Looking for a stream clip: PiG gets nuked 3 times in a row as Protoss in pvz

For some time now, I’ve been reading on reddit that pig has been saying things like, “Every single protoss player is using the gateway wrong.” And there was one time when he played protoss and got destroyed by zerg three times in a row.

Does anybody know when this hilarious event was streamed? I really want to watch it.

TY very much!

Aspects of high level tournament play that I had not considered until watching some 2021 & 2022 GSL matches

After watching several 2021 and 2022 GSL matches, I noticed that several players had ice packs/cold packs in there hands between matches. This would be in reaction to pain/swelling/discomfort and/or to prevent pain/swelling/discomfort. High AMP sustained over long gaming/practice sessions and over periods of time can lead to RSIs. A little googling reveals that some high level players have suffered with swelling, CTS, pain, and in at least 1 case surgery was needed to repair the damage sustained.

In addition to pain/swelling/discomfort, players could suffer from fatigue in their hands/wrists/forearms/shoulders. Anyone who has engaged in calisthenics (ex: doing push-ups) has experience the point at which they've reached their limit and must stop and rest, even if only for a few minutes. It is quite possible that players in the various tournaments have run into that sort of wall mid-game. Instead of pausing or stopping the game, players might slow down their AMP which could cost them the match, or resign the match. There are several instances across many matches where a player seems to be in a disadvantageous but survivable position, and resigns the match.

Knowing the taxing nature of competitive RTS play at high levels, it would have been wise for Blizzard to design the game to be a bit less micro intensive. Instead of going for a less micro intensive design, Blizzard devs and management, designed the game around and promoted Archon mode for SC-2. IMO, this was intended to increase sales of the game so that players engage in Archon Mode competitions.

Speculation for Blizzcon patch

So basically I have seen multiple posts referencing that one post zi think it was from solar that said they were going to change the worker start again after blizzcon.

So do you guys think it's true or not? I am just curious to know what people think (no need to be mean and say that I'm dumb for believing these rumors, I just curious).

And if you do indeed think it's true what do you think that the changes will be exactly snd also what changes would you want.

Personally I either think that we will go to 10 worker start because apparently it says that they will change the amount of workers and not revert. Also 10 workers will like try to appeal to players fans of 8 and also of 12 workers (though there is the possibility that it just ends up being worse than both of those variants).

Still maybe they will indeed revert to 12 workers and people are looking too much into the specific ise of the word change instead of revert.

Anyways happy to know what people in the community think.

How to react to a PvT 2 base push?

G1 new P. What's the correct response when I know a 2 base Marine & 2-3 tank push is coming?
Am I supposed to meet them halfway and get them to siege or do I just drop a whole bunch of cannon/shield bats? Do I drop several more gateways in anticipation -> morph to warp? Should I have a natural-Wall or is that just blocking myself in?

MaxPax masterclass in Ladder Legends!!!

We've got a big one for you. MaxPax is running a full Protoss masterclass with Ladder Legends — Saturday the 22nd, 7pm CEST.

If you've watched any pro SC2 in the last few years, you know the name. MaxPax is a Danish Protoss player currently playing for PSISTORM Gaming, one of the very best Protoss players in Europe and a constant fixture in the top tier of the scene. He first made his name with hyper-aggressive builds — including the famous "MaxPax build" — and became known as one of the best proxy Void Ray players in the world, taking down top Terrans like Clem and HeRoMaRinE, before evolving into a macro-oriented style built on sharp micro and original builds like his Tempest opening in PvZ. LiquipediaLiquipedia

In other words: this is a player who has invented the meta, not just followed it.

What's covered:

  • All three matchups — PvT, PvZ, PvP
  • His approach to builds, timings, and decision-making
  • Potential live POV ladder games so you can see exactly how he thinks in real time

Whether you're stuck in Diamond or grinding GM, getting inside the head of a top European Protoss is about as good as it gets for improvement.

Share your favorite Replays/VODs/Youtubes of herO and other high level Protoss players

I've made criticisms of herO's gameplay and decision making that can be IMO questionable despite him being quite skilled. Since folks have showered praise upon herO, please share links to some replays, VODs, and Youtubes of herO and other high level Protoss players. If you can add a quick one-liner with your submission that includes:

  1. which SC-2 game era (WoL, HotS, LotV)
  2. why it is one of your favorite matches

If one doesn't know the game era, then leave it out. Item #2 is more important to include with your link so, that we all can know what to look for.

Please forgive me I confused herO ( https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/HerO_(Kim_Joon_Ho) ) with HerO ( https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/HerO ). I thought that the it was just Song Hyeon-deok, based on the name, instead of 2 different Korean players. Lastly, if anyone links to games with Song Hyeon-deok, please indicate that it is Song Hyeon-deok instead of Kim Joon-ho.

Finally Her0 did something I consider to be big brain

I just started watching this video cast by Winter ==> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6zHayGg7Zg

At time point 3:50, Her0 sends shades to toward Clem's main base. At the last second he splits the shades and sends 1 shade to stand right in the middle of a cluster of Terran troops. The 1 shade in the middle of the troops completes the transfer, which causes the siege tank to blow up the shade, the Marines, and the low HP Cyclone. A few seconds later Her0 throws shades at Clem's main and this time they get in and start attack the SCVs. This short exchange caused Clem to completely wall off his natural with Supply Depots. Causing Terrans to kill their own troops by siege tank fire isn't new. Its the manner of the harass that lead up to the point of killing the cluster of units that caused Clem to react with a complete wall off. This is manipulating one's opponent. Her0 got a few toes into the Sun Tzu territory. I still think his Protoss drunken boxing technique needs more work.

13% win rate in PvZ

Hi,

This is a call for help to my fellow protoss players 🙏🏻

I am trying to learn to play with protoss and I really struggle with PvZ. I am in gold 1 now (2600 MMR) with 70% win rate in PvP, 84% win rate in PvT, but 13% win rate against PvZ !

I feel like I just don’t get it… Against P & T I open double gate into 4 stalkers harass before expand (Zuka build), and it works reasonably well. From there, I go into a CIA build on 2 or 3 bases.

But I am completely at loss against zerg. I lose to essentially a new composition every time I play PvZ: today I lost against a guy going Muta, then against a guy who played ling bane (PiG B2GM style on three bases + 2 macro hatches), and then yet against another who played corruptor + ultra.

I realize this is not a balance issue ! I just suck at PvZ. But I just don’t understand how to play the matchup. It feels very hard to secure a third. When playing skytoss, I surive into the late game but get completely rolled over by mass hydra or corrupters + ultralisk, and when I go CIA, I lose to muta + ling.

If there are any build orders or general tipps on how to approach the match up, I’d love to hear it ! Really taking any (ideally constructive haha) advice 🙏🏻

Also, for reference, my main used to be terran at 3000 MMR, but I wanted to try out protoss. So I am not a good player by any means. Maybe good to know for others haha

Is there a roadmap from beginner to grandmaster for the current v5.0.16b patch?

I tossed the question in the title to google and the stupid AI recommended a Heroes of the Storm YT video. I'm not sure where to start. Should I start with the campaign or go to multiplayer?
