I'm super new to drawing cats, I used to draw as a kid but it's been over 10 years, and I'm really bad at this 😭 I guess it's a good attempt after so long but gosh I hate it. I know the proportions are off, I messed up the ears, and the coloring is patchy... I was scared to post this but hoping everyone will be kind yet give me helpful criticism! 💜

Some questions:

Should I start with sketching and getting the shapes down first before coloring? Any tips/advice/tutorials that anyone could give me? Is it easier to start on paper then move to trying digital art? Does drawing daily and constantly practicing actually help or don't force myself to all the time? Any tips on shading or coloring?

Practicing retro cartoon style with Crookedstar and Silverpaw.

The background is inspired by Winnie the Pooh's Heffalump Movie. I used some paper textures, VHS effects, and a little chromatic aberration because I really like the old animation vibe.

Firepaw/Fireheart. I made it out of Crayons!

I couldn’t find the right colour of the marker so I had to make the shading purple, hopefully it doesn’t ruin it. This panel was one of my favourites, so why not redraw it.
