stung over 30 times fml

stung over 30 times fml

just wanted to rant because oh my god does this suck. i was exploring some woods finding some cool old glass/pottery minding my own business when i picked up a piece and uncovered a yellow jacket nest. got stung all over my hands, all over my back, shoulders, arms, a few on my neck and butt, one on my lip.. etc. pic shows only a fraction of the stings
actually so insanely scary because there’s NOTHING YOU CAN DO?? EXCEPT RUN?? AND THEY CHASE YOU??? AND IT HURTS SO BAD
i was insufferably itchy for the next 24-48 hours.. got zero sleep. i swear i tried every topical and oral med that i could but nothing worked.

How to rid bees…

First time home owner. I know you should not plug it or spray into it as they could fly deeper into my house. Recos to rid without tearing open my siding/window?

Minding my own business, stealth attack

Please feel sorry for me.

So there I was, rolling my wheelbarrow back to base when boom my knee suddenly hurts. I look down and lo, there’s a yellow striped fucker wiggling its arse through my leggings. I shake him off. I begin to swell. And swell. And swell. I go to urgent care and get steroids. I continue to swell and after four days still swelling I end up with a 20-ish cm fried egg looking mess on my leg. I call the doctor. He gives me antibiotics because shitty wasps like to dip their shitty arses in rotting meat, amongst other sources of infection. But because I’m allergic to penicillin I get the ”last resort” clindamycin broad spectrum a-bomb alternative and now, 7 days later I am attached to my toilet shitting my insides out for no reason other than destroyed gut flora. All because of one bastard wasp whose sole purpose in its bastard life was to sting me for no reason. Wanker.

How to get rid of wasps in my front and back yard?

I have a big wasp problem in my front and back yard. I can’t even step outside without wasps of all sizes and colors flying towards me. I hate being outside due to how uneasy I feel around them. I’ve tried looking for their hives and don’t see any. They’re always flying near the small trees and bushes. Is there anyway that doesn’t involve pesticides to get rid of them? We have pets that go outside and don’t want them to get stung.

Bald Faced Bastard

Two weeks ago, I thought I was simply defending myself from a few wasps. Turns out… I may have started a WAR. I was sitting on my front porch with my kid when a few wasps started flying around us. I grabbed one of those bug-zapping rackets that looks like a tiny tennis racket and started swatting at some of the smaller ones. (It was off with no batteries) BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. Suddenly, a huge black wasp/hornet came after me like it had a personal vendetta. It started striking at me, but thankfully the metal bug-zapper racket kind of bounced it off. My daughter and I ran into the house. Apparently… this hornet has a long memory. 😂 Ever since that day, I cannot step out of my front door OR back door without this thing immediately appearing out of nowhere and coming straight for me. I swear it is waiting for me. 😂 I told my husband about it, and he said he sees the same hornet all the time… but it leaves him alone.

I told our exterminator what’s been happening, and he said there’s probably a nest nearby and that the hornet watches for me and has me marked.. the exterminator is coming tomorrow, and I'm really hoping he can take care of this so I can reclaim my front porch and backyard again.

I’m pretty sure it’s a bald-faced hornet, based on what it looks like and what’s common around here. Has anyone else ever experienced this kind of personal torment from a hornet?! 😫😫😤😤🤬🤬

Walked into this without knowing

My spicket was right below where this nest was and I went in there to hook it up and turn it on and off about 5 times. On the 5th time I ended up getting stung about 7 times. Didn’t even know they were there. Pretty wild

What is this?

There's a pretty good number of them buzzing around our pear tree.

Got swarmed for the first time

Where I live the wasps love the area. We've had summers come and go no issues with them, usually live in harmony. What the fuck happened today? I don't know. I went out to let my dog back inside where we got swarmed by at least 20, my dog cried out, i cried out. We both got stung multiple times. They chased us from the backyard- to the front yard- inside my house- all the way to my room in the basement. I ended up killing 5 of them in my room, and i found another 4 upstairs. Im a 25 year old woman and hollered and cried like a baby yall. I wish I had security cameras to watch that shit back. With that being said, FUCK WASPS MOTHER FUCKERRRSSS. Fucking aggressive pieces of shit that seriously make mosquitos look like angels. Joining this sub as a form of therapy after that im actually traumatized. I'm going to have to look for the nest- gonna wait till tm. Pray for me yall

Fuck. Wasps. Holy. Shit.

There's a wasp in our fucking house and no one knows where it is and I'm in my room and it's so fucking hot cuz we don't have central air or other stuff like that & I'm worried about myself and my pet snake and I don't want to open my door until the stupid thing is confirmed dead and I'm having a panic attack over a damn wasp... I will stay in my room for weeks if I have to tho I don't want to be near that thing. The shop vac is broken. No one wants to use spray inside the house. I'm very much too much of a pussy to do jack shit about it myself. Currently it's 92°F in my room. Hahaha. Fuck this wasp.

Any advice on how the fuck someone brave enough to do it can kill this stupid thing?

Update 1: no one can find the stupid thing now. They say it's gone. That's a bad sign tho in my eyes. Could mean there's a wasp nest in the walls or ceiling and it came from a hole somewhere. Instead of accidentally being let in when someone walked in or out of the house. And if that's the case we're too poor for hiring a company to come inspect the house and do something about it. We can hardly afford electricity and water and groceries day to day. So at that point I will probably ask a friend if I can stay at their house until the wasp is dead and none more have been found.

EDIT 1: if it matters we live in Kansas City Missouri- no other location stuff I will share for privacy reasons.

Edit 2: if we did try to get a company out we have no means to pay - shit credit, no loans we can get, etc.

Edit 3: I AM ALLERGIC TO WASPS .... And I don't feel the need to get hospitalized rn cuz a wasp decided to sit in our damn house. I'M NOT A COWARD TO THOSE WHO COMMENTED THAT WTF????

UPDATE 2: My stepdad at least got me some repellent but I can't use it in my room because I do have a tarantula, cockroaches, snakes, and toads. So I have sprayed it away from my room but on one side of the house that goes to my room so hopefully the repellent works and it keeps it on the opposite side of the house to my room.

My door is also at least open and there's airflow from a couple box fans as per usual so it's not as hot and stuffy now! This is an old military house without any ventilation system other than for the furnace which is around 70 years old now. There's also no central air or any sort not even any attic fans or anything. Insulation is from 80 years ago too. This house generally is a fucking nightmare because it's so old and nothing has been replaced or updated in the last 70-80 years other than the breaker box (it was out of date fuses beforehand & ungrounded completely). Anyways, this post isn't about the house. Just wanted to bring this up because with the age of the house as well as how much it's falling apart, it really wouldn't be hard to believe that there could be a wasp nest in the ceiling or walls tho we've been knocking around and then listening for any buzzing as well as looking for any soft spots with any peculiar smells and so far there's no evidence of wasps in the house except for that singular individual. So that fear has so far been put to rest. Now I'm just scared of that one individual wasp.

Yellow jacket? It seems big.

My son was mowing and got stung five times. I walked out to look around, and got stung twice on my finger. The sting is super painful. The insect got stuck on my fleece. We are in Tennessee.

Third wasp sting in three months- ER visit

Was stung on a hike with my 6 year old this morning.

I was stung about 4 weeks ago while weed eating and then about two and a half months ago when I got too close to a yellow jacket nest I didn’t know was being built under our siding.

My reactions have gotten increasingly worse- headache, nausea/GI pain, chills, lip swelling this last time.

So I went and spent 4 hours chillin’ in the ER to make sure I wasn’t gonna keel right on over. Finally have my very own epipen now.

But what the actual. The weedeating time I get it. The first and third time I feel like I was largely minding my own business!!

I don’t wear scented lotions. I don’t carry large hunks of fruit and meat around with me. I don’t typically sing songs of wasp murder.

Why am I the only one I know getting stung this year?! Am I on a yellow jacket‘s most wanted list? How do I continue existing in nature without getting stung, damnit?
