Great WNBA Moments: Mabrey Fills the Crash-Out Jar, Then Chats With Arike, Immediately Scores

This short clip encapsulates so many things I love about this league and these players.

  1. Arike and Mabrey have a minor collision. Arike gets called for the foul after a challenge, but Mabrey gets tech'ed for dropping a huge New Jersey f-bomb after
  2. During and after the technical free throw, Arike and Mabrey have a whole conversation about what actually happened and who the foul should be on
  3. The conversation becomes so animated that the refs try to step in. But the players are fine and wave them off
  4. Mabrey then tries to physically demonstrate how the foul went, causing the refs to think a fight is breaking out 😂
  5. A whistle blows, causing both players to be exasperated. A ref then loudly says "knock it off!" in the voice you'd use to get 3rd graders to quiet down in class
  6. Mabrey immediately calls for the ball, goes straight at Arike and scores 😂

This game has been electric so far, and the individual personalities make it so much fun to watch. The crowd is following (and loving) all the little interactions.

How much grace do you give a head coach?

How much room does a head coach get, whether they’re new or been around a while, before you start questioning if they’re the right one for the team’s future?

And when you decide this coach has to go, what tipped you? How do you separate that from just being frustrated after a bad week?

Rhyne Howard Sees Disaster Coming, Saves Both Allisha Gray and Cecilia Zandalasini

https://reddit.com/link/1unfvn4/video/m2ya2w0b69bh1/player

Rhyne deserves a superhero cape for this one. Lish's smile had disappeared, and the South Carolina was about to come out — but Howard saw her friend, knew immediately, and literally flew in and saved the day.

We rarely ever see Lish crash out on another player, so Rhyne probably knew that it was better to get ahead of this one. But that's what friends are for 😊

Still That Girl: Breanna Stewart Drops 36 Points on 73% FG With 7 Rebounds in a Statement Game

In case anyone had any doubts: Stewie is still That Girl 🔥

A blistering performance from her last night, straight from the opening tip. NY is looking fairly scary as a team — with alternating showcases from Stewie, JJ, and Sab, and a talented supporting cast in Fiebich, Astier, Han, etc.

As the season starts to take shape, Breanna’s performance will be key to how things unfold for them moving forward.

Caitlin Clark Says Reffing Should Improve, But Continued Discourse and False Narratives Over the Foul Damage the League

Very nice statement from her that covers a lot of ground. She basically says that she feels the foul was rightfully deemed a flagrant, but that people need to move on.

She explicitly requests that people stop demonizing and attacking the character of her coach, her teammates, and other players.

Hopefully the fanbase is listening.

We can't find a picture of A'ja Wilson and Kamilla Cardoso now? Splash screen using AI during game

Found in the Chicago v Aces game, wife noticed that A'ja and Kamilla looked wrong, like different people and then realized it was AI. Try to read "A'ja's" jersey. Pretty disappointing to see in a broadcast
