Planning to buy the XEV 9E Cineluxe Edition but had a few questions about the charger from you experts.

I have almost finalized the cine luxe edition and confused about the 11Kw charger that comes with it. I saw many posts about buying it from outside as there is a significant price difference of 40k. Sales Rep mentioned that outside charger will not void warranty but will not go on his claims. Wanted to knkw what kind of chargers you'll are using if taken from outside and pros and cons as well, will help me a lot deciding to go for the charger from Mahindra or not. Looking towards to 11 Kw only.

11kW charger okay for a sanctioned load of 11kW?

I have a sanctioned load of 11kW and it is a 3 phase connection. I want to be sure before buying an 11kW charger that it won’t cause issues such as overload or tripping due to energy consumption in the house sending the load beyond 11. Please let me know.

For my usage and utility, even a 7.2kW charger would satisfy it. I am only leaning towards the 11kW charger as future proofing (if my usage increases or I buy another ev vehicle in the future.)

Also, even with a 11kW charger, is it possible to set the charging limit to use lower power via the in car system or the app?

AQI levels in this season

In march when the ac fan was turned on (at speed 1 or 2), it used to drop the aqi levels from 80-100 or whatever to 1 or 2 after an hour of driving.

Then after first service, in which they said they only cleaned the air filter. The aqi used to stay intact at 50-60 no matter what the fan speed. And earthy pollen smell used to come in cabin.

Raised the issue with them. They again cleaned the air filter, said the earthy pollen smell should go away, if it doesn't then they will do radiator cleaning but it will be chargeable. They did some ac setting using their obd laptop.

Now the aqi level drops to 20-25 but stays at this level. They said this is because body produces more heat in summers. As per them if the aqi level drops 10 points from the aqi level which is shown when the ac starts then as per them all is good.

Just wanted to ask what is the aqi level that you are seeing in your vehicle?

At what level, fan speed u use the ac?

After how much time of starting the ac do u see the aqi level dropping?

Have u noticed that the aqi level drop is less as compared to when the season was different?

Recent update effect on range

Hey everyone,

I have an XEV 9e Pack One 59Kwh and I’m based in Delhi, where temperatures are currently hovering around 43°C.

I recently received my first OTA update and installed it immediately. But right after the update, I noticed a significant drop in the estimated range.

Before the update, a full charge used to show around 520 km estimated range. Since the update, even after doing 2 full charge cycles, it now only shows around 470 km.

I understand that the displayed range isn’t the actual real-world range, but such a sudden drop right after an OTA update is concerning.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that my efficiency in this heat hardly touches 5–6 km/kWh now. Earlier, I was consistently getting at least 7 km/kWh.

So I wanted to ask:
- Has anyone else experienced a range drop after the recent OTA update?
- Is this kind of efficiency drop normal in extreme Delhi summer temperatures?
- Does the BMS recalibrate over time after updates, or should I get this checked?

Would appreciate hearing from other owners.

Help regarding installing updates.

Hey Guys, I’d a few questions regarding updates:

  1. While updating it is showing a lot of errors and they vanish after sometime, is it fine? Like, it showed some errors about voltage and then when the update was completed, it did not show the error again?

  2. Is it fine if I leave the car turned on while it is being updated?

Should I sell my XUV700 and switch to an EV now?

I currently own an XUV700 AX7 Petrol Manual, bought around 4 years ago. The car has only done ~25,000 kms so far because I mostly relied on public transport and used the car occasionally.

However, my situation may change now since my office commute is around 75 kms daily (mostly city driving). Because of this, I’m planning to start using a car regularly and considering switching to an EV.

Charging setup is not an issue for me - Independent house and already have 3-phase electricity connection

My main questions are:

Does it make sense to sell the XUV700 now and move to an EV?

Or should I keep the XUV700 and wait a few more years for EV tech/infrastructure to mature further?

If switching now is a good idea, which EV would make the most sense?

Currently considering:
Mahindra XEV 9e / 9s (Prefer 9s since it is more family friendly)
Tata Harrier EV
Hyundai Creta EV
Tata Curvv EV X series
Evitara/Ebella

Would love to hear from people who moved from ICE to EV recently. Also open to other EV suggestions in this budget range.

Xev9e for Real Estate Company

Need advice from people with real EV ownership experience, especially Mahindra XEV 9e owners.

Current situation:

  • I run a real estate business and drive around 100 km daily
  • Current car: Maruti Suzuki Dzire ZXi+ AGS petrol automatic
  • Real-world mileage: around 9–10 kmpl
  • Fuel cost currently coming to ~₹35k/month
  • Considering buying a Mahindra XEV 9e in company name

Questions:

  1. Does switching to EV make financial sense for my usage
  2. Any major issues with XEV 9e reliability, software, charging, service, or battery degradation
  3. My usage is mostly city + highway mixed driving for client meetings and property visits.]
  4. Can i expect this car to reach 2.5L-3.0L km in maybe 10 years?

Would appreciate advice from actual owners rather than YouTube reviews.

PPF on XEV 9E Stealth Black in Gurugram — worth it or not?

Hello everyone,

I recently booked the Mahindra XEV 9E in Stealth Black and I’m based in Gurugram.

I’m confused about whether I should get PPF done or not. Since the car is black, I know it may show swirl marks, scratches, dust, and water spots more easily compared to lighter colours. At the same time, full-body PPF is quite expensive, so I’m trying to understand whether it is actually worth it.
My usage will mostly be city driving in Gurugram/NCR with occasional highway drives, and I want to keep the car looking good for the long term.

I’m considering these options:
- Full-body PPF
- Only high-impact areas PPF — front bumper, bonnet, ORVMs, door edges, door cups, A-pillars
- Ceramic coating instead of PPF
- No PPF, just regular washing/detailing

Questions:

Is full-body PPF worth it on a black car like the XEV 9E?

For Stealth Black, will PPF help significantly with swirl marks and minor scratches?

Given Gurugram/NCR dust, construction, parking scratches, and hard water issues, does PPF make more sense?

What should be a reasonable price range for good-quality PPF in Gurugram/Delhi NCR?

Any specific brands/installers in Gurugram/NCR to prefer or avoid?

For people who got PPF done, do you regret it or feel it was worth the money?

Would love to hear from owners who have used PPF on black cars, especially EVs or larger SUVs in NCR.
Thanks in advance!

Confuse about charger

I have booked XEV9s pack three above 79kwh C11. I don’t daily use my car for longer run. Mostly 50km daily. I am thinking 3.2 Kwh charger. Practically my car is never going to go below 20%. For emergencies I have DC charger 3km away from home. Should I go for 11kwh charger? I can ask showroom not to bill me for charger as I have booked with charger?

CYBER 9E : Reimagining the Mahindra XEV 9E

Recently got an XEV 9E and decided to take a slightly different route with it visually.

The idea was to create something inspired by the futuristic automotive design language from Cyberpunk 2077 while still keeping the car usable as a daily.

Most of the ideas started from rough sketches, in-game references and late night concepts before finally getting executed on the actual car.

Wrapped in Satin Dark Basalt Grey with custom decals, reworked front and rear lighting signature, smoked rear lighting and a bunch of smaller details throughout the car.

Named the build “Cyber 9E”.

XEV 9S insurance coverage. Please advise.

Hello everyone,

My dealer has given me this insurance quote for 3+3 from IndusInd for XEV 9S. Can you please review this quote and let me know if any important coverage is missing that I must add without fail? I will be first time EV owner, so still learning all the EV related stuff.

I don't mind paying bit extra insurance premium upfront. In fact, I myself asked for 3+3. Because I want to be stress free after buying my first EV.

Please advise. Thank you 😊

XEV 9E insurance advice needed: 3+3 vs 1+3, and must-have add-ons?

Hello everyone,

I booked my Mahindra XEV 9E yesterday. My dealer is okay with me taking third-party insurance, so I am exploring options outside the dealership.

I am currently considering a 3+3 insurance plan from Tata AIG, and the quote is coming to around ₹1.27 lakh (excluding GST).

I wanted advice on a few things:

  1. What are the must-have add-ons for an EV like the XEV 9E?
    • Zero depreciation
    • Return to invoice
    • Consumables
    • Roadside assistance
    • Engine/motor protector
    • Battery protection
    • Key replacement
    • Tyre/rim protection
    • Anything else specific to EVs?
  2. Is battery protection usually included by default in EV insurance, or should I explicitly add it?
  3. The dealer is suggesting that because EV technology is advancing quickly, it may be better to go with a 1+3 plan instead of 3+3. Their logic is that after 1 year, better EV-specific insurance products/add-ons may be available.

Does this make sense, or is it better to lock in a 3+3 comprehensive plan now?

Would really appreciate suggestions from people who have recently bought EV insurance, especially for Mahindra EVs / BYD / Tata EVs / MG EVs.

Thanks in advance!
