I’ve been eyeing the new dragon model, and I’ve never played with or against a magic user on a dragon, but I love how the new sorcerer looks. Is it worth the points? How would you use it compared to say, a sorcerer on a chariot or on foot?
Starting my warriors of chaos army. These are my Tzeentch Halberders. Wanted to keep the paint job cohesive between units. I'm not sure about my choice of base colour. The Grey over the cobblestone doesn't give enough contrast. Maybe some snow on top.
Monstrous encounters dark crusaders. Obscuranox 1.3 settings 0.2 nozzle, A1 mini, Esun PLA+. Army painter speed paints and washes.
My first ten chaos marauders for my SoC era Khorne army.
The scheme is inspired by Haargroths army in the hordes of chaos book and I opted for the same standard icon.
On to come chaos warriors next.
The new Chaos Warriors are big chunky lads! So many callbacks to the 90s Chaos Warriors regiment and the very first plastic Chaos Warriors. Level of detail is insane, but these are probably the best Chaos Warriors ever made IMO.
This graphic comes from my Old World Core Set unboxing: I've got HQ sprue images for the new Chaos kits, plus a list of all build options plus a 4K unboxing video, in which I guide you through the assembly instructions and flip through the revised rulebook: https://taleofpainters.com/2026/07/this-warhammer-the-old-world-core-set-has-the-best-chaos-warriors-gw-have-ever-made-review/
Old World vs Slaves to Darkness Chaos Warriors, which ones are your favourites?
I want to grab these guys, but currently weighing how likely it is that I'll be fighting it out on ebay. What do you think, will they be released separately?
Mid update on the the Rotswords as Forsaken
So I’m stuck in how to paint their skin, antlers, mutations etc. I was thinking of adding a light base like corax white and add then darkoath flesh, but idk. I’m not the best painter and I had no idea how detailed these guys are🤣
Any tips on how to move forward? I’m not looking for anything super detailed my paintings aren’t the best, thanks!
Painted on arrival! This concludes my 3-dragon list.
A conversion I've had in the works for quite awhile, inspired by Frazetta's classic Death Dealer painting
Hey all! I'm looking to get into playing Warriors of Chaos, and with the new minis/core set on the horizon I'm not sure what to do. I have a box each of marauders and marauder horsemen, but I'm not sure if it's a better idea to buy the old battalion and then grab the new characters separately or to go for the core set. Anyone have any thoughts?
So I added my Sorcerer to my dragon kitbash! I made a lore for him also. He will be named Argoth, master of corruption and decay. Im looking for feedback, shoud i add or remove the spit bit or not? Im thinking no spit bit, what do you think? Any tips or mods are welcome before i start painting!. Dragon does not have back legs or armor, talons only!
I started painting this model last Monday, the exact same day GW hinted at a new Chaos Dragon model 😅. I was a bit worried about it being too big for TOW, but after seeing what an awesome, massive beast the new dragon is, my worries vanished.
The model is 3D printed from Titan Forge, but I kitbashed the rider a bit to give him a better WH look. For the blade, I tried to represent a Daemon Sword by painting the hilt as if it were an actual daemon, not just an engraving. I printed another rider planning to kitbash him into a Sorcerer, but after seeing the new kit, I might wait to use some bits from it.
I hope you guys like it!
Where're the leather boots? They're just as iconic to the appearance of Chaos Warriors as anything else about their aesthetic. Feels wrong.
