Reminder to not get caught up in “how fast” you can do it.

The important thing to remember is that you can do it at all.

7 months between the upper left and bottom right. I haven’t been brutally strict, but I’ve been consistently trying for a healthier lifestyle. Although progress is slow, it’s present! You guys got this!!

Machine girl is vastly underrated im sorry

Just as the title says. Why is there no video of her doing this live? Does she ever perform it? To me this is her best song. It’s super lively and a really cool message.

Refinished this with a general finishes gel stain. Do I need to do a clear gel on top to seal? Thanks!

Where does “Hot Fuss” by the Killers rank for you in debut albums for that time period?

Re-listening to Hot Fuss for the 100th time today and maybe I’ve just over listened at this point, but every song is so strongly them. It’s easily their best cohesive work. Wondering where they rank for my fellow listeners.

Tell me your pros and cons of being a home health pta

Absolutely love my outpatient job, but in this economy? I am getting paid horribly and I know it. I’ve been at my clinic treating 140-150 visits a week with my PT for over 6 years. I’ve learned so much and truly feel like I’ve become an amazing clinician.

I’m paid 28 an hour in PA. Yes after 6 years at a company. I’m looking into home health in MD and the pay is pretty darn appealing. Now I’m trying to decide if I would be happy doing this.

Give me your feedback!

I think “Purple” is ironically the saddest song of the album

Okay yes. Less and cigarette smoke and even begged pull at my heart strings. Less is a typical sad ballad that just makes you want to weep.

But the way purple transitions from a first verse of lighthearted observations to the second of things slowly getting a little more disturbing lyrically while keeping a high pace in the song to the ending….

It’s ambiguity is its strength. To me, this song is talking about entering into the relationship or world of love, seeing it as something simple and childlike, then fast forwarding to realize that love has fallen. Now you sit in personal weakness and depression.

It’s just such an interesting way to describe this type of feeling and I think it’s incredibly haunting in a way.

I really thought some lyrics in expectations were different than what they actually were.

Instead of “in a couple months, a man will be procured, he will be evolved and I will be adored”

I swore she said “in a couple months, a man will be the cure, he will be unlocked/a lock, and i will be a door, a door a door.”

I was like dang how clever to use another song title at the end of the album 😂

Tips for transitioning away from rocking to sleep.

Well, LO turns 1 tomorrow and I think it’s finally time to have her try and fall asleep without us rocking her. It’s been a wonderful form of connection, but we could use the extra time. What are your best tips for integrating this / what has worked for you or not? She sleeps through the night 12 hours mostly. She is starting to get a little separation anxiety though.

I survived my first flight with an 11 month old. Even after everything went wrong

I have been dreading this plane ride for months. We decided to take a family trip with my parents to an island. I have a pretty low needs baby… when she’s not being restrained on our lap… hence why I was absolutely dreading the flight, even though it’s only 4 hours.

I knew she’d be great when we got here, but I was still anxious. So I read up on everything I needed. Had all the books, bottles, snacks and play toys you could imagine.

And it still all went to shit. My worst fears were realized when after she slept for an hour when we initially got on, then was woken up by the food and drink cart.

All the sudden she was overtired, stressed and roochy. And started crying and screaming like she hasn’t in months. With our seatbelt signs on, I didn’t know what to do and there was no escape and I just started silently crying along with her.

I had prepared for this with my therapist but the worst was happening, the whole plane was being disrupted.

But you know what. I survived. We got through it. And now we’re having an amazing time. The people on the plane didn’t curse me out, they even congratulated me on doing a good job.

This is just a sentiment to not limit yourself (if you have a community to help you) and to not be afraid to travel. It may be daunting, but I’m glad we got through it and went. These will be amazing memories down the road.

There’s a lot of stories on here of things going right, so here’s an example of things going wrong, and it being okay anyway. 💕

Can these chairs be saved without new upholstery ?

This is supposed to be a vintage leather chair. Looks like some water damage? Salvageable to add dye in or would this need completely reupholstered?

Was really feeling like I was stuck in a rut postpartum. I was working out, but not consistently week to week. I finally broke down and got back on WW, and feel a world of difference already. Baby abs :,)

Just made a post about my LO having difficulty falling asleep at nighttime and fighting it. Well today at daycare she had, that’s right, 0 sleep time. They say they tried multiple times and had no success and that she didn’t seem tired.

How do I handle sleep tonight? She woke up at 6am and it’s around 4pm now. Do we just bite the bullet and put her to bed around 6-6:30 tonight?

I’m kinda worried this is screwing her up. Thanks!

Hello fellow parents!

My 10 month old is a great sleeper (knock on wood). But getting her to bed this week has suddenly been a nightmare. She takes 1.5 naps a day. 3.5/4/ then bed after 3.5 hours. Her first nap is an hour and a half with most of the time, a brief car nap for about a half hour. We’ve keep a pretty consistent bed routine. Diaper, bottle, reading, then rock to sleep and lay her down after a half hour of holding. She will usually have one night wake in transitional sleep and usually after 10-15 minutes of screaming can get herself back to sleep.

Lately the rocking to sleep after books has been awful. She fight sleep SO HARD. She starts to crawl us and scream and wriggle and I’m not sure what we do at this point. She still rocks to sleep fine for her nap, but I’m not sure what to do for evening sleeps. Is it separation anxiety and it’ll pass? Or should we try to put her to bed later? Is it just a phase? HELP
