Finally got them! I consider these to be Holy Grails in Xenosaga collection (next to X EP III Lenticular Edition). EP II was distributed as preorder bonus in Japan and later in USA as a part of Hori Memory Pack, and EP III was distributed as preorder bonus in Japan Animate shop, these didnt come sealed or anything.

In light of today's absurd announcement by Sony to cease all physical versions of their games by 2028, I went out and got some long overdue goodies at my local game store. Currently playing through xenogears on my steam deck but will be playing all three saga games on my ps3.

Je suis un collectionneur des series Xeno, je fais donc Xenogears, Xenosaga et Xenoblade.
J'ai commencé avec Xenoblade chronicles 3D à l'époque de sa sortie et depuis j'ai eu un immense coup de coeur pour la série Xeno 🥰
Je n'ai fais Xenogears et les Xenosaga que l'année dernière, après avoir modifié une PS2 afin de lire les jeux imports. J'avais déjà une jolie collection Xenoblade depuis quelques années mais j'ai eu envie de l'étendre à la série Xeno au complet après avoir confirmé que j'adorais les autres jeux :)
Je présente ma collection sur le compte Tiktok que j'ai mis sur mon profil. Même si il n'y aura pas beaucoup d'update avant 2027.
Je compte agrandir cette collection au fil des années 👀
J'attend de déménager afin d'investir dans des vitrines et des étagères afin de bien pouvoir tout protéger et exposer dignement 😇
Surtout pour la figurine de kos-mos 1/4 et sa Dollfie dream. Je prendrai évidemment celle de Momo, l'année prochaine.

I just ordered my copy of Episode 1 NTSC u on ebay and was wondering if there was any texture packs to make the game look akin to a remaster :)
Ok I finished episode 1 and what a game it was, I was writing a huge review but since i just finished the game and felt more like a comparison to gears than everything else (which wasn’t my intent, because yeah i still prefer gears but this games does some stuff better and i just wanted to make it more about this game than a gears glaze post) I will simply give a quick feedback.
I liked the story, the only problems for me were pacing and amount of info tease, but it’s just ep 1 of a 3 ep saga so I’ll let em cook.
I really liked the characters but I found them way too stiff so far compared to gears, but that’s another thing that I expect to improve as they develop during the next episodes since again this is only episode 1.
I liked the combat (even if I ignored the boost for most than half of the game), and I found it a cool evolution of the gears one, my only problems is that it’s too slow and some enemies are just bs.
I liked the agws but I found them a bit too situational, in battle it was cooler than gears (which wasn’t just a equip check basically) but I don’t like the designs as much, there is simply less variety and less bold choices, which again this seems it wants to be a more grounded story and the designs reflect that so it is subjective.
But the thing I liked the least was probably the lack of details during character customisation/combat, and a general lack of qol features, which I mean it’s a ps2 era jrpg, it is what it is, but I still feel like it’s not that good on that side.
Cutscenes were great tho I miss the animated ones, but they are a big improvement.
Overall I admit I struggled at certain points for various reasons and wanted to drop it a couple of times, but I pushed through and ended up overall enjoying my time with it (while I enjoyed a lot the start and the end I found the middle section less enjoyable on average) and I am excited to see were the story goes from here.
I also wanna note that a lot of struggle could’ve also be caused by me comparing it to gears a bit too often and generally just playing most of it during a not so great time in my personal life, so it’s not completely the fault of the game but despite it being a good game I still can’t help but see it as very flawed in certain areas.
Now I am gonna go download the recreation of pied piper see ya.
Edit: also feel free to ask anything if you’re curious, I am playing the games of the whole Xeno series in order for the first time so it can be something about my general outsider impression of future games too
Hello, as the title explains, I get softlocked in Xenosaga Episode 1 whenever I open the Character tab in the menu, Shion and KOS-MOS 3D models don't show up, and none of my inputs do anything, the game and music are still running but I get stuck. (The 3D models still show up in battle and while changing formations, the only reason I know that the models are supposed to show up in the Character tab is because I looked it up).
I'm using PCSX2 as my emulator, I tried both the Stable and Nightly versions, both latest versions and older ones as well, and I still get the same issue, I obviously didn't install any patches, mods or texture packs, I already tried to reinstall the emulator, and get the ISO from different sites, (for reference, I get the same issue on a JP copy, so I have to believe it's an emulator problem), and I already brute forced every possible option in the settings, I'm kinda out of ideas at this point, so if anyone has any ideas on what is causing this problem and maybe how to fix it, I will be eternally grateful, even sharing your emulator version and settings you used T_T

I was in Akihabara and found these special edition xenosaga boxes. I've never seen these before and couldn't find out anything online are they actual ps2s or like special editions of the games with like a book inside.

My team is roughly around level 35 and I have a save state immediately after the Albedo fight (it took me like 20 mins i didn't want to do that again) meaning unless I fully reset my team consists of Shion, Jr, and chaos. Is there any way for me to beat this without grinding? I am on the brink of losing my patience with both this fight and the game in general so any help would be greatly appreciated.
