Westchester burger

Busy at work rn can’t leave and wondering if that place by the westchester mall is still open or did it close down because my friend and I aren’t sure.

Had their burger from a food truck yesterday and it was so good!! I wonder where I can find them again.

Moving to WP this summer

My family is considering a move to WP from another state and we're looking to rent a 3bed/2ba house. Most of the homes I'm seeing have only 1 bath, and unfortunately that doesn't work for us. The house rentals are also pretty high (or extremely outdated) when only offering 1 bath! Is availability likely to open up between now and Sept.?

New Weekly Local Photo Challenge Westchester Meetup Group

Hi folks! Wanted to call out a new Meetup group for anyone in Westchester who likes to take photos and wants to make some new friends! Here's some info about it - Interested people can hop on a virtual call this Thursy at lunchtime for a quick planning chat. Please join if you can!

I got this idea in a different conversation here about ideas on how to make friends as an adult. If this is something that resonates with you and you'd like to join - feel free to do so!

Also, I'm open to suggestions here on Reddit if you have thoughts on the idea, the group name, description etc. I want this to be a community run group! Totally free for everyone to participate, by the way!

https://www.meetup.com/westchester-picture-this/

Description:

Westchester Picture This: every week, a new photographic challenge. A theme, a constraint, a creative dare — your mission is to go capture the best shot you can!

Then we get together to share what we made, talk through the images, and vote on a favorite.

Each week, the winner sets the next week's challenge. So the group keeps reinventing itself, and everyone gets a chance to inspire!

Who it's for: Anyone in Westchester who likes making pictures. Phone or full-frame, first-timer or seasoned shooter, the challenge is the great equalizer. The point is to look at the world creatively, to grow and have fun, not to out-gear anyone.

How we meet: About three times a month online (quick, casual share-and-vote sessions) and once a month in person around Westchester. We can take a photo walk, set up a shoot, meet for a coffee or beer — so we actually get to know the people behind the photos.

No jury, no entry fee, no pressure. Just a recurring nudge to pick up your camera and see your corner of the world a little differently and share your perspective with some new friends.

Talk to me about gyms with childcare

I’m a stay at home mom, looking to build some muscle and just optimize my health as I’ve hit my mid 30s. Do you have a favorite gym? Group Classes are a bonus.
My 5 year old will be in kindergarten soon but I’ll have my 2 year old with me most of the time. He’s a pretty attached guy…
A couple friends swear by Lifetime.. do you all agree? Is it worth the $$ simply because of all the things you can do in the winter with your kids? Swimming pool etc? (I haven’t actually toured it myself yet)

Open to anything really. Have only lived in the area a short while from out of state.

Thank you!

Edit: I live in white plains

Just watched the movie Disclosure Day in the theaters- instantly recognized several scenes that were in White Plains. Anyone else who saw the movie catch these scenes?

Also an editing fail at the end- the movie takes place in Kansas City but they had a White Plains bus shown in one scene letting passengers out.

Just saw a dog running down Old Mamaroneck Ave

Just saw a dog running down Old Mamaroneck Ave and turned down Bryant Ave. Looked like a beagle mix with a black harness. Seemed friendly but I had my dog and it wouldn't come near me.

Called the humane society (which was closed) and the white plains pd. But wanted to send the message out there if anyone is looking for their missing dog!!

Train station parking (Wednesday 6/24)

I park at the transcenter garage (connected to WP metro north station) regularly in the afternoons to get into the city and never have parking issues - in fact I’m usually able to park right near the cross bridge that connects from the platform and there are seemingly entire levels of empty spots above. The whole lot always feels super empty and never something I’ve ever worried about.

Today however the place was absolutely packed! I got there around 12pm as usual and there was not a single spot.. all 6 or whatever levels were jammed with many people circling. What on earth was going on today that so many people were parking at White Plains station on a random Wednesday? There was no World Cup matches in NJ and no events in the city that I could figure out..

Anyone know? I don’t want to be stuck in that position again if I can help it! (I couldn’t get a spot, missed the train and ended up forced to drive into the city..)

CVS annoyance

They see my kid and I desperately needing to use the restroom as they do have an out of order sign they said we cannot and to leave elsewhere. But I begged one other girl to open and let me try luckily she said okay because my daughter couldn’t make it any further to another location. And guess what people their bathroom works just fine! They know it works but they are lying to us about it being broken! Definitely putting this in a review once I get the chance. What else are they lying to us about I’ve been going to this location for years mind you. This the store across the street from the City Center. The location down the street is much better allowing me to use the restroom because over there they tell the truth. I really don’t like being lied to. Why even have a bathroom if you don’t want people to use it when they need to use it. Sorry my bladder tells me when to go and not the other way around. That wouldn’t be normal. This store is inhumane.
