I was wondering if anyone has already dealt with this common problem of rain drains on these w201. I am looking to buy one and almost all of them have this and I would like to know how bad it is and if it is an expensive fix ?

First start after sittin for about 6 years. Took a while to start I didnt drive it of course I just wanted to be sure the engine ran, it didn’t start at first because the fuel pump relay was bad but after temporarily bridging a connection on the relay I was able to start it. My next move is to deeply clean the engine bay and start replacing the fuel system . Bringing it to Reddit to get sum ideas on where to get parts OEM and aftermarket and also any thing I need to be focusing on when it comes to restoring back to driving condition and then later down the line adding power

Is it normal that it is disconnected?? The car is overheating a little bit and I don’t know if that’s normal

This should have been the first project when I got the car last year.

My passenger window won't come down. I guess it's the window motor that's dead (I can only hear the switch working).

Any suggestions? (How to replace the motor/assembly, what to buy, tips, etc)

Hello, I have problem with odometer thst if its hot it is not working at all. I have managed to get to gearbox for odometer and looked into it. When I insert acu-screwdriver and turn it on the axis is turning. I was able to see it by marking it (2nd and 3rd photo) but the gears with numbers are not turning. It seems like the trip odometer is dependend on the whole odometer so culprit is somewhere there. Could you help me or give advise?

I (190e 2.3) am trying to gain advice on what I should buy and where from if I want to do an entire suspension and foundation replacement. My 1992 190e has 250k miles on it and is honestly in great condition for what I got it for and what it is. But regardless, This means I want to replace control arms, new springs or perhaps coilovers, joints, bearings, sways; the whole thing. Is it safe to replace one thing at a time while dailying my 190e? What should I worry about the most when it comes to suspension? Are suspension kits a safe buy? They go for about $500 and they come with 190 control arms, ball joints, and all the hardware needed.

Or is just throwing on some high quality coilovers enough to not worry about my suspension and foundation?

Just looking for general advice if anyone is educated on it

Everything is finally installed and running.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure how well a setup like this would work in a sedan, but the bass comes through into the cabin way better than expected.

At higher volume the whole trunk lid starts flexing like it’s made of water. 😂

Definitely one of the craziest upgrades I’ve done to the car so far.

What started as a cardboard template and a rough sketch is now a fully working system.

More upgrades coming soon for the 190E project. 😎

Small update on my 1989 Mercedes 190E project.
After building the custom trunk floor in the last update, I finally started wiring and installing the audio system.

The setup is a Hifonics ZX-12 Dual powered by two Soundigital 800.1 EVO5 amplifiers. I ran the power cable on the driver’s side and the RCA/remote cables on the passenger side to avoid interference.

Still some finishing touches left, but seeing everything come together after starting with a simple cardboard template feels pretty satisfying.

Next update: the finished system in action. 😎
