Chronomaster original boutique
New purchase to me. Feels great on the wrist.

Sunday morning rabbit hole. The Chronomaster Master original is such an amazing group from Zenith. Here you see side by side, the revival manufacture conversion, the regular tricolor version in the boutique edition from left to right. All three are amazing watches with heritage and great styling.
The manufacture version has the caliber 400 and then lacquered white dial with blue subdials.
The boutique edition has the same 3600 caliber as the regular version. It changes the color scheme to blue and white. Besides the obvious blue dial, the area peripheral to minute tracker is also blue and the chrono seconds is white instead of red.
I have not included the regular production black dial, regular blue dial and the Hodinkee salmon dial editions.
Dressing down the traditionelle. Out and about with the dog.
It finally stopped raining and the sun came out. Perfect timing to get some wax on the barbours, ready for the fall.
Enjoying the Traditionnelle in a less formal setup. Hope everyone had a nice weekend.
All watches except mechanical hand wound watches should have a screw down crown. I get that screwing and unscrewing the crown constantly can lead to an error of the mechanism, so stop using the crown as a fidget. If your watch is automatic it should rarely require the crown for winding. For quartz that’s a never. Having a screw down mechanism improves the effective water resistance. If I am going to wear a watch with 100m water resistance, that implies goes to the beach and swimming with it. Now I may horse around with my kids in the water or do some water sports when at it. Well that’s a much more common activity in the world than needing to dive 50m below the surface. A screw down crown makes much more sense than (true) water resistance over 50m.
UPDATE: folks, this is not about the accuracy of the water resistance ratings. It is about screw down crowns. Why not have them unless you need to hand wound your damn watch?
