Just listened to this for the first time, really enjoyed it, what do you guys think of it?
Finally finished the blondie discography and in my opinion its easily the curse of blondie but id be interested in hearint what everyone else thinks
Hello! Sorry for dominating this page but i'm very obsessed with these 2 bands at the moment, i have spent the last month listening to 40 watt sun and this is how i would rank the albums. There is no bad album here
Perfect light. I like all of the 40 watt sun and warning albums but this one feels the least impactful for me, maybe the lightest album, doesnt create as much as a soundscape as the others but still great songwriting (i had to listen to this from a youtube playlist as they werent uploaded on qobuz or youtube music so that might have impacted my score)7.5/10
Little weight. A shorter tracklist which is nice, these tracks didnt stand out AS much to me, nice fuzzy guitar tone, sometimes its a bit overbearing and covers over patricks vocals. Still really enjoyed this one though 8/10
The inside room. The most doomy of their albums i would say, very reminiscent of the warning material, and it fits in great. I have a feel this one will grow as time goes. (i had to listen to this from a youtube playlist as they werent uploaded on qobuz or youtube music so that might have impacted my score) 8.5/10
The strength to dream. Such a beautiful album, i think this is warnings most varied album, so many different memorable moments while still remaining great traditional doom. Return is very candlemass in vocal style, i feel as though patrick hadnt fully found the sound he wanted yet. The production hasnt reached peak yet, but of course there is something to love about the more raw production. 9/10
Wider than the sky. The first album i heard from 40 watt sun, i went into it thinking "will any of these projects match up to the warning stuff?" Its a hard thing to match but i think most if the material stands beside the warning stuff. Of course not as heavy as warning but still as beautiful, sad, heart wrenching, fantasic material. 9/10
Rituals of shame. Normally when a band makes fans wait 20 years for an album it doesnt go too well. Its very hard to satisfy that level of expectations but this album does that, easily my favourite album of 2026, such good flow from one track to the next, patricks voice hasnt aged since watching from a distance. Its very hard to choose a favourite track on here but i think the intro for me, setting the album up with such a great start. 10/10
Watching from a distance. I know this is the basic pick to put at first but this is my favourite album of all time, after about 3 years of listening to it on and off it kept creeping up higher and higher. I often say faces is my favourite song of all time as its the most bang for the buck, lyric dense one but every song on here is perfect, within the first few seconds of the intro track you get set up for how heavy and doomy this album will be, footprints is so beautiful too, it makes me want to cry hearing it, this whole album does, its so wonderful. Then somehow echoes ends the album on the saddest note so far. I love this album, i love this band, i love patrick as a songwriter. Amazing. 10/10
I personally love it, it took me months to realise the red port on the bottom fast charges it so my only complaint about it being slow to charge was user error 🤪 have about 600 albums listened to on this bad boy so far
You heard me big boy
I was banned for asking "which subreddits have the worst mods?" free speech be damned i guess, anyone else been banned from there?
What do you guys think of this album? A lot of the reviewers dont enjoy it. I thought it was a pretty fun listen, a unique concept
My favourite 3 album runs of all time, what are your favourite 3 album runs of all time?
I love them so much, i really hope they make more, listeninf to 40 watt sun aswell, he might become one of my favourite frontmen of all time, when patrick sings it makes me feel a feeling no other singer can make me feel, its ive never felt so sad but also at peace while listening to music
Some new merch my mam bought me in bulgaria!
My mam bought me this AI slop tshirt, bless her she doesnt know, but i cant wear this
Assuming marilyn is your favourite artist who else do you guys love? I want to see what kind of music fans we have in here :)
Hello everyone, im a 25 year old with cystic fibrosis and ptsd due to cystic fibrosis, i have been in hospital for a month today. I have been in for 5 months before and idk how i did that because this month feels very long, i am a music nerd and have listened to 81 albums since being admitted. (Shameless plug i also talk about my favourite music on tiktok, instagram and youtube, 65records is the name) i also play games, currenrly have my ps5 in with me, completed the dead rising remake. What do you guys do to keep your mind busy?
So i have been listening to the damned for about 9 months now and after watching and reading many reviews it seems that me having "not of this earth/i'm alright jack and the beanstalk" as my number 1 album in their discography is a hot take, i love the album, it is perfect to me, what do you guys think of it?
What is your guys least favourite quality of his material, if you have none thats okay too, for me it is the mystical and magical content of his earlier material, its a reason why i dont really listen to power metal, so i have been enjoyiny ronnie later materal quite a lot when its not as reliant on those fantasy themes, so what is your guys least favourite thing?
So i'm going through dios catalog so i can eventually rank all of his albums so i have an interesting question for you guys, what is your favourite album from every one of dios bands (that have multiple albums so Elf, Rainbow, sabbath and DIO). BUT THAT ISNT YOUR ONLY TASK! then i want you to rank them in order of how much you like them, so best to worst. Keep in mind i love all these albums as they are the best of each band.
Mob rules - Black sabbath. My favourite ronnie album, i think its perfection, sign of the southern cross is probably my 2nd favourite ronnie performance of all time.
Dream evil - Dio. My favourite dio as of now, ive yet to listen to any of thr 2000s material so who knows maybe here is a dark horse in there somewhere.
Rising - Rainbow. Fantasic album but no other song matches up to stargazer for me, that is one of the best songs of all time, when a song like that is such a masterpiece is outshines the other stuff a bit but a light in the black is fantastic too
4 Trying to burn the sun - Elf. This isnt that far behind for me which some of you might find hard to believe, ive been really getting into blues recently and this was a great way to have some familiarity in the genre although this is blues rock, streetwalker is an all time ronnie song for me, i wouldnt be surprised is this keeps moving up the list.
Thats my list! Lemme know your guys list :)
So im currently going through dios solo catalog, i am familiar with his rainbow, elf and sabbath material and the first 3 albums in this band, and when i went on "rate your music" to see which was lowest rated "angry machines" is the lowest rated by far, i have also remembered seeing it in many lists about the worst albums by great bands, i understand it had a different guitarist from the classic runs so maybe thats why? i just listened to strange highways and angry machines back to back for the first time and there isnt much seperating them after first listen. Angry machines appears to be slower and chuggier, less flashy sure, but i enjoyed the drumming on angry machines quite a lot, there is definitely more low points in the album, golden rules being a cringe fest, but in general i dont see how it is so far below every other album. So is this your least favourite album in his discography? Is this like st.anger from metallica where everyone agrees its the worst? What seperates it from the rest?
Whats your guys top 5 multiplayer maps including DLC or excluding if you havent played them, my top 5 would be? I have played waw since i was 8 (17 years ago) and it will forever be my favourite call of duty game
Battery
Courtyard
Hanger
Castle
Upheavel
I love basically all the maps, i dont know community sentiment on the maps so i dont know if my picks are a hot take, but i love them.
