Do you think Rolex will ever make a smartwatch? And if they did, would you buy one?
Panda Daytona vs Platinum 1908…???
Looking for a new watch. Have 4 steel Rolexes (BLNR on Jubilee, EXP2 Polar, Air-King and OP) in my collection currently. Looking to purchase a new weekend watch.
Considering trading a few watches in to start a new land, air and sea collection. Keep batgirl and trade rest toward Panda. Then purchase a Submariner in near future. Possibly even trading BLNR toward for a BLRO or GRNR.
Or
Start fresh, trade in all watches towards a Platinum 1908 weekend watch. Then, work on getting a YG Oysterflex Daytona from AD in future. Offered Daytona Ghost on Oysterflex last summer, turned it down as I want a Y/G model. The wait continues.
Before the devolves into useless banter. Yes I have other watches and watch brands. This is exclusively about my Rolex collection, not about Cartier, Tudor or anything else I have.
Ordered a white on white Reef.
44mm. Looks fresh as all fuck. In the email receipt it says pre-order Friday July 31st, despite it having said ‘in stock’ on the website. So I’m guessing it will be coming in August?
Excited. 🤓☺️
Rolex 👑 Explained: The Complete Beginner's Guide to Every Rolex Model
Are you just getting into watches? If so, the brand that probably springs to mind is Rolex. For those of you just starting out, we've put together a guide to all Rolex models - www.the-wind-up.com/blog/rolex-beginners-guide
Stay classy, folks!
Picked this one today to root for Brazil in the World Cup, because it's the closest one I have with green and yellow, and to remind the times when Brazil was rhe truly greatest football nation in the world.
And also to reminder for the remaining teams in the tourney, like this pie pan and curved hands, stay classy - be more like Cape Verde and less like Paraguay.
Has anyone ever bought a watch because of the description?
I would argue the description of some watches might actually turn people away…
I've been thinking about buying one of these. Anyone know anything about them? It has a proprietary automatic movement.
My new mirco brand watch form #Elka watch co. What do you think?
A nice blue drive
With the gaming industry shifting to digital only. Rolex has jumped on the bandwagon.
This is a joke post. Rolex isn’t selling downloadable watches… Yet.
Thoughts on leather nato straps?
I know they can be bulky and most watch enthusiasts are not fan of leather nato straps but they're really comfortable on hot days.
When it comes to the Rolex serial number, how important is it to hide when taking pictures or videos?
[QUESTION] What's, in your opinion, the best summer watch?
I've been looking non-stop at this Rolex Day-Date 18038 and I'm OBSESSED with the Stella dial and the turquoise https://everywatch.com/rolex/18038/watch-15470101, I can't stop picturing it with a tan in a beach club
Watch is genuine. Mod is not.
Reposting my story with the correct sub r/rolexwatches. Moderator there (Bridge_Too_Far) flagged my watch as a rep based on the serial number in a photo. I had bought from a trusted seller so no reason to believe him but it got in my head.
We dm’d and I asked a few questions and shared more details. By the end of the chat he concluded one of my other Rolex models was also fake based on serial and clasp codes.
I talked with my grey seller who said no chance, but encouraged me to get them checked out by the RSC for peace of mind, so that’s what I did. A month later I got a letter confirming both were genuine, and quoting a full service. It would be another 4-6 weeks to get them back.
Looking back, the mod relied on Google AI mode summaries. His queries consisted of [my serial #] + “fake Rolex”. Because AI is prone to confirmation bias, it hallucinated a false positive and went as far as to fabricate sources to give him what he was looking for.
Cost me unnecessary stress, a couple months without two of my favorite watches and an awkward conversation with my seller.
Lessons are blur your serial number if you post and know that mods and AI apps are not reliable sources of information...Or maybe just stay off the internet.
I shared this update with Bridge Too Far last week. No response.
Save me from buying this…
My inner history buff is screaming!
What is with the fascination of being Swiss made?
Christopher Ward is an English brand, why can’t they pride themselves on being made in Britain?
I think most people don’t care where a watch is made or assembled but I think if you are a Swiss brand then build in Switzerland, if you are an English brand build in Britain and if you are a Chinese brand build in China. What do you guys think?
Is anyone here using a watch collection and accuracy tracking app?
I was using WristLog for a while, but it's going from free to paid, so I'm on the lookout for free alternatives. I'm on Android. Thanks.
Arrived and on wrist - Happy (with my) 250th
Thank you Timex for fulfilling this pre-order before the holiday. Look how sharp this Weekender is. Nice tasteful strap. Simple, clean, no date Weekender dial with the perfect commemorative vibe with the stylized 250 above 6 o’clock. The lollipop red seconds hand adds the pop it deserves. No Indiglo no problemo. Woulda been too good I guess ;)
Glad I snagged the best of the commemorative bunch ;).
J/K … they are all excellent. Lets see those Timex 250’s y’all and tell me your thoughts.
People are so desperate to make the Swatch pop a real AP.
That they will put the dial on sideways to achieve it.
