PAPER 52 DECISION

guys they should say “who wants to retake 52 go ahead we will plan, however who does not can choose assessed grades”

By removing stats 1 they are throwing away all the hard work of studying all year!! they must give us this option to ASSURE FAIRNES

THEIR DECISION RN IS ANYTHING BUT FAIR!

Petition for retake of 9709/52 and 9618/12 rather than Assessed Marks.

SIGN IT HERE: https://c.org/6df8wPqgdv

A retake is the only fair and standardized solution to ensure that all candidates are evaluated equally, because assessed or calculated marks do not accurately reflect a student's true performance. Many students dedicate a significant amount of their time and effort towards specific components in which they are the strongest and expect to achieve high marks. When such a component is canceled, the work, preparation, and improvement invested into it are disregarded. If a candidate performs differently in other components, the assessed grade may fail to represent their actual ability, causing them to lose the grades they rightfully work towards and negatively affecting future academic and career opportunities.

Assesed marks

after the email from cambridge, i am confused about assesses marks. i only had statistics and pure 1, so what will they asses me on?? just pure 1? this is so unfair for people who only did these two, i am very good at statistics but decent at pure and worked my ahh off to get good in stats to assure a good final grade all for it to be in the bin. this is ridiculous, my whole year of working hard for stats 1 has gone to waste.

Can someone elaborate? am i interpeting it wrong??

How can i help my son pass maths!

Hi there. My son started maths as a smart kid, then one by one start failing back. In the primary school he finished with mostly Cs just because his teacher says feels bored during tests and doesnt continue them. then he went to Gymnasuim, 5th year he was mostly Ds. till he got an F (5) we got him a tutor then he managed to level up and get C,and one time B. this year he is in 6th class, they had 5 tests so far, only succeeded in one, with a C. he has a good tutor, he says he is working good at home. we make daily 45 mins practice, 20 mins mental maths and 30 mins training on new old topics. then he makes around 4 simulation tests at home before the real exam (no books, no help , no notes) and he got 3s in all of them. then in the test he got a 5!! am not blaming him for not being able to solve things that are hard or has a bigger level of difficulty, i am surprised because in the tests, even the things he practiced on daily and knows the rule and how to do it, he still messes them up with careless mistakes. he is of course very frustrated and disappointed that he studied and prepared so well , and still failed. if he solved the things he knew well, he would have passed. how can i help , i dont want maths to become a failure pattern for him, and I want him to be able to focus during the exam on the things that are familiar to him so he can only pass the exam. what should i do?

how the FRICK do i get AT LEAST AN A :(

okay i can scrape my way to an A in applied but this pure business is RISKY - im sat 'round a mid-B in every pure paper

ive learned the content from the book, but i always either don't get long weird asymptote n complex style questions, or find a way to frick up the integration/differentiation by just doing a wrong method to what teh question wants/similar sorta vibes... i just really want an A to get into uni next year man, n i have no clue hwo to get better - it feels like every question is made to bum me to exhaustion.

has anyone else been in a similar position n how did they improve? not looking for pity here just looking for constructive advice & friendliness. please don't be mean n belittling in replies i cant take it

I don't understand domain or range AT ALL!

I don't get the topic at all, everytime I try understand it from the markscheme, its like a different way of working it out each time, I watch youtube videos to understand it, it doesn't make sense to me at all. How do you use the notations. When do you have to use for example: 4<x<7 and when do you use x<7 and x>4 when do you use these notations? I've done a ton of function questions but I always get stuck in trying to find the range and domain
