Poll - Favorite Diver at about $15,000 USD

Glashütte Original scored a decisive victory at $13k; can the "Cameron" win back the crown? Can the Planet Ocean hold its own? Will chronograph models fare better or worse?

Vote for you favorite dive watch at $15,000 USD (+/- $1,000) MSRP.

Note that it is these specific references; no write-ins!

Only top level comments are counted. Total upvotes will be tallied. Ideally, there will be exactly 6 top level comments, and everyone just upvotes those. Please don't downvote things you don't like, and don't upvote more than one. (I have no way to enforce that, of course.)

Note: I only included one watch per brand, which means that the Sea-Dweller was left out in favor of the Deapsea. Some Seamaster Diver 300M variants are similarly omitted, yielding to the Planet Ocean.

  1. Blancpain - Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe - 5000 1230 B52A - $15,100
  2. Glashütte Original - SeaQ Chronograph - 1-37-23-02-81-36 - $15,800
  3. Omega - Seamaster Planet Ocean 6000M - 215.30.46.21.03.001 - $14,300
  4. Panerai - Submersible - PAM02692 - $15,900
  5. Rolex - Deapsea "Cameron" - 136660 - $15,880
  6. Ulysse Nardin - Diver Chronograph - 1503-170-3/93 - $15,900

HooHoo…My second watch box if full and I want just one more watch

I’ve got the bug. I think I will have to cut off my hands and hide my wallet to stop ordering. Problem is, the next one is always more beautiful than the last (if that is possible). Yes, yes, I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Why I stated the r/WatchFanatics subreddit.

TLDW I stated this sub to become a face in the watch community and to help promote my YouTube channel.
Reddit keeps me grounded as a “watch influencer”
I appreciate all of you.
I tried to post the video here but the file was taking ages to upload so I posted a YouTube link.

Watch travel cases?

Posted several months ago about being between a Speedmaster, a Submariner and a Datejust for my wedding, and wanted to first update that as I got a Datejust 41! Thank you all for your comments, it was very helpful.

However, now need a travel case and wanted recommendations on that front, either single, double, or triples, thanks so much!

Why you don’t need a screw-down crown. Unless it’s a dive watch.

A push pull crown can achieve 100m water resistance. This is achieved with how the crown and case are sealed.
Most if not all crowns are sealed with o-rings around the crown stem.
When the crown is pushed in fully, the o-ring is compressed against the crown tube creating a watertight seal.
In order to achieve 100m water resistance the rest of the case also has gaskets. One in the case back and also the crystal.

Then why is a screw-down crown needed for a dive watch?
A screw-down crown doesn’t create the water proof seal itself.
Its job is to mechanical lock the crown to the case, keeping good compassion on the o-ring and preventing accidental opening under water.

I used to think that any watch without a screw-down crown wasn’t worth my time until I started wearing push pull crown watches.
They are so practical and easy to use without the worry of cross threading the crown tube.
With more than enough water resistance there for daily wear, that I now swear by push pull crowns.

What are your thoughts on screw-down vs push pull crowns?
