Legion Go controllers not working in game [FIX]

So I ran into this issue on my brand new Legion Go. My controllers were only working in Legion Space app but not in games.
I tried checking FPS button, I tried resetting both controllers by pressing on the small pin on each controllers.
Without going too much into what didn’t work. I will write what worked for me.

First I noticed that inside Legion Space> Controllers
It said “D-input “ which was my first clue as it should be saying “X-input” which is the standard compatible mode for majority of games.

So I knew that I have to somehow change it into X-input here’s what I did step by step-

  1. Turn off the Legion Go completely.
Press the small Volume Up button while turning it on.
  2. Select System Recovery.
    3.Select Troubleshoot.
  3. Select Advanced Options.
  4. Select Startup Settings.
  5. Press Restart.
  6. On the Startup Settings screen, press 4 to boot into Safe Mode.

Once Windows finished booting into Safe Mode, simply restart the Legion Go normally.

That was literally all I had to do.

After rebooting:
The controllers started working again.
Windows navigation worked normally.
Days Gone detected the controller.
Dying Light 2 detected the controller.
Everything was back to normal.

I believe the Legion controller service or the XInput driver somehow got stuck. Booting into Safe Mode forced Windows to reinitialize the controller stack, and after a normal reboot everything started working again.

Hopefully this helps someone else before they waste hours troubleshooting, reinstalling Windows, or returning their Legion Go like I almost did.

Vintage Styled

Didn’t feel like waiting for the 25th anniversary controller, or feel like paying the likely scapled prices, so I took matters into my own hands.

Extreme rate trans green shell, Xbox 360 ABXY buttons.

Had to sand the bottom of the 360 buttons down, and sand down the tops of the regular ABXY buttons. Bonded together with JB Plastic Weld.

Not bad for 3 hours of sanding and cutting.

The X button ended up being a little skewed, but aren’t we all 🤷

If they ever make third party full colour buttons after the release of the 25th anniversary controller I’ll probably pick up a set or two.

Do these joysticks work with the Xbox controller?

Both of my controllers have drift issues with the right joystick, so I'm thinking of buying a pair of these.

edit: its for xbox series controller

u/Bohemian-Intruser — 1 day ago

Help, anybody experience this?

I've been trying to get my XBOX Flydigi Vader 5S to work on doom eternal; but the controller keeps pressing random buttons and freaking out. Almost every other game: Halo, Diablo, Assasins Creed Valhalla, etc: works perfectly fine with the controller. When I boot up doom eternal nothing works correctly on the controller. Please help, this is very irritating.

GameSir Buying Guide

The GameSir Buying Guide

If your looking to spruce up your setup, get into controller gaming, or replace your old stick drift ridden controllers, then you've definitely come to the right guide. I know with the current large roster of controller selection for any given platform (PC, Xbox, Ps5, Nintendo Switch or Mobile gaming) can be overwhelming. Navigating through the various companies, controller types, joystick modules can be confusing and honestly, often scary.

Since this is the GameSir subreddit, the core of this post, will be centered around specifically GameSir controllers, their types and a buyers guide, to simplify your next or first purchase. But to keep it fair, GameSir isn't the only brand! So read towards the end for suggestions from other brands, albeit not as in depth.

What you need to get started

First lets identify what you need to get started. Obviously first thing would be the need for a new controller. So lets check (✓) that off the list. Second lets figure out our budget, this is very important as your options will expand with a bigger budget, of course! Lastly, where we want to buy the controller from.

GameSir has an Official Global Website, where its ideally the best place to buy at, with recurring discounts and guaranteed warranty, its definitely the first place to look at. BUT, thankfully that's not the only official way to get GameSir controllers with the 1 year warranty!

Current official sources where you can get GameSir controllers, with GameSir's warranty are:

  • Amazon
  • Temu
  • AliExpress:
  • TikTok Shop

There are other official avenues however, warranty isn't necessarily directly with GameSir and your milage may vary in this case.

Note: If you are ever unsure if the store is official or not please visit the GameSir official discord server or ask here in a none-low effort post regarding your potential purchase! The community is always happy to help!

The Purchasing Dilemma!

Well, now we have our store options open for us, but that doesn't mean we bought a controller yet, so how do you choose from the massive selection GameSir has to offer? PC controllers, Console and Mobile controllers, we sure have our work cut out for us!

So let me make it simple and break it down for you!

  • PC Controllers: These controllers under GameSir's brand are often times also multi-platform, able to connect to your PC/laptop, switch and mobile device with no issues.

  • Console Controllers: GameSir currently only supports two types of consoles, one of which GameSir has an official license with. XBOX and Switch. *These controllers also work on PC and often time on mobile depending on the controller and mobile device!*

  • Mobile Controllers: Whether you want to sit back and relax on you tablet, or chill on the bed with a controller, or make your phone into a personal handheld gaming device, this is the category for you. Offering options from the multi-platform controllers and the telescopic controller line as well!

Once you figured out which controller category you want lets discuss a bit more about them shall we? Be sure to read the comparison lists below if anything is unclear. I will also link all the controllers to their GameSir page for extra details!

Multiplatform Controller Guide > PC controllers

Wow! a few options to choose from, and best thing is, at different price points. This applies to a lot of the GameSir portfolio, whether your on a small budget or a respectable one, there are many things to choose from.

The great thing about mulit-platform controllers is their input variability. Being able to have multiple types of input (Xinput and types of Dinput), means greater versatility. Connecting to your pc, whether windows or linux, to your Nintendo Switch and your mobile device!

These controllers are great options for any user at any budget. Especially for convenience! They have access to macros and turbo for your fav single player game! In some, access to Gyro as well, similar to controllers for the iconic Switch gameplay on Mario, or if you're a fancy Gyro player on PC!

But how do you choose? Easy! Budget comes first! The controllers are great, sure not free of their individual issues, but they all offer a great bang for buck. If you need a controller just for the sake of having one, you have options to choose from. If you have a specific taste, want to match up with your setup, then I don't doubt you'll find love in some of these controllers.

On a budget, lets say under 40 dollars, you have some of, if not the best budget controllers on the market. Not saying this because I'm in a GameSir subreddit, but genuinely, Nova 2 lite, and T3L or Tegenaria Lite (MenaRD edition), the Nova lite controller alternatively depending on your budget and wants, offers some cute color variants and a cute little carrying hard shell as well. But in all honestly there are some of the best GameSir has to offer! T3L is especially one of the fastest controllers on the market, and its under $20! Often and in certain stores, you can find it for as cheap as $9!!!!!

But if you decide you want a more "competitive" controller, then you have several options as well. Starting with the Cyclone 2, a great multiplatform controller with TMRs!! Seamless connectivity with windows, Linux, Switch, and mobile devices, The cyclone 2 offers some of the best bang for buck, was and if not still the budget controller KING! Often can be found for $30 with the dock or around $40 depending on the store! But if you have a little more to spend, and want to focus on that Esport Level performance and have a premium controller, then the G7 pro 8k pc (Nioh 3, Champions Edition, Aimlabs, Royal 2 or the new Midnight Blue soon to be released), one of the Top 5 E-sport level custom controllers on the market right now (not custom boards). Packed with GameSir's Mag-Res Gen 2 TMRs, blazing 8000hz polling rate, 4 extra customizable buttons, customizable sticks, and faceplates, this controller has it all (Almost!). If your up for a wired symmetrical option, the Upgrade to the Tegenaria Lite, well the new Tarantula 8k PC wired (MenaRD Edition) is an insane 9 extra remappable button, 8000hz polling and polished with the Gen 2 TMRs as well!

But if your looking to relax, play your favorite game, on a TV or with your friends, then the SuperNova, the big brother to the Nova 2 lite, is one of my favorite controllers for Switch and PC. With customizable faceplates, White or Black for your enthusiast DIY option too, and their special variant faceplates , this brings charm to your cozy setup up. Though it does lack the iconic switch HD rumble, GameSir has you covered with their NovaHD (can now only be found in alternative stores) and Tarantula Pro controllers, so you can enjoy your Switch games, or emulations the way it was meant to be!

Console Controller Guide > Xbox & Switch

This is the list for you console gamers! We've talked a little about the Switch controllers (Multi-platform) ones above, so lets give some as the discord likes to call them "Xboxers" some love here!

From $30 all the way up to $130 GameSir, hands down, offers the best Xbox controllers. There is no debate. Xbox can't beat them, neither can any of the other licensed controllers on the market. They are that good. All (but the base G7 controller) come with either Hall effect or TMRs, so bye bye are the days of stick drift and having to buy another $60 to $200 dollar controllers just because MicroSlop doesn't care about you Gamers that keep their platform alive!

We'll start off with sub $50 dollar segment. The very controllers that had many popular Twitch streamers like Jynxi, ignorant tournament hosts (till this day) and your salty player accuse you or GameSir controllers of cheating 😂!

An Underrated, cheapest alternative to an Xbox controller, the T7 and T7 Pro Floral start us off strong. Truly meant for xbox. Capped at 250hz (double the polling rate of Xbox and Elite controllers) these stick drift resistant controller are gorgeous, I mean just look at the T7 pro floral, I don't know how anyone plays their games without getting distracted by that! Then you have the Iconic G7 line. G7 SE (special edition) [Multi Color Option] and the G7 HE (Hall effect edition, the first upgrade over the original G7 potentiometer line).

Lets not forget the K series controllers. With the Kaleid and Kaleid flux. These controller extenuate the beautiful engineering on GameSir's Behalf, having a fully see through design with amazing topographic and Circuit like designs with RGB to light things up while you play your games!

All these sub $50 controllers are your new best friend for your console.

Now for your more competitively driven players, needing the best of the best! GameSir's got your back with the G7 pro and new T7 pro. With Wired and Wireless Variants. GameSir released near the end of 2025, the first Xbox controllers to have TMRs. The G7 pro Wired (Metallic Silver, Dragons Dogma Collab and the Golden Ombre!) , with many different color ways, is currently the best option over a Xbox Elite controller! and costing half or less than half of a Elite 2 or core controller!

Those are just the wired variants, and not everyone likes to play wired. Even though the 3 meter cable is enough, some of you Xbox gamers love to play connected from your couch, and GameSir did not leave you hanging! With 3 wireless options. The G7 Pro Wuchang Edition, G7 Pro ZZZ Edition, and for you T7 Pro lovers, the T7 Pro Sugar Whirl.

Though if you wanna break the norms, and be different, GameSir just came out with their new Tarantula Pro Xbox wired controller for those symmetrical layout gamers!

Note: These Controller are not only for Xbox, they also work on PC. With the G7, G7 pro, T7 pro Sugar and the Tarantula Pro having 1000hz options ONLY FOR PC (as Xbox is hard capped at 250hz).

*GameSir has amazing bundles on the G7 SE , as well as swappable face plates for the G7 pro, HE and SE, even works on the G7 pro 8k pc!*

Mobile Controllers & Telescopic Controllers > Telescopic mobile controllers

https://preview.redd.it/o3nso6z5l2bh1.jpg?width=1376&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=949bc394264ad963867a834f7fdc6d07e6f89fc2

Damn Multi-platform controllers just keep proving their value. But this is a different type of value here! You see not everyone can afford a PC, or an Xbox, gaming isn't cheap (shiiii neither are these controllers), so lets give some respect for our Mobile Champs over here. Here are some great options for your own personal handheld device, not costing you $300+ for a Switch, Legion Go/ROG ally or Steam Deck! For either your phone, tablet, or switch. These are the perfect companion.

The X5 series are a Mobile gamers buddy right now, with great features and options the x5 lite type C connection and the X5S wireless are some of the best budget telescopic controller out there, with Hall effect joysticks! X5S even features a dual HD rumble motor, perfect for those switch games and detailed vibration! Compatible with the FX series coolers the FX5 and FX5 lite to keep your gaming cool.

Other X series telescopic controllers are the Switch like X2s and the All in one X3 Pro, a intuitive telescopic with a built in cooler for those intensive mobile games. But if your looking to be gaming on the go, and your a subscriber of Cloud Gaming, then the licensed X4 Aileron Xbox Mobile controller is the on the go companion!

If you find some of these options too small for you, like I personally, then you should definitely consider the G8 series. With a type C- connection G8 Galileo and a wireless option the G8+. Offering you longer play time with the wireless and macros with the G8+. The are fantastic controller for your everyday couch gaming or if you are a frequent traveller, can be a nice gaming buddy to have!

If you've noticed there is 1 mobile controller missing from this list! Its my favorite pocket companion the Pocket Taco! A great, and I cannot stress this enough, great spin on retro controller, especially since many retro games are now just easily available on mobile, and those weird little screen buttons that you get with the emulators or games, just honestly don't give me that childhood vibe I had playing with my Gameboy! GameSir also just with their new Voltage Purple variant as well!

The Buyers Choice!

GameSir, has alot to offer, and when I was personally shopping, I wish I had a easy guide, and I know this is a ton to go through but its just easier to have everything simplified and available to you. Hopefully I would be able to update this periodically with any new controller that comes out, or keep this thread open for any updates or news that the GameSir Mods can pin for the next buyer!

But we have a lot to choose from, and there really no wrong answer here. Sure there are controllers I would personally recommend over the other, for example, always go with the Nova 2 lite over the older Nova lite controller. But you have the power to decide! At the end of the day, its going to be YOUR controller, not any one else's so, just make the choice that makes sense for you, and enjoy gaming with it!

But this wouldn't truly be a buyers guide without some recommendations and reasoning behind those options! So here we go!

PC Controllers:

  • T3L: Retro, Retro, Retro vibe. in all honesty this controller hits HOME! a little too much. Symmetrical, PS2 controller-esque design, with hall effect drift resistant joysticks, SOME OF THE LOWEST LATENCY ON THE MARKET for just under $15! AND wired? yeah, I think the amount of games I played on this, just made me feel like I was a kid again and I got a second one for my HTPC, JUST to play with my brother like the good old days!

  • Nova 2 lite: This Sub $30 dollar controller is amazing for PC! Especially, if your someone d-pad oriented, you periodize those angular hits, that great feel for platformer games for your accuracy and enjoyment! Has optimal latency, 1000hz polling and membrane buttons for those that don't enjoy loud controllers (do note the d-pad is mechanical!).

  • Cyclone 2: Hard to beat it at sub $50. Everybody knows RGB makes you a better gamer, and having those super sensitive, accurate and precise TMRs, with those mechanical buttons, ouf! Just makes even better when I'm dropping bodies in FPS!

  • G7 pro 8k pc and Tarantula 8k: Yeah I don't really need to speak too much about this, super low latency, reprogrammable buttons and for PC, competitive play, these controllers are insane for sub $100 controllers.

Console Controllers:

  • G7 SE, Kalied and Tarantula Xbox: Just can't see why anyone would buy an Xbox stock or Elite controller when these exist for a fraction of the price! Even for PC, tournaments these are great options for casual and to a degree competitive gaming!

  • G7 Pro: Yes old batches had issues with the triggers, but honestly nothing to fear with warranty, and the older batches have supposedly been phased out! These are really go Pro controllers, With some Insane customization on the GameSir Nexus app as well.

  • Super Nova: I have had the most frustrating Mario Kart sessions with these controllers, and all my friends LOVED them, they loved the cutsie faceplat swaps and honestly I've seen many setups and Switch setups featuring this controller, despite the lack of HD rumble, its super solid even for PC!

Telescopic and Mobile Controllers:

  • X5S: One of the cheaper and better quality telescopic controllers on the market, if your in need of one, and have the budget or can secure the budget for it, I would say have no fear. Comes with a carry hard shell too!

  • G8+: This thing is a beast, I have played through some oldies with it on my own, and it has served me well! Before I modded my switch joy cons with TMRs, this was my and kinda still is my go to controller for switch when I'm at home!

Alternative Controller Options

If GameSir's options just feel lackluster to you, there are MANY, other brands that I would personally recommend, some for quality, some for features and some for the love of the game.

  • Machenike: Their new F1 pro controller, symmetrical 8000hz polling E-sports, with TMRs as well. part of that TOP 5 E-sport controllers I mentioned above along side the G7 pro 8k and Tarantula 8k (soon Tarantula Ultra).

  • ZD: Ultimate Legend, modular E-sport Controller, Genuinely my Fav aside from Gamesir! now with 8000hz polling, Various joystick module options to choose from, including the same module the Mag-Res Gen 2 TMRs use (JS 13 pro). Also look at the ZD Super Legend Excellence and the O+ excellence. Hard to pass up quality or modularity!

  • BBW or Mojhon: One of the most recommended FPS based controllers the Mojhon Blitz 2 TMR edition, has been my fav for games like split gate and The Finals. But if your looking for quality and ingenuity, check out the Rainbow 3 Pro, with Capacitive sticks!

  • Beitong: Recently some really great quality controllers have come out of beitong, The KP70, rivaling flydigi's Apex 5 series with Adaptive triggers, the modular Pangu series controller, and their KP40D controller as well.

  • Leadjoy: Oh boy, let me tell you about leadjoy! Actually I think their own links will speak for themselves, with new Js 13 pro TMR modules, the best in the game like the G7 pro and the ZD ultimate legend! Amazing features and an amazing software, the Xeno Plus and Saber Plus are hard to beat even by GameSirs Standards! I can't wait for their new Xeno Pro controller myself!

  • Mobapad: The HuBen2 is a great switch controller that is hard Not to recommend!

  • 8bitdo: Hard to pass up on a 8bitdo controller! Great D-pad, great custom retro options and great quality! The Ultimate 2.4ghz, Ultimate 2c Wired and Wireless, Pro 3 and the Ultimate 2 are some of the best value controller you can get, if it fits your taste! Their Bluetooth controllers are also great for switch!

  • Flydigi: Although I hate recommending these controllers due to their quality and lack of proper CS. Gadget Hyper does make these bearable, especially with the new Vader 5 v2 fixes, however their Apex 5 has great Windows support for Adaptive triggers, which has been positively reviewed, they have nice looking collabs as well (Honkai Star rail, Goku, Wuchang). An alternative to the great G7 SE series, is the Vader 5S, their new xbox licensed controller, that genuinely is their best product so far! As well as their budget Direwolf 4 Controller rivaling the Nova 2 Lite. Gadget Hyper has amazing warranty and customer service, so if you consider a flydigi, only consider it through them!

Woah! that was alot, I really do hope this guide has helped you navigate some of the very dense controller market out there. I do want to give a few shoutouts to people who have helped me put this together.

Do leave comment if you have any questions and join the discord server for any extra help, even if its about the other controllers, we have many collectors and testers to help out!

Xbox elite series 2 controller connectivity problems

Hello everyone, i’ve started having problems with my Xbox elite series 2 controller for the past few weeks. For some reason the controller randomly disconnects every now and then, and won’t connect again until I have to plug it in with a wire connected to the Xbox or a separate cord connected to something else. And most of the time, it won’t even connect and I can’t even use it wirelessly anymore for some reason. Can someone help me fix this problem? Thanks

What controller should I buy

So my xsx fh5 controller just died on me this week. For a bit of contexte i must have put close to 5k hours on this controller and i was wondering what controller to buy. I checked out the raser Wolverine v3 pro, the Asus rog raikiri ii and the gamesir g7 pro zzz. But I know that the g7 is a budget and I made to die after 1.5k hours and the other two have mecanical/software issues

- My max budget would be ~200$
- And i need it to be wireless
- Needs to be compatible with Xbox
- I would prefer tmr but he is also good
- And ofc it needs to have a good Life expectancy

So if you think that there is any controller I missed I would like to know and I would also like to have your opinion. Thanks a lot

Looking for a new pro controller for Xbox. Any suggestions?

Hi, I'm looking for a new controller after 5 years of using a Wolverine v2 Chroma. There are so many good controllers out there but I'm worried about QC and reliability..

Budget : up to **200-250€**

Region : **France**

Platform : **Xbox**

Specs : **TMR or HE joysticks, microswitch buttons (I don't like membrane), wired or wireless, but ideally the latter, and I'd like something with extra shoulder buttons and/or paddles but that's not really a dealbreaker for me.**

I won't use any PC controllers with adapters.

So far I've been looking into things like the **Wolverine V3,** (but I'm worried about QC, especially with the cables), the **G7 Pro** (tho the trigger issues are also worrying), the **Vader 5s,** and the **Asus Rog Raikiri 2**. I'm also curious about **8Bitdo** but I'm confused by the sheer amount of options available.

I've already had a bad experience with a G7 Pro that I had to refund because the right trigger was acting up straight out of the box, but maybe that was finally fixed? Also I've stopped using my V2 Chroma because of disconnections due to the USB port, so I'd like to avoid anything that has similar issues. Maybe a custom cable guard could make the Wolverine V3 Pro more reliable?

I'm playing all sorts of games, FPS, single player, action RPGs.

Again, my main concern is **reliability**..

Thanks!

[xbox] controller still has drift after changing joysticks

Still learning and any tips are definitely welcome, but I’ve been trying a few new joystick replacements and none of them worked. I even changed the potentiometers and nothing… I also cleaned them out as gently as I could too. In the first pic I was wondering if I burned where the potentiometers are if I burned it too much. Any advice?
