For people who don't like their latest album, Nininshou, why?

To preface, I'm not slandering on anyone's opinion on the album. I personally love the new direction, but music is subjective, and I understand not everyone feels the same way.

But it always had me wondering, to anyone who didn't like the album when it came out and/or still doesn't like it, why?

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Just for the hell of it.

TL Project and App for Nininshou, Genkouyomi

Hey all!

Our group has been working on a polished translation for the Nininshou epistolary novel that goes with Nininshou the album. In addition, given how unique the experience of the physical novel is, we've also made a web app that does its best to emulate the experience that n-buna/Yorushika intended to give through this album.

This has been in the works for a few months now and a lot of people have put in their heart and soul into this, so we do hope that everyone enjoys it! And also, if you have the means, PLEASE do buy the original if you enjoy this. It's their main source of income for this album after all.

https://www.genkouyomi.com/

Currently available:

  • English
  • Spanish

Coming soon:

  • Indonesian (Work in Progress)
  • French (Work in Progress)
  • Russian (Work in Progress)

Tips:

  • This application relies on local storage to save your progress and what not, so please do consider turning it on for this website if it's off! It will save you a lot of time, for basically 0 space!
  • This application also caches into a ~20MB offline version, so you can open it offline or turn it into a home screen app. On iOS, you can do that via hitting Share, and clicking "Add to Home Screen"

If you'd like to join the translation team for your language or help translate the novel into another language, we'd love to hear from you!

If you see any bugs or potential improvements to the app, please do reach out to me either here, on discord, or \@andy_yoru. Webdev is hard (for me), so feel free to badger me with bugs 🎯

Thank you, and we hope you enjoy reading!

Huge thanks to everyone who worked on this as well, please hit the Credits button and see all of their beautiful names 😄

Also, your usual legal-ese disclaimer*:* This is an unofficial, fan-made passion project. All contributors are volunteers, and there is no financial compensation. All rights to the original belong to n-buna/Yorushika/Universal Music Group/Kodansha.

My Personal Ranking depends on my taste ( Don't take too serious )

- S - I can listen some of them on loop

- A - On My Playlist, I don't skip If any of them pop up on shuffle

- B - Some Of Them aren't on my playlist which means I don't listen often

- C - Doesn't mean they're not good, just not my taste

Best Yorushika Magic Lantern songs are the unreleased ones

Yeah fr why didn't they just release it in 2023. I thought magic lantern was just a mediocre album till I heard the unreleased ones. Like the unreleased ones just upgrade the entire album to a whole another level. Like idk how to describe it but like the unreleased ones make other songs sound better too when u lsiten to the album.

Is there anywhere I can purchase N-buna signature guitar?

This guitar です。

I thought it was only produce by ESP to be a guitar just for and only own by N-buna.

But turns out somehow I find someone who have exact same guitar as N-buna-san (which is the signature guitar). Do they selling it in the physical store and you can only buy from there?

Help Figuring Out A Similar Sounding Song/OST

The Tenth Night - Yorushika
0:56 ~ 1:04

Those keys in the timestamp sound very similar to either a song or ost I've heard before but I can't recall from where. Hoping someone here would be familiar with what I'm trying to remember, it's been bugging me ever since I first listened to the song. tyia

Made my own tier list!

The top 3 tiers are ranked, the rest isn't. Let me know what you think!

Masterpieces: songs I can listen to, on loop, for a whole day, and never get tired

S: the heavy hitters. Any one of these, in the right context, might make me cry.

Almost S: these are all missing a slight push to be exceptional.

A: songs in my Yorushika playlist I don't skip

B: songs in my Yorushika playlist I sometimes skip

C: songs that aren't in my playlist that I don't care for

D: songs I don't like or think are flawed

What album do you listen to the most?

I put on their latest album pretty much every time I need to clean or do something that I want to feel soothed while doing. I like their old music but their latest album just stays on top right now!

I only saw a cover video on youtube and a live concert version. I'm so happy to see it on spotify!

My personal Yorushika tier list

There's like over half the discography missing, I left out what I couldn't really rank/didn't know well enough to rank

More songs of Magic Lantern just got released on streaming!

Just came across some songs that I didn’t know before while looping the Yorushika playlist. Turns out there were some songs that could only be heard in the physical album but now they are all available on streaming platforms.

Maybe this exposes me as a lame fan, but I still got super excited to learn that there are more Yorushika songs I didn’t know about and I fell in love with them instantly 😍

What do you think of the instrumentals from magic lantern?

currently playing the fifth night. there are so many instrumentals in this album and they give off such a different vibe from the rest of their tracklist. for some reason, i feel like the instrumentals in magic lantern feel heavier (in a good sense) and more suffocating and nostalgic whereas the instrumentals in dakaboku, elma, summer grass, and underdog feels more fleeting. it feels like i’m surrounded by music and for some reason makes me want to cry????

personal tierlist

top 5 is ordered the rest is not. i've listened to more yorushika songs than this, these are just the ones i listen to regularly. i find myself biased towards their first 3 albums because they're a flavor of pop-rock that i personally really like
