I just bought this Barbour after trying several models. I went for this Ashby size XL. Size L was perfect but I felt it tight on the shoulders and chest and, since I hope to wear this jacket for decades and since I cannot get thinner than I am now, I bought the XL. However after one week of wearing it I realized it may be too big because I fell a lot of fabric moving around. I am thinking about sending it to a tailor specialized in Barbour to take away some of it in the sides.
What do you guys think?

The moment I picked it up I could tell something wasn't right, and the lack of Wax Care instructions in the lining suggested the same.

Despite the J.Crew website copy saying otherwise, the Barbour x J.Crew Beaufort in 'Apple Green' is a Casual, non-waxed jacket, product code MCA1167.

Here are some photos that my phone refused to get rhe colors right on anyway; the green is definitely more of a rich emerald like the website photos.

The tiny bit of good news is, it's 100% Beaufort otherwise. Game pocket, wallet pocket, storm cuffs in the sleeves - they're all there. So that's nice to see, at least.

In further bad news, so is the Blackwatch Tartan Barn Jacket. Huge letdown.

To think I left a lunch at Via Carota early for this 🤣

Apart from my jackets I sure love my sweaters. Quite a collection so far. Do you enjoy Barbour sweaters?

$495, 100% cotton and normal numeric sizing, so assuming the sleeves are cotton.

The color... takes some getting used to I suppose? But I will say - I think they have out- Paul Smith'd the Paul Smith Gamefair on this one.

The jacket is holding up fine and is still very weather resistant. It gets decent beading, comparable to my DWR GoreTex jacket tbh.

So if you have a jacket that is completely disgusting and there's no alternative, I would say go for it. It's better than not being able to wear it at all. I will have plenty of use left in mine so no regrets.

I am very undecided between those two sizes. I think the M is more relaxed and more true to the Barbour style, but the sleeves are ridiculously long and I have to roll them up.
The S is more fitted to my frame but if layered heavily ( shirt plus sweater ) like in the pictures it feels a tiny full ( nothing too crazy tho).
Which one of the two do you recommend?

6ft 185Ibs 44 inch chest. Do you think this fits decent or too big? I would probably wear crewneck sweaters under it. (Ignore the shorts lol)

Saw this old (1991?) photo on my fridge. (Northumbria left & Beaufort right before you ask). I've had a few orders from couples recently and I'm wondering if the trend from the 80's is making a comeback. Does anyone else have any photos to either support or contradict this? Back in 1999 we had a dating section on the web site to get like minded equestrians together, maybe I should bring it back for lovers of Barbour????

Hi everyone. Sorry for yet another Bedale sizing question, but I’ve just bought my first Barbour jacket and I can’t decide whether size 42 or 40 fits better.
I’m 184 cm (6'0") and weigh 88 kg (194 lbs).
I’m wearing a thick fleece underneath the jacket, and I’ll mainly be using it for everyday wear and occasionally for hunting.
Both sizes feel roomy and comfortable, so I’m having a hard time deciding which one looks and fits best.
The first three pictures are size 42, and the last three are size 40.

Its a barbour bedale 38, about 11 years old. Lots of repairs and rewaxes in its history!

What is the best way to remove it without damaging the waxed fabric?
