Another round of Senate budget earmarks continues to add up.

Amendment 144, filed by Sen. Robyn Kennedy, directs $50,000 to the Worcester RISE Clinic for refugee and immigrant support services.

Amendment 430, filed by Sen. Mark Montigny, directs $75,000 to the Immigrants Assistance Center, Inc. for citizenship and workforce readiness programming in New Bedford.

Amendment 445, filed by Sen. William Brownsberger, directs $40,000 to the Project Citizenship, Inc. for immigrant services across Boston, Cambridge, Watertown, and Belmont.

Different amendments, same pattern: more targeted spending layered onto an already growing budget, with no real brake on how far it goes.

DOT money grab

It’s time for Phil Eng to resign. If he can’t perform one position, how can taxpayers expect him to handle two positions. State workers earning up to three times their annual salary isn’t just abuse, it’s proof there’s no oversight.

Report: Massachusetts can save $1.5B by reducing bloated workforce The state should eliminate 5,000 jobs

Mass. —

A new report calls on Massachusetts to eliminate 5,000 jobs from the state workforce over the next five years to save $1.5 billion, as employment reached an all-time high last year.

The public policy research group, the Pioneer Institute, released the report, but is not pushing for layoffs.

The group instead says only three of four vacancies should be filled when people leave their jobs through natural attrition. About 4,000 workers depart every year.

State employment reached an all-time high of 46,000 workers last year, according to the report. That accounts for about 19,000 more jobs compared to 2019.

A few sensible people had a victory in Lakeville. Democrat politicians will suck you dry if you let them. Good work Lakeville

LAKEVILLE -- Lakeville voters strongly rejected a Proposition 2 ½ override Tuesday, May 19 that would have added $1,000 to the average tax bill over three years.

Nearly one in three Lakeville voters turned out to have a say, with 3,043 voters casting a ballot out of 9,782 total voters, for a total of 30 percent.

In the end, the override was defeated across all three precincts, with 1,191 voters supporting the measure and 1,650 rejecting it. This totals about 40 percent in favor and 56 percent opposed.

Those were the totals for year one of the override. Questions related to the second and third year were also defeated by similar margins.

Passing the override would have allowed the town to spend beyond state-mandated limits.

I'll take "Things Democrats are absolutely sure never happens" Foreign national voted in four straight presidential elections from Saugus, feds say

BOSTON — A Canadian foreign national living in Saugus has been busted by the feds — charged with voting in five straight U.S. presidential elections despite never being an American citizen, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Sunny Manhertz, 40, allegedly walked into a Massachusetts voter office on March 1, 2016, checked the "Yes" box next to "Are you a Citizen of the United States of America?" and signed his name under penalty of perjury, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Then he went and voted. And voted. And voted.

The Saugus foreign national has been a Canadian citizen the entire time.

Manhertz became a U.S. lawful permanent resident on Feb. 25, 1987 — and held that green-card status for nearly four decades while allegedly stacking up American ballots. Per Saugus voting records cited in the charging documents, he hit the polls in 2012,

Maura always defending the most garbage people in civil society

The eviction sealing law, included in the Affordable Homes Act signed by Gov. Maura Healey in August 2024, gives tenants the right to petition courts to remove certain eviction records from public view. An eviction record — even from a case a tenant won, or that was dismissed — shows up in the public court database and in the paid screening algorithms most landlords use to screen applicants.

Black renters in Massachusetts are on average 2.4 times more likely to have an eviction filed against them than white renters, a disparity that is wider for Black women.

As a POC I despise the idea of hiding someone's history of who they are. 🤷🏾‍♂️. Amirite?

As AG, Healey authorized a study in 2015 that found Massachusetts didn’t need a new natural gas pipeline, as investing more in energy efficiency would ensure the electric grid’s reliability through 2030.

And results are in, Healey is a blathering idiot that should not even be allowed to run a lemonade stand.

Maura brought you the highest electric rates in America. Her horrible decisions cost us and now there are no cheap ways out of the box she put us in.

HOW MANY MIGRANTS DID MASSACHUSETTS ACTUALLY TAKE IN? State refuses to be transparent. Healey needs to go!

Two weeks ago, I submitted a public records request to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC) asking for the total number of migrants the state provided emergency shelter to between 2022 and 2026. The office has refused to respond, stating there was no "datapoint" specific to migrants.

I also asked for more detailed information on migrants after they left the shelter system, but again, they refused to answer, claiming there was no datapoint relating to "migrants."

Yet when Governor Maura Healey issued a State of Emergency for the influx of families entering Massachusetts, she clearly used the word "migrant". Healey even wrote a letter to then Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas about the "newly arriving migrants" in our state, asking for help.

The very clear distinction of "migrant" has now disappeared, just like the billions in tax dollars spent on the migrants themselves.

I will be submitting an appeal of the EOHLC response to my request.

Energy company proposes big natural gas pipeline expansion in New England

I wonder if Horror Healey will fight this gas pipeline as she did before blowing up our utility bills sky high?

Less than three years after a large fossil fuel company proposed expanding a major natural gas pipeline in New England, the company, Enbridge, is back with a new proposal.

Known as "Project Beacon," the expansion would substantially increase the amount of gas that can flow into the Northeast through the Algonquin Gas Transmission line. This pipeline carries fracked natural gas from northern New Jersey through parts of New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and into Massachusetts.

If all of this sounds familiar, that's because it's remarkably similar to a different proposal — "Project Maple" — the company announced in late 2023.

Same pipeline, same concept for expansion, same reasons given.

While Project Maple eventually fizzled, Project Beacon could turn out to be a different story. That's because unlike in 2023, the politics of energy affordability and climate change are very different in the region.

25 Investigates: Massachusetts state workers clocking out and cashing in. Couldn't be, we run a tight ship here in MA.

Massachusetts taxpayers and drivers help to fund billions of dollars into the state’s transportation budget every year with the expectation that their hard-earned money is going to good use.

But a 25 Investigates probe into the highest earners at one MassDOT facility reveals hours submitted on legally binding timecards do not always appear to equal time on the job.

Bootlicking Brookline cops apologize for ICE arrest of violent criminal alien. Massachusetts is so lost. Vote Red to save the Commonwealth ♥️

EXCLUSIVE: Brookline, Massachusetts police are practically APOLOGIZING for ICE arresting illegal alien Edual Ulloa. They boast about not giving him over to ICE and then explain that ICE got to him anyway and they did not assist ICE in arresting him.

DHS tells me: “On May 14, ICE arrested Edual Rafael Ulloa, a criminal illegal alien from Dominican Republic, after he was released from jail by sanctuary polticians. Ulloa’s long criminal history includes charges for assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, failure to stop for the police, and disorderly conduct.

“Ulloa entered the United States illegally on December 7, 2022, in El Paso, Texas, and was RELEASED into our country under the Biden administration. He will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

“Sanctuary polticians must stop playing Russian roulette with American lives by releasing criminal illegal aliens from jail into our communities to perpetrate more crimes and create more victims.”

The problem with temporary giveaway programs just like temporary tax is that they always become permanent. Democrats are the worse. Vote Red to save Massachusetts 🇺🇸

SPRINGFIELD — If not for free bus fares, Kelly Pete said she’d need a $54-a-month bus pass to get where she needs to be.

“That’s $54 I can spend on other things, like food,” she said. “Or maybe save toward getting a car again.”

But the free fares, in place since the fall of 2023 with a post-COVID “Try Transit” effort, are only guaranteed to last until the end of June. There are plans in all three budget proposals — state House, state Senate and Gov. Maura T. Healey — to continue them, said Brandy Pelletier, manager of marketing, advertising and public relations for the PVTA.
