Pixologic

Hopefully don’t get censored for griping about this… who else misses Pixologic? Every year a revolutionary update that change the entire world of organic modelling. Been years of underwhelming changes, and not enough quality of life fixes. Yes, the ipad app is pretty awesome, but most of us don’t really want that, certainly not at the expense of desktop improvements.

Here are some things I’d like to see:

PBR support
Non poly-based painting
Subfolders
INSTANCES
Real curves
Modifiers (smooth, vdb, bevel, array, you name it)
Do away with 2.5D (or just avoid it better).
Referenced geo
Could we just make empty subtools for importing and retopology?
Some advanced brush dynamics (multiple alphas)

Sadly like all 3D software it seems the longer it’s out the more it feels like plugins where everything is designed differently (eg noisemaker, polygroupit, redshift, Bevelpro)

What do you want ZBrush to add? Maybe someone will listen.

Edit: Gonna keep adding to my wishlist as I remember things…

-Don’t just remove the entire web library of free matcaps that was always there
-Lights that are lights.
-Proper cameras - or am I missing something?
-For the love of god can I just name my tools and save them without renaming the geo? How is this program the industry standard with things like this.
-some standard 3D transforms?
-Make mirror and weld have a positive/negative toggle for the love of sweet baby jesus?
-A standard scaling/unit system without a plugin?
-Make dynamesh have a polycount value? Joseph drust made a plugin for this but it wasn’t maintained
-Do away with primitive tools that can’t be deleted.
-Turn off spotlight projection by default or so help me lord.
-Make a not stupid way of getting rid of trash brushes from the palette (deleting them out of obscure system file paths)
-More non-destructive stuff - eg editable curve copies for threads and things?
-Disk read meshes that can refresh for booleans and the like/arrays

Can a curveflat have pointed ends?

Hi, I’d love some help as I’m trying to create fur using a flat curve brush, but instead of it being square, I’d like the tips to be pointed. Do you know how to do that? I’ve looked in the brush settings and the stroke settings but I can’t figure it out! Any advice would be great – thanks a lot !

Toxel fan art figure I sculpted and resin printed

I sculpted it in ZBrush and printed it in resin on the Elegoo Mars 5 Ultra.

I think Toxel might be one of the cutest baby Pokémon ever made 😛

Any Help Would Be Much Appreciated!

I've been working on this skull off and on for a while. I ended up getting these small holes in the mesh, didn't think it was a huge deal because I thought I'd be able to fix it pretty easily. I was wrong, every time I try to fix this it ends up just making a mess of the mesh.

Any suggestions from the zbrush demigods

Gundam Federation Pilot in GM Ground Type

This is a project I've been working on little by little since January 2025. I am a big fan of UC Mobile Suit Gundam and wanted to create my own character.

I sculpted this in Zbrush starting from a sphere

Hello,

I hope you are all doing incredibly well!

I am writing as I am looking for a skilled 3D designer to help me develop a collection of highly organic and sculptural jewellery pieces for a new brand.

The designs will be inspired by natural organic forms such as trees, insects, plants, and abstract natural textures. These references are for mood and direction only. The goal is to create original, unique designs with strong artistic identity rather than copying existing pieces.

The work will involve transforming concepts into production ready 3D moldes suitable for casting and manufacturing. The final files must be technically correct for jewellery production, including proper thickness, structural integrity, and stones where applicable.

Requirements:

- experience with jewellery CAD or sculptural 3D modelling
- knowledge of manufacturing constraints for casting and finishing
- ability to create organic, fluid, highly detailed forms

Deliverables:

- 3D CAD files ready for manufacturing
- STL files suitable for printing and casting
