ADÉLA shows love to her LGBTQ+ fans and denounces the current conservative head of state in Slovakia during her interview with Vogue CS. (Check body text below.)

“I hope that my music brings [queer fans] joy and that thanks to it they feel that someone sees them. What is happening in Slovakia, where the country is heading politically and who is in power now, is a terrible disappointment and I am really sorry. I don't even know what else to say about it, except that next time we have to vote for a better future for Slovakia and we have to fight for it. I live in West Hollywood, where we have one of the biggest Prides in the world. Then I come home to shoot a video in a gay club where I used to go to singing lessons. I used to pass it all the time, but I went inside for the first time only now while filming. And for the first time I also realized that it was no coincidence that it was hidden in a basement and tucked away in a small alley. It was a very strange feeling. I hope that my music will bring at least some positive emotions to queer people in Slovakia and that it will give them a little light in times when they need it.”

ADÉLA reveals to Vogue CS that PRIMA features songs she wrote entirely by herself and opens up about what fans can expect from the album. (Check body text below.)

“There are also songs on Prima that I wrote entirely by myself. In that sense, it’s very personal. I’m putting a lot of myself into this album & that’s why I feel like it’s a real representation of who I am.

I wanted [PRIMA] to be a bit chaotic and for it to look like it was created by a 22-year-old girl. I wanted to have everything on the album. Deep thoughts, really stupid thoughts, but also horny thoughts. I also wanted the album to be something the girls from “Spring Breakers” would listen to, and for my 22-year-old self to be impressed and say: ‘Wow, that’s THE Pop Star‘.”

ADÉLA explains her current viral song “Ain’t In LA” to Vogue CS. (Check body text below.)

“LA is more of a symbol for "something bigger." I definitely love Los Angeles, but there are a lot of songs that celebrate celebrity culture, and I was a little sick of it. So Ain't in LA is for everyone, and LA is a metaphor for the fact that you don't have to be from a big city to be a bad bitch.”

ADÉLA explains to Vogue CS about what KGB is about & the disclaimer she put at the end of the video. (Check body text below.)

“Everything I say in it is very literal, and I don’t think that’s the reason why some people were upset. They wanted some kind of metaphor. I wanted the song to be a little funny, but also to be about what the KGB actually was.

At the same time, I put a disclaimer at the end of the video saying that I stand with Ukraine and do not support the KGB. And guess what — along with the song, people also got a history lesson.

Because a lot of Americans genuinely don’t know what the KGB was or what it did.”

ADÉLA opens up to Vogue CS about getting cosmetic work done. (Check body text below.)

“A lot of people have written to me that I'm ugly. That's why I felt like I had to change something about myself, and I did. About a year ago, I had my chin filled and I looked absolutely horrible. I actually looked crazy for almost a year, but it was an experience for me.”

ADÉLA told Vogue CS that Rachel Senott was the one who named her debut album PRIMA & she also talked about how being immersed in the city of LA can interfere with your authenticity. (Check body text below.)

“In the series I Love LA by Rachel Sennott, which satirically portrays the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, there’s an entire scene about this.

I love that series, and a special shout-out to Rachel Sennott, who named my debut album and was with me throughout the entire process of making it.

Of course, I Love LA is a very exaggerated series, but there’s also a lot of truth in it. The topic of authenticity in the entertainment industry is a really big thing in LA. A lot of people here are born directly into it, and then it becomes very difficult to grow up among people who are talented and successful at what they do. It takes away some of your freedom to be yourself because you’re immediately shaped by it.

People who grew up here and also grew up in the entertainment industry care a lot about what other people think of them. That gets in the way and holds back their creativity.

I feel like they often don’t even know who they are, because they spend their whole lives trying to be someone they think they should be. When you’re here and grow up among people who understand the industry, you take their opinions very seriously, to the point where you can lose yourself in them.”

ADÉLA talks with Vogue CS about creative blocks & reveals there’s a experimental track in PRIMA. (Check body text below.)

“I’ll be honest, I haven’t experienced one yet. Of course, there are moments when I’m not particularly inspired. I come into the studio and I don’t have anything left to say — but even that can be talked about and used as material for lyrics, even if it ends up being a bad song.

During those days, it’s important to push through, even if you have to force it. Write and write until you eventually write your way out of it. In art, the best things often come from negative circumstances.

For example, one of the songs on PRIMA is an experimental track like that. It isn’t really even a song. It’s basically just my frustration and sadness on a loop. I thought it was cool to put it on the album because it’s real and there is real life in it.”

Machine girl is vastly underrated im sorry

Just as the title says. Why is there no video of her doing this live? Does she ever perform it? To me this is her best song. It’s super lively and a really cool message.

Is Adela Jergova Jewish?

(This is just a theory made for fun and I am Jewish)

  1. Adela never declared anything about her religion.

  2. Adela is from Bratislava (Slovakia) which is the city with the most Jews in Slovakia.

  3. When Charli XCX called her on Elle magazine to prank her using their stylist’s phone she said “shalom“ which translates to hello in Hebrew.

  4. Her stylist (Chris Horan) which is from LA had worked with many Jewish clients such as Hari Nef, Tommy Dorfman, Chelsea Peretti.

#SeptemberIssue: The baddest b*tches are on the cover of #VogueCS. Introducing our cover star @adelajergova, photographed by @michalpudelka. @vogueczechoslovakia on Instagram

From Bratislava’s Petržalka to West Hollywood. Adéla Jergová, who performs simply as Adéla, didn’t end up in the American music industry by chance. She has known what she wanted from an early age, and failure was never a reason to take a step back. It was her ballet discipline and almost obsessive work ethic that eventually took her to millions of streams, a major label and a career in Los Angeles. Yet she says the biggest challenge isn’t making it to the top, but not losing yourself along the way.

“#SeptemberIssue: Wow, that’s THE pop star. That’s exactly the reaction @adelajergova wants to get. Not just through her music, but through her entire energy.” ADÉLA stuns in second cover for Vogue CS September Issue. @vogueczechoslovakia on Instagram

A year after her first appearance, Adéla returns to the pages of Vogue CS, this time opening up about what it’s like to return from L.A. to homophobic Slovakia, why the internet can sometimes put more pressure on women than Hollywood itself, and what it means to live with your appearance, opinions and way of life constantly being commented on. She speaks openly about her identity, her queer fans, life in Los Angeles and why she has no interest in becoming just another pop star who fits neatly into a predetermined box.

Adéla is wearing full @dior look.
