600 pts battle march list help?

I’ve got this list drafted for a local GW battle march 5-game tourney:

Spellsinger — General on foot, Level 1, Heartwood Pendant, Talismanic Tattoos — ~130pts
5 Glade Guard — arcane bodkins, Lord’s Bowman — ~76 pts
5 Glade Riders — Trueflight Arrows, Musician— ~107 pts
5 Wild Riders — Wild Hunter,Standard Bearer, Musician, — ~165 pts
6 Dryads~78 pts

I’ve got a few points to make up the rest of the points list, just wondering what else I should take/buff up. I can only take one special and one rare unit each

Army showcase

I have been working on these wood elves for about two years now. Some older models in there such as older wardancers and "Skarlocs Wood Elf Archers", but the bulk of it are the newer plastic kits.

All c&c is welcome 😃

Would people like a bunch of new free Armies of Infamy ?

This is some homemade stuff, trying to emulate the armies of infamy in the arcane journals.

I have plenty of ideas, i'm thinking to make a composition list along with 3 Special Rules for very army of infamy.

My goal is to make at least 1 AoI for each Core faction (aside from Grand Cathay maybe, because historically they don't have so much lore or miniature range to draw from). I will try avoiding adding new units to avoid imbalancing the game, I don't think I will ever add magic items, standards or new lores for similar reasons.

I'm really interested in community feedback, I'm not going to play dedicated armies of infamy for every ToW core army. I know some people in the community have very specific ideas of what should be released as new composition lists, and i'm a bit of a people's pleaser.

For now I have mocked up the following armies: Spirit Kindred, Spawn of Morghur, Cult of Ulric, Hosts of the Dark Gods and Savage Waaagh!

Any feedback or C&C is welcome and most wanted :)

Warhawk Riders

I’ve yet to play a game of Old World, but as an Old Man myself, I’m using to fill a 3rd Edition WFB nostalgia hole. I’m looking at paying more than I should on EBay for old metal Warhawks and wondering if they’re actually any good in the game? I’m very much a rule of cool player and happy to lose with a fun army so it’s not a big issue, mostly just curious.

List advice

Hi all,

I’ve only played 2 games before, but have a 1500 pt game coming up that I want to build and paint towards (vs dwarves). I was thinking something like this:

Wood Elf Realms Grand Army [1496 points]
Wood Elf Realms

==== Characters [665 points] ====

Treeman Ancient [325 points]
- Oaken Fists & Strangleroots
- Aboreal Armour
- General
- Level 4 Wizard
- Battle Magic

Glade Lord [340 points]
- Hand Weapons
- Asrai Longbow
- Light Armour
- Great Stag
- Helm of the Hunt
- Crown of Antlers
- Charmed Shield
- A Befuddlement of Mischiefs
- An Annoyance of Netlings
- Wild Rider Kindred

==== Core Units [456 points] ====

12 Glade Guard [189 points]
- Hand Weapons
- Asrai Longbow
- Vanguard
- Arcane Bodkins
- Lord’s Bowman (champion) [Hand Weapon, Asrai Longbow]
- Standard Bearer [Banner of Midsummer's Eve]
- Musician

6 Glade Riders [144 points]
- Hand Weapons & Cavalry Spears
- Asrai Longbow
- Ambushers
- Hagbane Tips
- Elven Steed
- Glade Knight (champion)
- Standard Bearer
- Musician

7 Deepwood Scouts [123 points]
- Hand Weapons
- Asrai Longbow
- Hagbane Tips
- Lord’s Bowman (champion) [Hand Weapon, Asrai Longbow]
- Standard Bearer
- Musician

==== Special Units [160 points] ====

3 Tree Kin [160 points]
- Hand Weapons
- Hardwood Flesh
- Elder (champion)

==== Rare Units [215 points] ====

Treeman [215 points]
- Oaken Fists & Strangleroots
- Aboreal Armour

Exported from 2nd in Command: The Old World

Thinking is:
- tree kin and treeman are anvils
- lord on stag and treeman ancient are swords (big charge and powerful spells respectively)
- glade riders in reserve to try surprise back lines from ambush
- glade guard get a vanguard move to get range or LOS to army and then stand still for better BS
- deepwood scouts harass and pick at flanks

And the glade guard and glade riders are at unit size for objective scoring.

Appreciate any advice!

New magic items look realy good for Wood Elves

The new Common Magical Items from March of Chaos have leaked and there are some gems that seem designed for wood elves. These are the ones I like most:

Weapons:

Hunters Scorn 20pts. Range 30, S5, AP-1AB1, Multiple Shots (2). Reduces enemy model/units initiative by 1 if you wound enemy with 2 or more wounds (duh). If you fail, effect is lost.

Armor:

Scale of False Promise 35pts. Heavy Armor. +1 T & W but gain stupidity. If you suffer from stupidity during the game, you will roll with +1 to the roll in future. Infantry or Cavalry only.

Mantle of Drifting Shadow 20pts. Light armor. You cannot be targeted by shooting or spells more than '6' away. Gain +1 M & Loner. Infantry only

Talismans:

Amulet of Spell Attraction 25pts. Once per turn, if friendly unit with command range is target of a Hex/Magic Missile, the spell is redirected to you if you pass a leadership test.

My thoughts:

- The Scale of false promise looks fantastic in a lord on great stag (2+ armor save, T6 and 5W)

- The Mantle of drifting shadow could change the waystalker's viability completely. For 20 it protects him from almost everything if you keep him out of charge range. You can give him this armour and the new bow and it seems decent for 125 points

- The Amulet of Spell attraction seems like a pretty good defense against magic missiles if you put it on a dragon or great stag character.

This time, I feel the new magic items list will benefit more our army than others.
