The birth of my son was the spark that made me start YouTube and to build this subreddit.
I just wanted to share a picture of the man behind the subreddit.
I hope we all can escape the rat race and spend more time with our family.
Currently r/WatchFanatics sits in the top 50 in watch related subreddits.
It has been in the top 25 before for a short time.
I believe that one day this subreddit will be in the top 25 again along with r/prideandpinion but there is one thing that gets on my nerves.
The top 25 groups for watches is filled with what I would describe as consumer electronics.
There are 4 spaces taken up in the top 25 that should be given to proper watch groups.
I know you guys probably don’t care much but as a mod, I do. As being in the top 25 gets the group a huge amount of reach and viability.
I am still very proud of this subreddit.

I will allow discussion about fake watches as long as provides value to the subreddit and its members.

At first I didn’t have a problem with fake watches being posted here as it’s still technically part of the watch community.
But I have taken note of peoples comments about fake watches.
So I put it to you, should fake watch posts be allowed in this sub?
For the past 7 years on this Morgan Stanley chart, Rolex have been at the top of the luxury watch market.
But as you can see with Omega they have been slipping from second place down to fifth place.
So the question is, will Rolex ever lose the top place, and who will take their place?

At $2765 it might be a good alternative to the Tudor bb chronograph.
I don’t hate the style but I probably won’t buy one.
We can all see when a watch is too thick and top heavy and everyone wants thinner watches, but does it get to a point where a watch is too thin?
I was thinking of a perfect ratio for watches at different diameters.
The submariner is regarded as a very balanced watch in terms of its thickness and size.
At 41mm wide and around 12.5mm thick.
That would give a thickness to width percentage of about 30%
So when deciding on whether a watch looks slab sided or not it would be interesting to see if that holds true.
Let me know what you believe is the thickest a 41mm watch is acceptable depending on the function, be it chronograph or a dive watch.
With the available data collected we can determine what thickness and width is acceptable for each type of watch.
