The Bedale doesn't fit me well. Anyone have some other Barbour Jacket recommendations?

New jacket has spotty finish?

Hi, I received a jacket from Barbour which seems to have quite a spotty finish. Is this inconsistent finish normal?

The packaging looks quite 'worn' as well, the opening wasn't taped down, the jacket isn't folded neatly in any way, so I am not sure if I've been sent a worn return or what's up here.

Advice on the Second Barbour

I got my first Barbour with a sage bedale and love it but I am interested in also having a Beaufort in a colour that feels different enough that a second jacket won’t feel redundant.

The colours I’m tossing up are bark, rustic and classic olive … the only one I can see in stock in my size is the classic olive so I guess that’s the one I’m considering the most - from people who have experience with sage and classic olive … are they different enough … would they work well together in a collection or make one redundant?

EDIT: I suppose this question was targeted more specifically for those who have experience with the classic olive and sage colours - are the colours themselves different enough? (I know the Beaufort and bedale are similar models I just want both haha)

Hi everyone scrolling through FB Marketplace and found a Barbour jacket for $200 and was wondering if you guys can help identify the authenticity of the jacket before I buy it. Thanks.

Ink discolouration

Hi Guys,
I Was carrying this package in heavy rain under my arm whilst wearing my Barbour Beaufort (which i know is in desperate need of a re-wax). Today I wanted to put it on and realised that some of the ink of the cardboard stained my Barbour. Tried rubbing it of with just some water very gently, but that didn’t help. I’m afraid a simple rewax won’t take care of this…

New jacket incoming

Just picked this up on Vinted for €140. Pretty happy with it from the photos, but I’m curious what the Barbour experts think.
Any idea what model it is?
These are the seller’s photos — jacket should be on its way to me now.

Which Beaufort model do you think works best? 40 or 42?

Dont really know how the beaufort is supposed to look so i thought why not ask the barbourians for opinions!

On the first 4 pictures I have the thickest sweater i will wear under them just for reference, the 40 feels a teeny bit tight but since i have a thick sweater under maybe that is okay. The 42 feels great with the sweater under but it looks maybe a little bit roomy without it. On the 4 last pictures i have only a t-shirt under.

Thanks for the help!

Barbour x Baracuta Porton

Is there anyone here who resides in the UK and would be willing to broker a Baracuta Porton jacket purchase for me and ship to the US? I found one at Outdoor and Country, but they will not ship to the US. I cant find one anywhere here in the US in my size unfortunately. Figured it was worth an ask. TIA.

30€ 1994 Beaufort restored

Hi everyone,

I bought a Beaufort dated 1994 with lots of cuts and splits, 30€.

I restored it using internal cotton patches plus polyurethanic glue, then I've rewaxed it.

I know that this kind of solution with glue is not the best about aesthetic, but I need this jacket strong and waterproof for mushroom harvest, walking in the wood and gardening.

Cheers 🍄‍🟫🍄‍🟫

Bedale — Size up for sleeve length, alter the chest

I've tried on a few Barbour waxed jackets, but the sizing doesn't work. Even at a sleeve length that's too short for me, the chest is just waaaay too big (clearly I need to be eating more pie 😁). Has anyone ever had their Barbour altered to have a lot of material removed from the width? How did it look afterward? (I'm sort of latched onto the Bedale because of the cotton lining in the sleeves.)

Thanks!

Show me the rare pieces in your collections!

I’m from Japan and I’m a big Barbour fan. I’d love to see the rare pieces in everyone’s collections — vintage, collaborations, anything goes!

Here’s mine: a Barbour MWX1212 Spey with a rare factory error — it was made without the D-rings.

Wtf this is awesome (adidas?!)

I was skimming jackets to pressure u/abrod520 into buying and review and this bad motherfucker pops up.

If it weren't so overly urban, I'd say they did the Cape Cotton Durham as much justice as Tokito. We need more of this plzplz

Ceratura

Ciao amici!

Barbour Mizzen briefcase

Hi y'all, I don't see anyone reviewing this bag, so I think it'd be pretty cool to share this with you.

I acquired this bag for $100 on marketplace. It's made with canvas and leather, with iconic Barbour tartan lining. Originally it's saggy and not holding up in shape, I applied some tent-bee wax, now the canvas is darker and stiffer, love it. It goes well with my beaufort.

The leather bottom with metal studs are so nice, have enough compartment for all my things, only minor complain is the lining is a bit loose, I'm not sure about the durability of the lining. Hope to get much live out of this lovely bag. LMK what you guys think👍 I want to see more Barbour bags posted here.

Last photo is color difference between waxed and unwaxed.

Is this 4 pocket Bedale too far gone?

Bought this double warrant Bedale last week for £30 as I’ve been after one for a while. The wax is super thick in places and worn through in others. The material feels quite delicate. Does it look too far gone or should I just re-wax over old and patch it?

First attempt at re-waxing

What to do with a heat wave? I decided to have my first go at re-waxing and I've put a few photos here of the two I've tried, a Bedale and Patchwork Transport. Not perfect, I can see where I've missed a few bits, but the wax certainly goes in easily when it's 33°c outside.

I used a microfibre cloth, I realise now that I need a brush or sponge for the bigger sections such as the back and length of the arms.

Before and after photo then a few "in progress".
