Warning and 40 Watt sun albums ranked

Hello! Sorry for dominating this page but i'm very obsessed with these 2 bands at the moment, i have spent the last month listening to 40 watt sun and this is how i would rank the albums. There is no bad album here

  1. Perfect light. I like all of the 40 watt sun and warning albums but this one feels the least impactful for me, maybe the lightest album, doesnt create as much as a soundscape as the others but still great songwriting (i had to listen to this from a youtube playlist as they werent uploaded on qobuz or youtube music so that might have impacted my score)7.5/10

  2. Little weight. A shorter tracklist which is nice, these tracks didnt stand out AS much to me, nice fuzzy guitar tone, sometimes its a bit overbearing and covers over patricks vocals. Still really enjoyed this one though 8/10

  3. The inside room. The most doomy of their albums i would say, very reminiscent of the warning material, and it fits in great. I have a feel this one will grow as time goes. (i had to listen to this from a youtube playlist as they werent uploaded on qobuz or youtube music so that might have impacted my score) 8.5/10

  4. The strength to dream. Such a beautiful album, i think this is warnings most varied album, so many different memorable moments while still remaining great traditional doom. Return is very candlemass in vocal style, i feel as though patrick hadnt fully found the sound he wanted yet. The production hasnt reached peak yet, but of course there is something to love about the more raw production. 9/10

  5. Wider than the sky. The first album i heard from 40 watt sun, i went into it thinking "will any of these projects match up to the warning stuff?" Its a hard thing to match but i think most if the material stands beside the warning stuff. Of course not as heavy as warning but still as beautiful, sad, heart wrenching, fantasic material. 9/10

  6. Rituals of shame. Normally when a band makes fans wait 20 years for an album it doesnt go too well. Its very hard to satisfy that level of expectations but this album does that, easily my favourite album of 2026, such good flow from one track to the next, patricks voice hasnt aged since watching from a distance. Its very hard to choose a favourite track on here but i think the intro for me, setting the album up with such a great start. 10/10

  7. Watching from a distance. I know this is the basic pick to put at first but this is my favourite album of all time, after about 3 years of listening to it on and off it kept creeping up higher and higher. I often say faces is my favourite song of all time as its the most bang for the buck, lyric dense one but every song on here is perfect, within the first few seconds of the intro track you get set up for how heavy and doomy this album will be, footprints is so beautiful too, it makes me want to cry hearing it, this whole album does, its so wonderful. Then somehow echoes ends the album on the saddest note so far. I love this album, i love this band, i love patrick as a songwriter. Amazing. 10/10
