Recommendations - New to Walther, Not New to Guns

Got my tax refund. And I finally wanna dive into Walther PDP ownership. I have history with and own Berettas, HKs, CZs, Rugers, S&Ws. Striker fire and hammer fire.

Had my eye on the PDP Pro-X PMM. But also maybe going all the way to the SF Match.

Anyone have good recommendations for a first foray into the PDP LIFE ©️?

Pro SD in its final form

Didn't think I could love this gun any more, but damn, it looks cool with a suppressor. Can't wait to try it out this weekend!

Subcompact CCW alternatives

I’ve been carrying PDPs for the last 3 years, bouncing between the 4” Pro E, 4.6” Pro SD, 5.1” Pro SD, and the SF Match. I still plan on carrying them daily, but I’m considering adding something smaller for times when I’m not wearing a belt — mainly for the gym or late-night dog walks.

Right now I’m considering the 43X MOS, P365, Shield X, or even the outdated PPS M2. I’d like to keep the option of running an optic out of the box.

What would you guys suggest?

Picture for attention.

I don't like my PDP PRO X PMM

Outside of the pure shit and honestly embarrassing QC given the price. Plus the Questionable fit and finish.

I do not like my PDP PRO X PMM. Trigger is heavy and mushy. Especially compared to my other 7 pistols. Also the bounciest Comp/Ported 9mm I've ever shot.

The Grip? baby got back. I had to use the slim backstrap. Who's fucking hand is curved like a hill?

I've bought a lot of guns before holding or shooting them. Usually turns out good. I'll probably be using Walter's legendary return policy. But I've already been scorned by their legendary QC

I wanted a striker and went for the "King". I'll be sticking with hammer fired.

That's my spoiled cry baby take lol. But honestly it's just not for me.

Bought for $399 with a Safari Land holster. How’d I do used gun shopping?

Excited to try this one out. Found it at Bass Pro Shop of all places. It came with the safari land (level II/III ?) locking holster. I feel like I made out like a bandit.

The new 🧊 👨🏾 5in SF

New baddie 🔥😜🔫. Bought her a vspec and LSGR 2.0. Installed the long stroke and gonna run it like that until (hopefully never) encounter a problem. Also has LOK GRIPS BOOGIES. Replacing my P320 MAX. Love the 320 but just got to be careful these days. Let’s see how it compares to my 2K11 or fusion XP comp. 🫡 #5in.SF

New Every Day Carry

Sold my old carry (tricked out xmacro) and was able to get this ole girl with 2 x 15rnd for $500. With the extra cash I also got an owb holster, an iwb holster, tlr7hlx, and 3 x 18rnd mags.

My first trip at the range showed that I already shoot this better than my Sig.

Which ZR Tactical Guide Rod for 5” PDP Match Steel Frame?

I’ve seen multiple recommendations on ZRT guide rods for my 5” Match. Which one do you recommend between the Long Stroke and the VSpec? That’s the two I’ve seen recommended most. My main use for this gun will be a lot of tactical training classes, a range gun, and possibly some home defense if it’s needed. I have other options for home defense so it won’t be the primary function for this gun. I have also thought about doing some comp stuff here and there.

Modifying guide rod

Has anyone ever tried modifying the stock recoil spring. I removed 5 coils from the spring assembly. So far so good, no issues with RTB and less snappy.

Holsters For Suppressor Height Sights

Looking for recommendations on holsters for my PDP Pro SD Compact w/4.6 inch threaded barrel. Just recently installed Night Fision Stealth Series suppressor height sights and didn’t realize my current holster does not accommodate the new sights. Any suggestions for both IWB and OWB holsters?

Which of these 2 guide rods are people using?

I keep hearing online that the 15 pound spring is the best one from ZR tactical. However, their website only shows these captured guide rods (the V and D springs) but they don’t specify weight. Ben Stoeger pro shop sells an uncaptured 15 pound ultra mass guide rod and spring. Is this the one people usually refer to?

I have a 4 inch full size frame pdp. Just looking to improve recoil impulse slighty without losing any reliability.
