Genuinely torn…
Trying to make a decision here I’ve been on the fence for about a day on which way to go. Here’s a question for you all since this would be my first Zenith purchase. Would the 18k bracelet off of a Chrono master sport fit here? Has anyone attempted to do that? I would love to have a full gold bracelet. Otherwise, having one made might be the best way to go. Either way these watches are gorgeous.
Got my first Zenith
Went for the Defy El Primero 21 titanium with rubber. Feels and looks great. Very happy on this acquisition.
Green and gold comb - yay or nay?
Would you add this Zenith Chronomaster Sport to your collection? Shot by Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.
Top five watches.
Curious, if you had to sell all your watches and keep justified in one box, which would you keep?
I think this is probably my rotation, though it kills me to leave my North flag out.
My Zenith Grail
Zenith El Primero Yoshida LE (1 of 250). My Zenith Grail, and although I will pick up a Tri-colored sub dial El Primero Chrono someday, I was smitten by this clean ice blue dial with contrasting dark bezel. I need to grab a pic of the movement, but you already know the beauty of an El Primero is the dimensional movement, one of the prettiest movements on the market.
Zenith Chronomaster Original vs Triple Calendar
I’ve settled on one of the above for my next watch. I love the history of the Zenith Chronomaster but can’t decide between these two. What are people’s thoughts/experiences with either/both?
Does anyone else see the Chronomaster Original as elongated rather than round? Also some wrist shots :)
So I’ve been in love with the dial of the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar for a while now, and I finally found a store that had one.
After trying it on, I realized that something about the watch didn’t sit quite right with me. It took me a while to figure out exactly what it was.
Several reviewers have criticized the Chronomaster Original for being a bit of a “flyover,” with the relatively flat lugs leaving a visible gap above the wrist. I actually don’t think that part is too bad. At least on my wrist it wore pretty well from that perspective.
What bothered me personally was the perceived shape of the watch.
On most watches, the eye primarily reads the case as a round object, while the lugs curve downward and feel more like extensions connecting the case to the strap or bracelet.
With the Chronomaster Original, the lugs are relatively long, flat and sharply defined, so my eye doesn’t really separate them from the case. Instead, I perceive the whole thing — case + lugs — as one shape. Instead of round, it looks narrow and elongated.
This short video might convey this a little bit better as it gives some 3D perspective.

And with a strap (which they had on the regular Chronomaster) the lugs looked a little like batman ears. My wife actually sees them as the opening of a wrench.
I’m not sure if I just don’t like the shape or whether this is something that would grow on me (much like some people need time to acquire a taste for rectangular watches). I do know that this kind of angular late-60s/70s case design has made something of a comeback recently — the PRX being an obvious example (which BTW looks like the poor man's Zenith Triple Calendar):
Anyway I wanted to share the observation and add a few wrist shots for anyone considering this watch. My wrist is 17 cm and fairly flat across the top.
Traded my Submariner for this. Best decision🔥
Just added this Zenith Chronomaster Sport in rose gold to the collection.
Traded my Submariner for it and I’m genuinely so happy with the result. Such a brutal watch in person. The proportions, the dial and the overall feel are simply incredible.
Definitely one of those watches that completely wins you over once it’s on the wrist.
Chronomaster Open vs. Chronomaster Sport
Hello! I am in the market for a chonograph and love the movement history of the Zenith Chronomaster. Was hoping to get some feedback on the newest releases of the Chronomaster Open and the Chronomaster Sport. Which would you pick? Has anybody else decided between the two?
My current rotation is in the second picture. I rarely wear anything nicer than chinos and a polo shirt so I really just stick to sport watches. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
New strap
New suede strap from Strapco. Love how it matches the blue on the chrono.
Leather vs. Steel
My little Zenith Prime finally came back from service and now it’s time to find it a bracelet. What do you guys think about the leather vs. the steel?
Chronomaster Revival Shadow for Daily?
Looking for a lightweight watch for daily wear, casual, beach/marine environment…shorts and Ts mostly. I like idea of chrono function. Thoughts on this? Thanks
Next watch
Current collection, Tudor Black Bay GMT 41 and Rolex Submariner Green Bezel. I like and plan on owning all three watches posted, was curious about which one would you get first if you had my two watch collection.
Will the chronomaster sport release with the new ZENCLASP??
all these years I’ve been held back by the fact that the clasp on this watch was below what’s expected of a 12k watch
now that they released a new clasp, is this going to be featured in the chronomaster sport model?
thanks
