So as we know, in chapter 202 and 203, Sakura tells Momojikawa his past (something he already told the rest of bofruin offscreen) where he talks about his childhood, when he met his father, and more. 

Now most of this i do believe is true, as for sakura i couldn't be more then 10 years ago (if that) and with how traumatic it was for him, shaping his view of the world and himself, he would no doubt remember it.  

HOWEVER, he also talks about how he was “Alone since birth” and how, according to his father, his mother died when giving birth to him. 

Now obviously there's no regular person in the world who can clearly remember their own birth and while his father may have said that, he could also have been lying to Sakura or not telling the full truth. 

In other words, Sakura, in this instance, is somewhat of an unreliable narrator, as neither him nor us the reader knows the entire picture of when he was born. 

and so i do think there is some speculation to be had regarding just that 

Did Sakura's mother really die in childbirth? 

Is Sakura's unique hair colour (which he has had for all his life) possibly a hint at something? 

Does sakuras dad really hate him for mothers death, or was that a coverup for another reason that he couldn't say? 

and to be clear, if it does turn out there is more to this backstory, i dont think it would takeaway from the emotional aspect of 202-203, since it was about Sakura experience and the mental baggage that came with it, which will still be in him regardless of the full context (plus a message in windbreaker is that life is simply unfair sometimes) 

anway feel free to put out your speculation below as i would be interested in hearing about it.

"Sakura refuses to believe anyone else's version of the story. Until he hears the truth directly from Suo, nothing feels right. That's reason sakura connection with everyone like that ....

Unfortunately we got absolutely NOTHING from CLOVERWORKS Panel today at Anime Expo, we still have a chance tomorrow but I don't think that's possible.

Anyways Anime NYC 2026 runs August 20–23, and it's one of Aniplex's biggest North American events after Anime Expo.

WIND BREAKER has had a significant presence at Anime NYC before, including a dedicated panel with Yuma Uchida (Haruka Sakura VA) and CloverWorks president Akira Shimizu in 2025.

We still have a chance but what do we know for sure that it's impossible to get the new season this year and we'll wait for April 2027 maybe.

This is during his backstory. This is a hunting photo where he talks about continuing to live on in this world and it looks like he’s getting hanged. I thought it was a clever interesting detail.
