Local Facebook pages I follow keep talking about these large (Caribbean?) festivals going on at Brush Park and controversy around them and something with the mayor? From what I know it’s a park for kids with a playground. It seems like a really weird location for a big festival. I’m sure it’s fun to go to but wtf is going on there? Shouldn’t they be doing this kind of stuff at the County Center? I’m out of the loop on this one and the MtVernon sub is super dead.

So I’ve been to a bunch of open mics in the city, but since moving here, I haven’t really found a place to perform. Anyone have any recommendations? I’d rather it be comedy more than music open mic. I’ve found music open mics but no consistent comedy mics.
