will be go time!
First of all, I cleaned both the barrel and internal trunion fully. Checked for burrs, polished out a couple spots I thought would be problematic. Gave the barrel and trunion a light coat of oil.
Next I froze the barrel for several hours.
I used the bolt to slide hammer it in place to start it. Then it stopped moving. I broke out the ball peen hammer and a thick nylon rod I use to hammer things in place with. It moved a little more but stopped. Next I broke out the 3 pound sledge and it moved a bit more but not enough.
I am using a large deep socket that fits over the barrel and layers of electrical tape to protect the finish, and the anvil portion of my bench vise to hammer on.
So internally it appears as if the barrel is seated with the collar sunk into the recessed ring in the trunnion, however the pre drilled pin notch (surplus barrel) isn't lined up by an 1/8" yet and the charging knob holes are about the same to the end of the channel.
I'm about to go buy a press, but before I do that, do the surplus barrels ever not line up and need to be redrilled?
I’ve been eyeing this for a few weeks but I don’t wanna buy garbage ammo and tear up my vz61s internals. TIA.
This is my first build and I’m at the last step and that’s getting the barrel in and pinned. I was using the bolt as a slide hammer but it needs a tiny extra push. I’ve tried putting the barrel through a hole in my welding table and using a socket and extension to hammer on the back of the bolt. Still can’t get it all the way. It’s a pre drilled or notched barrel. USA made of course, I’ve heard those have issues. I’m thinking about hammering the pin in and hoping it works but I don’t think that’s a great idea. Need some advice from someone who’s used the pre notched barrels.
I'm not interested in welding a receiver back together or a 3D printed one.
That said, is it worth it to put one together or should I just buy a finished product? Any builders to avoid?
I had my dovetail adapter plate and stock adapters printed out of stainless. Still need to drill out the holes I left undersized, tap the 4 holes on each stock adapter front, and use a dovetail file on the undersized dovetail. I figured it was better to finish those myself than risk them coming out too large with the printing process. I'm going to experiment with Birchwood stainless steel blackener to make the parts a bit darker.
In my extensive search tonight, the only threaded barrel i can find in stock is the RTI one for $130.
Is this the only thing available right now?

Hey I received my rti barrel today I believe install was successful without the need of drill press or freezing but I have attached some photos to see if everything looks okay. And pin was kinda hard to get in but I was able to fully push it in will probably come out we th a few rounds how can I prevent this with basic tools. I will be picking up my tortort lower tomorrow can’t function test with lower install at the moment but I believe everything looks okay right.?
Hey vz crew. I'd like to snag a threaded barrel kit for a spare receiver. What's the consensus of the best threaded barrel 32acp kit to run with? I saw a few threaded 22 kits out there as well. Thanks!
just a fyi center fire systems raised the price on their tortort receivers. and no there still out of stock at the moment
