Why I stated the r/WatchFanatics subreddit.

TLDW I stated this sub to become a face in the watch community and to help promote my YouTube channel.
Reddit keeps me grounded as a “watch influencer”
I appreciate all of you.
I tried to post the video here but the file was taking ages to upload so I posted a YouTube link.

Why you don’t need a screw-down crown. Unless it’s a dive watch.

A push pull crown can achieve 100m water resistance. This is achieved with how the crown and case are sealed.
Most if not all crowns are sealed with o-rings around the crown stem.
When the crown is pushed in fully, the o-ring is compressed against the crown tube creating a watertight seal.
In order to achieve 100m water resistance the rest of the case also has gaskets. One in the case back and also the crystal.

Then why is a screw-down crown needed for a dive watch?
A screw-down crown doesn’t create the water proof seal itself.
Its job is to mechanical lock the crown to the case, keeping good compassion on the o-ring and preventing accidental opening under water.

I used to think that any watch without a screw-down crown wasn’t worth my time until I started wearing push pull crown watches.
They are so practical and easy to use without the worry of cross threading the crown tube.
With more than enough water resistance there for daily wear, that I now swear by push pull crowns.

What are your thoughts on screw-down vs push pull crowns?

Will Tudor secondary prices be propped up by the Rolex brand?

People like to say Tudor is the shield that protects the Rolex crown.
I have been thinking, with all these price increases and new Tudor watches being waitlist models.
Will the Tudor brand be similar to Rolex in terms of secondary market prices?
As Rolex gets further out of reach will Tudor take its place as the new Rolex for the people?
Will discontinued Tudor models become more valuable similarly to Rolex?

Show me the watch that got you into watches.

The Breitling for Bentley was the watch that got me into watches. When I was a kid I thought this watch was so cool. The first watch I got myself was a citizen eco-drive that resembled this watch.
