How difficult is this to fix/repair?

This is a hole in my 1.5 year old Beaufort. It is where the pockets meet the jacket. Is this something that can be fixed by my local alterations lady or do I need to send it in?

Thrifted this today!

Truly so so excited about this. It was in the little boys coat section and priced at $9.99 😳 I’m having a hard time finding info on it though, was trying to figure out how old it is. Is anyone familiar with this style? It has a removable hood and removable arms to turn into a vest.

Solway Zipper, 1 Crown all the trimmings

Picked this up earlier in the year and loving it so much. Has the belt (it’s looped on the back at present), liner and hood. I bought it from someone who sent it to Barbour for a re wax and a couple of repairs, see sleeves, before selling. It used to be his father’s. Can safely say I will wear this till I die.

New Barbour gifted to me. Ruined?

Hello,

My father-in-law just gifted me a brand new Barbour Bedale The only problem with this is that it was in storage for a long time and it has a very strong moldy smell. I think it needs to be washed and rewaxed, but I'm afraid to ruin it completely and also ruin my washing machine. Does anyone have any suggestions? Can I still save the jacket? It has all the original tags.

Does anyone know what the value of this is?

Found this old coat while looking through my late grandfathers things. Any help would be appreciated.

Modified Beaufort sample?

My uncle just picked this up in the UK and didn’t realize how unique it was (it’s his first Barbour). I’ve never seen anything like it. He says it may be a sample 1 of 1.

Do any of y’all know anything else about it?

Barbour "Re-Loved" voucher limitation

Just thought I would provide some clarity here based on my experience of Barbour's 'Re-Loved' voucher scheme.

I had an older jacket which was unlikely to sell for much and which I don't wear. I figured I would send it back to Barbour via the website scheme, which entitles you to a £50 voucher to use toward the cost of a new jacket purchased through the Barbour website.

Having now received the voucher, I can confirm that it does not apply to any collaboration jacket in your basket, only the core line of Barbour jackets.

This was perhaps to be expected, but I also think not particularly explicit in the T&Cs (below) - even where it is says the voucher only applies to "Barbour, Barbour International and Barbour Beacon wax jackets", it does not obviously exclude collabs:

Barbour Re-Loved | Terms and Conditions

  • Your old Barbour wax jacket can be exchanged in the UK via Barbour website, www.barbour.com/uk/re-loved and at Barbour’s participating retail stores*.
  • In exchange for your old Barbour wax jacket, Barbour will give you a £50 discount off a new Barbour wax jacket purchased in participating stores (see below).
  • This offer only applies to men’s and women’s Barbour, Barbour International and Barbour Beacon wax jackets. Children’s wax jackets are not included in this promotion.
  • The £50 discount can only be redeemed against purchase of a new Barbour wax jacket at the full recommended retail price (RRP). If a discount has already been applied on the jacket, the £50 discount will be applied to the original RRP of the product and not the discounted price. The £50 discount cannot be used toward the purchase of a Re-Loved jacket. Only one £50 discount can be used for each new jacket purchased
  • The £50 discount is valid at the time you return your old Barbour wax jacket and cannot be used at any other time.
  • If your old Barbour wax jacket is exchanged via Barbour’s website then your voucher can only be used when purchasing your new Barbour jacket online and cannot be used in Barbour’s participating retail stores.
  • By accepting the £50 voucher for online exchanges, you agree your old wax jacket will become the property of Barbour. Once returned to Barbour, your old Barbour wax jacket may be repaired and recycled in whole or part and may be resold to another customer. Whilst we will make every effort to recycle old jackets, jackets beyond repair may not be recycled or resold. We are unable to inform you as to what has happened to your old wax jacket.
  • The £50 voucher is valid only for you and is non-transferable. It cannot be re-sold, transferred or exchanged and the voucher can only be redeemed in full on one occasion (as outlined above).

Anyway, a first world problem, but hopefully helpful to anyone wondering if this was a route to a discounted collab jacket.

Beaufort vs Classic Beaufort

Hello, does anyone know what is the difference between Barbour Beaufort and Barbour Classic Beaufort? And most importantly, which one is better?

I love my Barbour jacket 😍

I brought this bad boy on a recent trip London and I’ve never felt more aligned with a piece of clothing in my life 🤣

That being said, I think I might give it a light re-waxing soon, considering it’s starting to really smell a bit crayon-y (plus I have a small hole to patch up). I just don’t want it to lose its patina! Any insight?

Does anyone know what Barbour jacket Mr Tom Chamberlain is wearing in this photo?

Is Barbour still making the Ogston?

I really like the look of this jacket and thought an olive Ogston would be a nice addition to my bark Beaufort. I notice the coat doesn't appear on the Barbour site anymore though. I can find a few online at various retailers but it seems stock is low, most sizes are sold out etc.

Has the Ogston been discontinued?

New jacket problem

Hello everyone.
Yesterday I purchased brand new jacket and wore it today first time. My problem is the white stuff on the jacket that seems to get from the inside of the jacket. I got super sad because the jacket is fairly expensive but those white things keep coming out. Is this normal? Should take it back to the store?

I Bought a SS27 Sample. (For Science!)

Presenting the SS27 'Re-Engineer' jacket in Sage (It's Sage. That's really the reason I decided to take a shot at this strange, unnamed SS27 sample. That and the cool stand collar). There are a couple of these floating around the platforms, and they all have the same torn-off label interestingly. But they're also quite complete, having full labels and even coming with the pins. It's got all the Re-Engineered hallmarks - modern sizing and style, the subdued brown R-E specific tartan pattern, etc etc. But a Re-Engineered what?

From the slash pockets I'm thinking maybe a Re-Engineered Transport, but I also think from the limited labeling this one might not actually make it to production.

That'd be too bad, though I suppose understandable since brand-new in Sage this one is definitely on the understated side. I think once it wears in and starts showing some color, it'll be awesome; but out of the box it comes across fairly un-Barbour like. No trademark bellows pockets or visible corduroy or tartan - the inner collar is corduroy but dark; the only tartan on this guy is the upper patch in the interior between the shoulders. IMO, that's a mistake on the Re-Engineered models but then I have an appreciation for all of the models while I understand that the Re-Engineered models are an attempt to appeal to a new sort of customer which I fully support.

Anyway - on to the jacket itself. I love it! It's basically the sleeker Sage counterpart to the Re-Engineered Utility Bedale from this past season. It's definitely a city-style jacket, given the aforementioned less-traditional styling cues. Instead it's incredibly sleek, hitting right at the hip and feeling very sophisticated and sporty at the same time. In fact the only outward indication that it's a Barbour is the shortened button placket that, when worn open at least, allows the ring zip pull to sit out in the open. It also gives the jacket a bit more mobility when sitting or climbing stairs etc, something I actually find myself appreciating as I head up from the subway and such. The slash pockets are definitely hand-warmer only, being a bit too small for much utility, but they are moleskin-lined and the pocket entries are the familiar fold-over design from the Transport. The only other pocket is the tiny little interior pocket that holds the tag, so you'll definitely not be carrying much in this one.
It has a solid drawstring waist, with nice proper metal keepers - a _huge_ improvement over the Re-Engineered Spey's version which don't actually hold meaning the jacket just goes right back to wherever it naturally sits within two minutes of pulling the drawstrings. It's also got a foldaway emergency hood, which I've gone on record as appreciating for the way they add structure to stand collars that might otherwise become floppy. The thick stand collar on this one makes it punch far above its weight in warmth as well, trapping heat on the neck very efficiently. Does mean it's a bit toasty to wear in the last couple days of spring here in NY though.

One weird thing I think is something to do with the fact that it's a sample, is that the inner placket is stitched open at the bottom, middle, and top. Not sure what that's about and it seems to make zipping up a bit more difficult so I figure I'll give it a go with the seam ripper but if anyone's got some insight I'm all ears.

All in all though for now with its freshly-waxed finish, it's a little uninspiring at first glance but when hit with bright sunlight on a crisp spring day little bits of the Sage color start popping out, so I'm really looking forward to how this will turn out over time. I think the combination of the modern design with the Sage colorway should really be a cool combination, and it'll also be fun to see these occasionally hit the secondary market where every anomaly is a 'prototype' - except this one actually is!

Vintage fisherman’s jumper

Inspired by a similar post on here I think last week, went and got myself a Barbour fisherman’s jumper. This one’s a size large and what you can’t see from the photos is that the hem is curled up so far underneath the jumper it’s almost at my chest. Very comfy tho and can’t wait to get it out for winter.
