Aeromexico gate-checked my bag and a phone was stolen-what can I do?
I was forced to pay $100 USD to check my bag at the gate immediately before boarding. Unfortunately, someone stole a phone from the bag while it was checked.
Aeromexico has told me that the theft isn’t covered and is refusing to help or refund the $100. I’ve been trying to resolve this with them via email, but I’m getting nowhere.
Is there anything else I can do or anyone I should contact to dispute this or potentially recover the cost of the stolen phone and/or the baggage fee?
Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Vuelo
Hola.
Compensation to change flights
I got an email this morning offering 850 peso coupon for me to change the day of my flight from the 19th to the 22nd or 23rd. Sorry, Aeromexico, but that's not much incentive!

Why is Aeromexico asking for a visa?
So I booked a flight from the U.S. to Mexico. My country of residence and passport are U.S. I am down there regularly, 4-5 times a year. It used to be you had to fill out a form on the plane and hand it in, get half back to be turned in upon departure, but they have long since stopped that. If I go through the “cattle chute” at immigration I get a slip with a QR which leads to a digital FMM. If I go through immigration with a human, I get a stamp and a date of expiry. All good, all normal.
I am booked for a flight in a few weeks, and Aeromexico is asking me for a visa number, saying my required documents are only 50% complete (the other being my passport which is approved and on file) and I need to complete this in order to fly.
Has anyone else experienced this recently? Is there a new process that I need to follow?
