Looking for a morning accountability buddy

I’m looking for someone who wants to start their day with a short voice or video call in English.
My biggest problem is getting out of bed in the morning. I can have a whole plan for the day, but when the alarm goes off, it’s way too easy to say “5 more minutes” and disappear back into sleep 😂
So I had an idea: someone is waiting for my call.
The goal would be simple: we wake up, get out of bed, and call each other for maybe 5–15 minutes. Nothing complicated. We can just say good morning, talk about what we’re planning to accomplish that day, and then start our day.
I think knowing that there’s an actual person waiting for me would give me a much stronger reason to get up than an alarm ever has.
And I’d do exactly the same for you. If you struggle with waking up, procrastination, studying, working out, or simply getting your day started, I’ll be there waiting for your call too.
English would be preferred, since I’m also trying to improve my spoken English and would love to make this useful for both of us.
I’m looking for someone who is genuinely committed and wants to do this consistently, not just for 2–3 days and disappear.
If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, tell me your age, time zone, and what time you’d ideally like to wake up, and feel free to DM me.
Maybe we can become the reason each other actually gets out of bed. ☕️

looking for an accountability partner - job hunting, tech projects, habits etc.

Hi, I'm 22 (PST, female) and currently job hunting. I desperately need to land something soon so I'm very locked in but honestly the stress of it all has been getting to me, and it's been hard to stay consistent on my own.

Looking for someone (or a small group) who's equally motivated and wants to keep each other accountable. Ideally we'd check in 2/3x a week could be a quick call where we go over progress, talk through what's working and what's not, and plan out the days ahead, or a co-working session where we just grind side by side.

If you're also job hunting or just trying to figure out your life more and want a partner to keep you on track, please DM me!

Fitness accountability group

Looking for people who want fitness accountability.

I’ve joined a lot of fitness accountability groups over the years and noticed the same pattern:

Everyone starts super motivated. lots of hype → gym memberships get bought → people promise they’re “locked in” → two weeks later the group is dead.

So I created a Discord group specifically for people who need structure and external accountability to stay consistent.

This is NOT a casual fitness chat where you check in whenever you feel like it. The idea is that everyone actively participates, so nobody is sharing their progress and daily life with 20 silent members who never contribute.

Requirements:

Daily check-in showing what you did towards your goal — workout, food, steps, etc. Pictures/screenshots encouraged.

Weekly weight + waist measurement check-in.

Progress pictures every 2 weeks.

Everyone must participate. (For all check ins)

Nobody needs to pretend they're perfect. The important thing is that we keep showing up instead of disappearing the moment motivation drops.

I personally get much better results when I know somebody will notice if I don't show up. If you're the same and social accountability actually motivates you, you'll probably fit in well.

Comment or DM me if you want to join.

Starting a food logging accountability group for women in their late 30s to early 40s

I’m looking to get together a small group of 4-6 women in their late 30s or early 40s who are looking for some accountability with logging their food.

The idea is that everyone would share their daily food logs, keep each other accountable to actually logging, and share healthy meals or foods you’ve discovered that help you stay on track.

Personally, logging my food has taught me a lot about how I eat. I grew up in the era where carbs were always supposed to be bad, and it wasn’t until I started logging that I realized how important they actually were for me. It was more about the kinds of carbs I was eating and not overdoing it. Same with fiber - I really didn’t pay much attention to it before.

I don’t think I would have learned nearly as much about what works for me if I hadn’t started logging.

I want to keep the group pretty small so people actually get to know each other and can hold each other accountable.

If anyone is interested, let me know!

Accountability tool that can replace human dependency!

We often look for a judge who can keep us accountable in our daily life activities.

But nowadays as everyone seems busy, it gets tough to find someone who can help us stay accountable and keep doing what we need to do to achieve our goals.

Now what if there is an automated tool/software/app that could somehow hold us accountable for every time we ignore those self commitments?

Like somehow it can find out and give us some sort of strict penalties so we become more serious about our life.

What are your thoughts on this?

39F LF Accountability Partners (Pref: Same age bracket)

Hello. I’m 39F who feels like no matter how much I’ve tried; I have always failed. Doesn’t matter what I do, it never ends up feeling like I’ve accomplished anything. I know this is due to me getting overwhelmed easily. Also, I tend to overshare. Here’s some information about me.

Currently, I live with my mother and am NEET. Her health isn’t the greatest, mainly her knees. Which makes me her live-in caregiver. Don’t have any money whatsoever. Also don’t have many people that I feel attached to. Also, I have ADHD and C-PTSD. Doesn’t help that I was raised to believe I was broken and couldn’t/can’t be fixed. Basically, my life is garbage. Has been and am on a journey to improve it.

Which leads me to my goals and what I’m looking for an accountability partner for. I plan to stick with four goals. To hold myself accountable and have an end in sight for them, I’ve listed some mile markers for them. They are:

  1. Copywriting as a form of income.
  • As I know little to nothing about it, study it. Learn as much as I can before doing it. Complete an online course from start to finish. Study 1 hour a day for a month.
  • Do what I have learned and create a portfolio of work.
  • Get/Have a sustainable monthly income.

  1. Improve physical health. As I’m overweight and have been told by a physician that I could have a heart attack at any time due to my poor eating habits.
    • Learn about physical wellbeing. Again, something I don’t know much about and honestly get overwhelmed with quite easily. Why I get overwhelmed is because there’s so much out there and I’m not sure what is fact or not.
    • Create and follow a diet/menu plan. The menu/diet is to be things that I enjoy and make me feel better. Due to the way I was raised and my environment, I tend to feel guilty about having things I enjoy.
    • Create and follow an exercise plan. It’s like the diet/menu plan in having activities that I enjoy. Also, I feel weird and judged when I physically do the things I like solo with others present, especially my mother.
  2. Self-Confidence.
    • Learn about it.
    • Journal for a minimum of 15 minutes or more.
    • Come up with a plan and follow it.
  3. Polyglot. (Computer languages included) Spanish and Python to start.
    • Find a native Spanish speaker as a language partner.
    • Study language 15-30 minutes a day via an app or something.
    • Practice Spanish with language partner 30 minutes a day (preferably) but at least 2-3 times per week.
    • Practice Python for 15-30 minutes a day.

For me to be able to tell if I’ve accomplished the goal or not, here is a break-down for it:

  1. Copywriting
    • Make a livable wage from it. Basically, it is enough to take care of living in a 1-bedroom place in rural America.
  2. Improve physical health.
    • Goal weight 160lbs. Current weight is roughly 200lbs.
    • Be able to sustain intense physical activity for minimum 1 hour. I.E. Running, biking, etc.
    • Lift and carry 100lbs for minimum 30 minutes.
    • Be able to bend over backwards and hold ankles. I enjoy being physically flexible.
  3. Self-Confidence
    • Be able to stand up for myself without feeling bad for it later. As I feel like I’m a doormat for my mother, mainly, and older brother.
    • Enjoy the things I like without feeling guilty about it.
    • Live by myself for a year minimum.
  4. Polyglot. Spanish and Python to start.
    • For Spanish, be able to fluently speak the language and hold a conversation about any topic.
    • For Python, be able to program a working app by myself from start to finish.

What I’m looking for in an accountability is someone to check in for roughly 30 minutes daily. With 15 minutes in the morning, roughly 8am PST, for a daily “To Do List” of the things I’m going to accomplish. Then 15 minutes in the evening, roughly 8pm PST, for what have gotten done off that list. As for how many people I would like as an accountability partner, 2-3. I don’t want to start this until Monday. Regarding where I would like the check-ins to occur, would be Discord. My tag is BK3207. Also would prefer it all be via text. No voice or video. Please post here first before sending me a message there.

That way I don’t get bombarded with messages. As for learning Python and Spanish, I will be posting in a different reddit about that. Though if you want to solely be my language partner, please let me know. For that, I will only be looking for (again) 2-3 people. Also, I would prefer people within 10-ish years of my age, 29-50.

I know this is a bit long and I do apologize for it. At the same time, I want to thank those who have stayed to the end. I REALLY do appreciate those who read to the end. I wish everyone the best for reaching their own goals.

24F | Need accountability partner

Hi! 👋

I’m 24 and a software engineer, and I’m trying to get back into coding for fun rather than just coding for work.

I’m also planning to pursue the online MSCS at Georgia Tech, so I thought this would be a good time to strengthen my fundamentals and get back into the habit of building things.

I have a list of small projects I want to work through — web scrapers, little apps, APIs, games, random experiments, etc. Nothing too serious; the goal is mainly to build things, learn, and enjoy coding again.

I’m looking for an accountability buddy/partner who’s doing something similar. We could share what we’re working on, check in occasionally, and motivate each other to actually finish things.

You don't have to be at the same skill level or use the same tech stack — just looking for someone who genuinely wants to build things and learn along the way. 😊

If this sounds like you, feel free to comment or DM me!

19F | UTC+5 | Looking for a sleep buddy to go to bed before midnight

Hi! I want to build a better routine and start going to bed before 00:00. Looking for a friendly partner to support each other and keep a streak going.

My timezone is UTC+5. Since it's a bit specific, anyone around UTC+3 to UTC+6 is totally fine too!
Nothing complicated or strict, just a quick text before sleep ("heading to bed, night!") and maybe sharing our progress during the day (reading, light habits, etc.)

28M GMT +10 Australia - Goal: Accountability for University Study and Screen Time Usage

Hello fellow Reditters,

I am a 28M GMT +10 based in Australia looking for an accountability buddy to help keep me accountable with my University studies as well as the amount of screen time which I use/other digital media which I am trying to have boundaries for/cut down on.

Bit more about my routines and schedules which I already do:

- Wake up at 5am everyday

- Sleep at 8.30-9pm everyday

- Gym or active recovery 6x week - currently working with a PT

- Working on my food and nutrition with a nutrition coach

Ideally someone who already has certain routines and schedules already and would like to further improve their overall performance/day. However, main thing is how the vibe is between us. Looking for something to start off with for around 3 months to get a gauge on how we are going and extending into the future if we are going well.

What I would like for it to look like:

- Text goals/what needs to be achieved today (I have 3-4 main things for me at the moment)

- Daily wrap up at the end of the day

- Weekly/fortnightly check in calls (doesn't have to be long, only 10 mins ish/depends on what the situation is)

- If not going according to plan, then some motivation and problem solving help to figure out what is going wrong and how to get things back on track.

If you are interested please comment below/DM me and would love to have a chat to see if we can work something out!

Thank you!

36F looking for accountability buddies (preferably same age bracket)

I work in marketing at an AI product company at an associate director level.

I’m working on:

  1. Applying for more jobs (my current one sucks and the economy is shitty) and/or launching other streams of income.
  2. Eat less sugar. I have a decent workout and diet routine. Trainer et al. But, I’m giving in to sugar cravings. 😭
  3. Keeping up with my therapy work. I take somatic therapy. My therapist has set some independent work for me that I struggle to start. Ugh.

Accountability structure:
Look, I’ll be honest. I’m lost here. The last time I had an accountability partner, it was awesome. I was able to learn a lot from her. For now, I only do to-do lists. I need to get back to setting goals and sticking to them. It’s overwhelming.

I’d ideally like a 10-15 min check-in daily (except Sundays) via calls for a few weeks. Then chat is fine.

Let me know if this sounds good. If it does, please respond with some details about yourself, your goals, specifically. We can plan.

M28 | CET | Tackling depression together

Hi everyone,

I'm Matthias, 28, from Germany.

I've been having depressions for at least 4 years now. Over the last few years, I've been working on improving my mental health with the support of a therapist and by taking things one step at a time. I've realized that I often do better when I have someone to share goals with, encourage each other, and stay accountable.

So I was wondering if anyone here is looking for an accountability buddy as well? It could be as simple as checking in on each other's progress, celebrating small wins, and helping each other through difficult days. I'm looking for someone close to my time zone and who's preferably advanced in dealing with their depression like me.

Ideally, I'd love for it to develop into a genuine friendship where we can talk about much more than mental health and get to know each other as people.

Looking forward to hearing from you 😊

Looking for accountability

Looking for a genuinely strict accountability partner — 28F

I'm looking for a serious accountability partner who is comfortable being very strict and authoritative with me.

I've tried app blockers, money-based consequences, and other systems, but they don't really work for me. What I seem to need is another real person who will actually hold me accountable.

I'm NOT looking for someone who just gives encouragement or lets me make excuses. I need someone who can call me out when I'm procrastinating, challenge me when I'm trying to get out of something, follow up when I disappear, and expect me to actually do what I committed to.

For example, if I say "I don't want to do it" or "I'll do it later," I need someone who can basically say: "I know you don't want to. You committed to doing it. Do it anyway. Check back with me when you've started."

I'd like regular check-ins, clear expectations, and an agreed consequence/escalation system when I repeatedly don't follow through.

I'm looking for strictness, consistency and a strong accountability dynamic — not humiliation or abuse. This would be completely consensual, with clear boundaries.

I'm also willing to **give the same level of accountability back**. If you're working toward your own goals, I'd be happy to be the strict accountability person for you too — so this can be a two-way arrangement.

I'm 28F and looking for someone mature, serious and genuinely comfortable being strict. Ideally someone who is direct, persistent and isn't afraid to call me out when I'm making excuses.

If this sounds like the kind of accountability you're looking for too, feel free to message me.

looking for 5-6 people to build a no-miss streak with (any goal, daily check-ins)

i do better when someone is actually watching, so i'm putting together a small group (5-6 people, keeping it tight) for daily accountability.

how it works: everyone logs one session a day for whatever they're working on, gym, studying, coding, whatever, with a quick photo as proof so it's real and not just a checkbox. we keep a simple leaderboard so there's a bit of competition, you get a nudge when someone passes you, and if you break your streak everyone sees it. that visibility is the whole point, it's a lot harder to skip when people will notice.

not looking for a huge server that goes dead in a week. just a few people serious about showing up daily who want the pressure of a group that holds the line.

if you want in, comment your main goal or dm me and i'll add you.

22M, looking for a lifelong accountability buddy

Hello! I'm a college student from South Korea and I'd like to have someone to consistently check in and check each others progress with. I think that would motivate me a lot to do the things that I want to get done. I'm pretty consistent with my habits, which are jogging, working out, studying, reading, waking up early, eating nutritiously, sleeping at the same time each day, and I would like someone who is consistent with their habits as well! We might use discord, or notion or maybe even a shared google docs, but it would be really nice to have someone who's consistent and is ambitious to get after it together. Thanks for reading and please send me a dm if interested!
