Going to Purchase a PDP: Poly match or Full size +upgrades?

Looking at getting a PDP and was considering the poly Match. But looking at the specs of the PDP full size, aside from the mag well, DPT and slide cuts are there any other differences?

My thought is $1k for the Match at my LGS, I haven't asked about the Full size but the MSRP is close to half. Am I missing something or would purchasing the Full 5" and the DPT separately make more sense?

Walther PD380 first date.

I bought this puppy a few weeks ago, but wasn’t able to shoot it until today. I LOVE it. Crisp trigger, almost no recoil and accurate.

Anyone else disappointed with the Viridian RFX-11 on a Walther PDP?

I recently tested the Viridian optic on my Walther PDP Compact and honestly came away pretty disappointed.

Main issues were durability, clarity, and overall confidence for EDC use.

Curious if anyone else has run one—did I get a bad unit, or have others had similar experiences?

I made a short video showing what I ran into if anyone wants more detail.

I have a 1942 Walther PPK (32 acp)

Presumably used by either soviet police or a Russian soldier in WWII. Any help tracking down the origin of this piece? I figured since there were family pictures in the handgrip of the gun that it was most likely used on the Eastern front by a Soviet soldier.

She looks and feels HUGE!

Full size 4.5 poly
Burris Fastfire E
ZRT V spec spring
X300 rep

Shoots great, makes me feel like a better shooter than I am. Coming from a Glock 23 and a ramjet p365 so it’s a really soft shooter to me.

Is there secret sauce in the PDP Match SF DPT compared to other DPTs?

I was fortunate enough to snag a PDP 5" Match Steel Frame on Gunbroker. I've owned, at different times, two 4" compacts (including one that I sent to Walther to have a DPT installed), a Pro SD Compact, Pro SD Full-Size, and now this new 5" Match SF.

The trigger on this new Match SF is noticeably better. It's lighter, and the break is super clean. Someone posited on WaltherForums that Walther hand-tunes/QC checks the Match SF triggers before they leave the factory. Is this true? Even among the various PDPs I've owned, this one takes the cake.

Newly acquired! But maybe an unpopular opinion.

Maybe an unpopular opinon but I feel the build quality of my q5 match sf pro is better than the new pdp match sf. I really like the pdp and can’t wait to shoot it but just wonder if they plastic-ed up a little to much.

I really like the size of the grip and feel of the gun. I’ll need to put in a red overwatch trigger return spring to lighten it up a bit and some gridlok lok grips for better gripping and long stroke spring but overall pretty good so far. Can’t wait to get to the range tomorrow.

Tell me what you guys think of the build compared to the q5

Q5 MATCH STEEL FRAME

I'm going to be doing some work on my q5 steel frame. Is the performance dynamic trigger the best trigger option?

I'll doing the trigger and porting for sure but wonder what else I can add to increase performance? Ive been looking at Springco for the recoil system but I'm wondering what competition guys are doing? Are there internals worth upgrading? I've seen a little about disconnector work but I'd love to hear from you guys.

Magazine options? (PPQ Q5 Match)

Any luck with other Walther magazines compatibility for a PPQ era Q5 Match? Would like more mags with more capacity than 15.

Found this little gem

Swung into a shop today. Seen this under the counter. Family had found stuffed under clothes when the father passed away. 99.9 sure it's unfired. 1968 model.

My first Walther. 5.1” PDP Pro SD. 6 days from order to in my hands from ExpertVoice

Was shocked that this showed up today after ordering on Thursday and it saying 90-120 days. A full size 9 was missing from my collection, after feeling the trigger at the LGS decided this was the one. Threaded barrel was a must as I’ll be printing a Form 1 suppressor for it. Holosun SCS PDP on the way as well.

Was pleasantly surprised to find out this has 3x20rd mags instead of 3x18rd mags. Didn’t know that was a thing for the Pro SD

Steel Frame is Best Frame

Already the proud owner of a PDP Pro SD Full size, just added the compact pro steel frame. What a gun. If you've owned or shot both you know what I mean. It's perfect!

Now just to add a nice OWB holster and a streamlight TLR7-X.

She's home after 10 days in jail

Stock Commiefornia version. Took her straight to the range and put about 100rnds through her.

4.5 or 5" for USPSA CO

Hey all, im about to take the plunge. Im a shadow 2 shooter in USPSA. Still new, just B class at the moment. I bought a 4.5" PDP compact as a carry gun and it points so naturally, that I think I want to sell off some stuff and buy a steel frame to shoot matches with. What are the pros and cons of 4.5 vs the 5" match specifically for matches? My shadow is right in between the two sizes and it feels pretty long.

Thanks!
