YouTube is threatening to ban "The Nerd Reich with Gil Duran." Gil’s book gets published next week and his channel’s been flooded with fake "copyright strike" complaints. See below for how you can help…

Gil Duran of The Nerd Reich - Aug 13, 2026. Here’s the YouTube link: Will YouTube Ban The Nerd Reich Podcast? - The Nerd Reich with Gil Duran - Aug 13, 2026 (YouTube)

From Gil's description:

YouTube is threatening to ban the Nerd Reich podcast and we'll probably be gone by the end of the week. ~:~ Why? We're being flooded with a campaign of false complaints—one week before my book is published. We've been on YouTube for 1.5 years with no problems. Suddenly, we're getting multiple fake "copyright strike" complaints every day. This is clearly a coordinated effort—and it's working. ~:~ YouTube's policy is "guilty until proven innocent." So the company is deleting our videos about Jeffrey Epstein's connection to Bitcoin and JD Vance's connection to Curtis Yarvin—and threatening to deplatform our entire podcast. YouTube's ridiculous bureaucracy refuses to listen to reason.

Here's how you can help:

1. Subscribe to The Nerd Reich Newsletter to keep in touch as we navigate this situation. We'll probably need to find a video platform that won't censor us for speaking out against tech fascism: thenerdreich.com

2. Send an email to YouTube. The company only responds to public and media pressure, so send an email to: press @ google . com

3. Pre-order "The Nerd Reich" book, which will be released next week. This effort to erase our channel is clearly timed for the publication of my book, which exposes the roots of Silicon Valley extremism: https://bookshop.org/a/109206/9781668...

THANK YOU to our 26,000 YouTube subscribers for your support over the past 1.5 years. I didn't want to start a video podcast because I didn't think we'd have much of an audience. But some of our episodes got over 150,000 views, and our audience grew with every episode. ~:~ Hopefully, YouTube will back down. But remember: We'll still be available on all audio platforms, and you can always subscribe there. When we find a new place to host our video pod, I'll give an update on the Nerd Reich newsletter.

JD Vance promotes a book that says Democrats aren't human. Now it's MAGA’s strategy for the midterm elections: Fake hysteria over “Communists” in order to dehumanize Democrats. - Gil Durán

The 2024 book is called, “Unhumans.” Video is July 19, 2026 by Gil Durán. Here it is on YouTube: The book that says Democrats aren't human. JD Vance endorsed it 🚨👇 - Gil Durán of The Nerd Reich - July 19, 2026 (YouTube)

Here's the accompanying article 👉 thenerdreich.com/why-trump-keeps-talking-about-communism-the-unhumans-playbook

From the video description: Donald Trump and his MAGA party have a desperate new strategy for the 2026 midterm elections: a fake hysteria over "communists" designed to dehumanize Democrats. This strategy comes straight from a 2024 book called "Unhumans." ~:~ What is the "Unhumans" Strategy? The MAGA playbook relies heavily on "Unhumans, a radical text featuring a foreword by Steve Bannon and heavy promotion by JD Vance. The strategy is simple: frame ordinary Democrats as demonic "unhumans" so they no longer deserve basic human rights. Tech-billionaire gurus like Curtis Yarvin have openly admitted that using the word "communist" is just a weaponized slur meant to act as a political "punch." ~:~ Durán exposes the radical text Unhumans, JD Vance's endorsements, and the propaganda technique known as "Accusation in a Mirror." ~:~:~ The Nerd Reich covers Silicon Valley tech's extremist politics, the Dark Enlightenment, The Network State, Elon Musk, et al. Hosted by Gil Durán. Produced by R.R. Robbins

Guy who runs FedRAMP gets put on leave for saying veterans' hiring preference is "brutally unfair" — is this what happens when you tell the truth in this town?

Saw this on FedScoop and had to share with y'all.

Pete Waterman, the director of FedRAMP over at GSA, got put on administrative leave because he said on LinkedIn that veterans' preference in hiring is "brutally unfair when taken to the extreme." He was talking about how they can't even look at civilian candidates for cybersecurity jobs until they've made offers to every veteran who applies — even if the vets don't have cloud experience.

Now I'm not here to argue for or against veterans' preference. I respect anyone who served. But here's what gets me: the guy was telling the truth about a broken system, and within days he's on leave. GSA came out saying they "completely disagree" and have "zero tolerance" for comments that "disrespect" veterans.

Since when did stating a factual problem become "disrespectful"?

I spent 18 years in federal service. I've seen this movie a hundred times. You point out something that's broken, and the system finds a way to silence you. Doesn't matter if you're right. What matters is whether you made someone above you uncomfortable.

Is this what it's come to? Senior career people can't even speak honestly about hiring on their personal LinkedIn without getting thrown under the bus?

Curious what folks in this community think. Have any of you seen or experienced this kind of retaliation for speaking up about internal problems?
