I absolutely loved ATYD, I'm catching up on Four To The End and finally took the plunge and read TCOPTP and I'm obsessed with all of them.

I prefer long fics, any AU but I do love me some Hogwarts era Mauraders. I also prefer Lupins POV as he's my favorite character but am open to Sirius' or dual. I've also read a bunch of text style fics and also enjoy those. Any smut level is welcome.

That in mind, I want your FAVORITE fic even if it doesn't fit what I'd prefer! (can tell me multiple!) You read it and it was all you can think about, you cried, it left you wanting more, etc. All time best fic in your opinion!

Now although wolfstar is my OTP I have read mostly PWP so far and I'm now looking for actual stories. Victorian Wolfstar came to my mind as a brilliant idea but probably it already exists.

It doesn't have to be necessarily victorian it can be done time after like early 20th century idk. I'm looking for something with a Downton Abbey vibe? Maybe a lord Sirius Black falling in love with a work class Remus Lupin? But I'll take any configuration really.

I want cozy domestic low stakes wolfstar but in a long fic form. All the ones I find are one shots or have 2-3 chapters only. And yes they are really good but I'd really like to indulge in a long story like this.

It can be any AU, preferably adult wolfstar but I take teens too. Just the focus should be their day to day domestic life it can be slow burn or established relationship. Muggle AU, magical, coffee shop anything. Spice is preferable but I'd take any level of spice.

I'd be nice to have some Jily and Regulus in the background but it's not required.

I’ve just finished a reread of Hide Your Fires and I’m looking for fics with a similar vibe? Wolfstar during the second war or at least after the first, older (not teens), maybe horcrux hunting, maybe raising Harry or just helping him later on??? Bonus points if Reg is around too and we get some black brother drama!! Ive read Remain In Light which has a lot of what I like!! Also Fragile House of Black!! These three fics are all god tier to me and I neeeed more!! I just want all of my faves to be out there kicking Voldys ass pls 🥲 HEA would also be great pls as I’m a fragile gal!!

I have read so many fics and I’m craving something that I have never read before that just sucks you in and makes you do nothing but read in your spare time for days on end. I felt this way with all the big ones and just recently reread only the brave to somewhat feel this but I really want something new that I don’t know what is coming next when reading. Both Wolfstar + Jegulus pls but I don’t mind background Jily at all in a Wolfstar fic they are cute just not interesting enough to be the main focus for me. Open to muggle aus and magic guys give me ANYTHING. No Mcd though please I can’t hack it rn. Preferably more than 20k atleast but if you have an amazing rec that’s under then go ahead I will read it anyway! I wanna feel something again!!!!!!!!! I want y’all to help me change my mind on Wolfstar. I’m first and foremost a Drarry & Jegulus shipper (I’m sorry in advance, I know many in this fandom don’t love those ships but I think knowing this would help with recs). I love Wolfstar as a background ship and I know how beloved they are, I enjoy their side stories in things I’m reading but I’m never really excited by them in the same way. I don’t know if it’s because I see the dynamic of friends-to-lovers as less exciting than enemies-to-lovers or what.

I say all this not to dog on the ship, I want to be excited about it because Remus’ wolf-y dynamic is definitely my speed and there’s just an abundance of wolfstar content. Y’all are blessed with some of the best artists in the fandom!

What are some fics you’d recommend to me to hook me into wolfstar?

Preferably:
- HEA (I love heavy angst but only knowing that my boys make it out okay in the end)
- No MCD
- no Lily bashing if bg ship is Jegulus (tho I’m guessing this is rarer in this ship? I’m okay with Jily as a bg ship!)

Bonus (but unnecessary):

This is a hogwarts fic, I think Remus joins later than the rest (Sirius and James and Peter are still tight). He and sirius don’t get along well. Sirius unleashes a boggart on Remus?? As a way to take revenge over something meagre. However, that backfires and he ends up witnessing the boggart alone. Remus saves him and they fall asleep on the floor that day. That’s all I remember from it.

I spent the whole night frolicking through a garden of beautiful wolfstar thanks to this author GardenOfLupins. I enjoyed the way she wrote Remus and Sirius. I really liked the way she showed how they thought and felt. All of the steamy scenes were so perfect and delicious. She clearly has a love for the couple. I recommend everyone give her a try.

I have this pet peeve and I am genuinely curious if it’s just me.

People using “creative” alternatives to the peoples names:

“the lycanthrope”
“the dog animagus”
“the former prisoner”
“the escaped convict”
“the dog of a student”
“the brunette”

When it happens more than three times in a row, I just close the fic.

I think it bugs me that the point in many of these fics are to portray them as multifaceted people, ultimately for them to be narrowed down by this one defining (sometimes unflattering, sometimes rude, mostly pointless) feature.

NEED TOXIC WOLFSTAR REC PLS

I have no one to talk about this so this is going to be quite long, I'll probably rumble a lot and it's gonna be a bit all over the place, sorry in advance if anyone gets to read this thing through. There's also gonna be a lot of a spoilers of course.

This fic absolutely destroyed me in the way I expected it would, but also in ways I didn’t fully see coming.

The whole section after James and Lily die was devastating. Seeing Remus left with this crushing realization that without his friends and without the order, he is truly alone. That feeling of isolation was one of the saddest things in the entire book tbh.

But the most devastating parts for me was everything surrounding Grant. Seeing him step aside so gently and lovingly once Sirius comes back was almost unbearable. Also, his conversation with Sirius about having seen Remus at his worst completely broke me, because it captures why Grant matters so much. He understands Remus in the most painful and intimate way. By the end, Grant honestly became my favorite character in the whole thing. I love him so so much.

And the fic ending with Remus and Sirius still together should feel comforting, and in some ways it is I guess, but it’s impossible not to remember how little time they actually have left. It's pretty heartbreaking.

Anyways, on a brighter side, one moment that has really stayed with me is that camping scene near the end of their last year at Hogwarts, when everyone is sitting together by the beach, aware that life is about to change and that war is waiting for them on the other side of school. Remus is a little drunk and overwhelmed by how much he loves his friends and how much they mean to him, and finally, he reaches a point where he can’t stand keeping such a huge part of himself hidden from them anymore. So he tells them he’s gay, and the whole scene is handled with so much warmth and tenderness. I still think about Lily being the first to reassure him. It’s one of the sweetest moments in the whole series, and I think part of why it hit me so hard is because it felt strangely personal haha. I also came out to my friends while young and drunk around a campfire by the beach, in one of those overflowing moments where despite your fear, you look around and realize these are people you trust, people you love, and people you want to know you fully. I remember telling them I’d been dating a boy, and because of that and their reaction, this scene felt almost surreal to read. It felt deeply familiar and it made it even more special to me.

And related to that moment, what I loved most about this series as a whole is how well it portrays relationships in every form. Remus and Mary, Remus and Lily, Sirius and James, all of them feel so layered and believable. And the romances specifically, I think that this fic does a much better job at portraying meaningfully than the original books ever did with any type of romance whatsover. What impressed me most about this whole reading experience is how real and emotionally complete these characters feel. They really do feel like an extension of the versions from canon, but with so much more depth.

And the music running through all of it. I don’t think I’ve ever read anything that feels so deeply intertwined with music in quite the same way. There are songs by T Rex or Bowie that I genuinely don’t think I’ll ever be able to hear again without immediately thinking of these characters or specific scenes. It’s one of those things that makes the fic feel immersive in a way that’s hard to describe.

Overall, this was such a powerful reading experience that I honestly think I’ll carry it with me for a long time. As corny as it sounds haha, it really does feel like one of those stories that leaves a permanent mark on you. It took characters and events I already knew and somehow made them feel devastating and deeply human all over again. I'm not one to read a looot of fanfiction, most of my reading comes from published books, but this is genuinely one of the best things I’ve ever read, and I’m so glad I got to experience it.

Basically any fic where Sirius is presented as more masculine as oppose to being softer/flamboyant? I’ve just noticed that in a lot of fics he’s slightly more feminine in his sexuality and stuff and I was hoping to find fics where he’s more masculine and boyish? Bonus if he tops and/or is taller than Remus
