LOST DOG HELP - awareness and resource suggestions

Adding more information and pictures as a follow up to my prior post (https://www.reddit.com/r/Denver/s/w8jRfZ4Kh7).

Remy has been missing for a month with no credible leads or sightings.

Posts have been made continuously across social media and Facebook groups, fliers have been posted, shelters and police contacted and constantly monitored, posts made on PawBoost and similar sites as well as Ring, Nextdoor, Craigslist, etc. also working with Wes Staats in Boulder. microchip company has been contacted.
Any and all other suggestions welcome.

Please share far and wide and reach out with any possible sightings so we can get this girl home.

Hi,
we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Westminster’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Famille vs. Kachina Southwestern Grill), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.

Here’s the iPhone version, with categories that actually fit Westminster’s food scene:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota-restaurant-ratings/id6744969212

And here’s the Android version (finally live):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app

P.S. I’m not from Westminster (I live in Gothenburg). I’m not collecting data, not selling anything, and the app does not use AI-generated content. I’m posting in a few different subreddits because we now support more regions, and I genuinely want honest feedback from people who actually know the area.

Power Grid?

Hey all, I moved to Westminster in October of last year and so far so good (generally). I've lived all over this country, but I have never had the number of power outages (planned, unplanned, long, short, you name it) that I have had since being here--is this kind of normal for Westminster or is where I am just specifically? This mornings' planned outage makes #8 (I think?) for me so far. I was hoping Xcel would be an upgrade from APS :\

Westminster High School

Tell me everything you know about Westminster High School now, as in the current and last school years. Is it an appropriate school for ambitious students/good students? Is it dangerous, do you feel safe at your high school? What are some things that stand out as great? What are some events and moments that were a positive experience for you? What are some of the colleges Westminster High School graduates have attended? How many students were in your classes? How often did you take classes at Ranum (I see the busing and pick up or drop off looks like a pain, why not bus both ways)? What's the teacher turnover rate? Do you feel supported by school leadership? Any honest feedback from parents, staff, students.

Anyone know what they are building off 88th and Wadsworth near Chilis and Torchy’s?

Looks like it’s going to be some sort of fast food restaurant from the construction so far but am curious if anyone knows what it will be

Spa Day Recommendations

Hey y'all,

Looking for a good spa place for my spouse's birthday. Are there any local options with good service? I'm also open to the greater Denver area. Thanks!

Sign up outside the former Hacienda at 10422 Town Center Dr saying it is becoming an Olive Garden

I wonder if the Olive Garden on 88th will remain or if this will be an additional location.

Guess that makes it pretty firm that Macaroni Grill will not be reopening, as most commercial leases would not allow two restaurants serving the same category of food to operate that close to one another.

Crime reporting - where to find?

There was a shooting across the street from me last evening but I cannot find any news or details on it at all. Is there a Twitter or local news source that reports out on shootings? Crazy to me that I can’t find anything.

Car tint recommendations

Looking for recommendations for a good place to tint my Toyota RAV4 that won’t break the bank but still does quality work. Want something that can be done in a couple hours so I can wait with the car — no overnight drop-off. Who do you recommend?

Preferably Westminster, Thornton, broomfield area

Kings Soopers at 58th and Independence: proudly supporting Nazis

Went to the King Soopers at 58th and Independence today, and the rent-a-cop out front, the first person you interact with in the store, proudly displays the lightning SS tattooed across his cheeks.

I called out his nazi tattoo, and went to the front desk. I talked with the store “leader” who refused to do anything meaningful, saying, “they contract out their security and there’s nothing to be done.”

Fuck that. I refuse to shop at some place that thinks a nazi is an ok person to employ, an ok person to let have a gun around families. Fuck all nazi scum. I urge you to call the king Soopers main office and Sparkys Tactical directly and let them know this is not acceptable, and to refuse to shop there as well. Tell Soops that if they are ok with Nazis with guns, they’re not ok for Colorado neighborhoods.

Don’t tolerate nazis, it’s that simple

Edit: I was amped up, and did not get a picture of the idiot. I will gladly go back and humiliate him to do so

Recommendation for Deck Contractor

Hello! Does anyone have any recommendations for a deck contractor in the Westminster area? I will be moving into a home in the area in a few weeks, and the existing deck needs to be demolished and a new deck constructed. The ground under the deck also needs to be regraded due to current negative grading towards the house. I’m a bit overwhelmed when searching for accredited options, so any advice is welcome! Ideally the contractor is licensed and insured. Thank you!!

Incident command system training basics

Come learn about the incident command system and tested tools for flexible response to incidents and emergencies!

This system is used by all emergency services, law enforcement agencies and military. It allows for a rapid and organized response that is flexible to any incident and can tailored quickly. It comes with a set of tools such as job action sheets that designate specific tasks/functions, identification and safety procedures, etc. These methods can also be used to break up long responses into operational periods. We’ll also be covering communication tools to aid in verification of information, pathways of information, and clear language. This structure is how ICE and other migra agencies are supposed to function. This knowledge will also make identifying their different roles easier on a scene and allow confirmers or responders to know who is ideal for them to try to talk to.

You can RSVP on our encrypted form here so we can send you the link to the training and a follow up email with materials from the training. This also helps give us an idea of the number of attendees even if you choose not to share personal information! We understand that people are hesitant to share their personal information so we do not require registration to attend. You can just click the zoom link provided in the details section at 6pm on April 24th. You are not required to be logged into an email address to attend the training.

This training is virtual only and presented by We Keep Us Safe: El Pueblo Unido Contra ICE. We Keep Us Safe is a grassroots initiative to help the metro Denver area organize proactively and effectively to protect our community members from being inhumanely kidnapped by ICE. We are developing a hub of resources and best practices targeted towards the Denver area, but many of the resources are statewide. This can be found on our website wkus-co.org! We are educating and activating community members through canvassing, training, and outreach. Our goal is to support interested volunteers across the Denver area in building community and solidarity–and to support volunteers in effectively self-organizing in the face of state violence.
