After trying to revisit Anno 1800, I've given some thought to something that I feel is undermining my ability to enjoy the game: I don't hate BUILDING, I hate REBUILDING. Too much content that involves going back to existing cities/islands and tearing stuff up.

Some of this applies to the base game (railroads/electricity, mostly) but stuff like hotels, haciendas, so much crap that requires existing islands to be rebuilt, it's where it starts to get real exhausting for me. I know plenty "can" be planned ahead of time but there's limits to it, you know? Just a thought.

Base Anno 1800 or Anno 177

Hello i would like to start with anno series, i tried anno 177 demo and it was awsome but it is little pricy for me right now. Is base Anno 1800 good as 177 or Anno 1800 is really worth only with DLCs?

Big 1800 player, about to start 117 for the first time, any tips?

I've been waiting for a nice sale on 117 since a while, and yesterday I finally caved in and bought the Gold edition incl. the year 1 season pass for 50€. Yay!

Prior to that, I've played Anno 1800 for over 1500+ hours, all DLCs, almost all cosmetic packs and stuff. So needless to say I just loved that game and it's probably my favorite in the whole franchise.

Obviously, I have pretty high expectations from 117, and I tried to avoid being spoiled too much. So I'm just gonna ask the question naively: are there any pitfalls to avoid, any recommendations to start this new game in the most enjoyable way possible?

Thanks guys

Luv the new cosmetic dlc so far, Cinis 30% built, leaving half the island for the new dlc

What do you think about this build, about 25h in <3

Do you think there will be enough room for all upcoming dlc´s in Cinis? would love if the island would be even bigger

Europis Maxima - my uprising capital city :3

I can only repeat myself: no other Anno game has captivated me as much as 117. Hours of building and designin, especially with the new decoration DLC. It lets you transform Cinis into a thriving oasis, something that was missing before.
And yes, the city is still under construction; the Hippodrome and its neighborhood will go up on the right side of the river. The next project is a proper harbor 😅

Feedback about Pax Romana on PS5

Hi

I've never played this franchise before. I would like to get my hands on Pax Romana 117, but I have some questions:

How does it play on ps5 (fps, etc) ?

How is the sandbox mode ?

Which version is worth buying ?

Anno 117 or Anno 1800?

Both are currently on sale, and I'll probably end up buying one of them. Has anyone here played both and can recommend which one to get?
I was originally leaning toward 117 because I really like the Roman Empire setting, but then I read that 1800 is considered the gold standard.
This will be my first Anno game, and I don't have too much experience with city-building or strategy games in general. Any recommendations?

A few images of my ~80K Cinis capital: Bellatora

Embracing the Syrah aesthetic for my capital Bellatora. Managed to reach a steady 80K population before adding in forests, gardens, and other decorative spaces. Quite a few cosmetic mods being used with this run to really embrace the Syrah look and make the harbors feel more realistic.

[New Horizons] I still don't get the point of Horai

Okay, so you build up your island, have the second population tier and then you unlock.... trading companies?

And those trading companies allow you to produce stuff from the old world, only since you don't have electricity in Horai, they produce slower. What?

Yeah, they might use less population, but at this point it's not really an issue.

Why would I ever use the trading companies and go through the hassle of having to ship all that stuff back home if I could just build up my industry in the old world, with electricity and items?

Or I could just use docklands.

So, am I missing something?

Anno 2070 Conspiracy theory. Ecos have Weather Control tech as early as Tier 1. Islands are significantly more likely to be hit by a natural disaster, the lower their Eco-Rating is.

Explain this liberals. Excuse me I have a delicious SmogBurger with a side of Coala to consume.

My empire, two extremes.

In the city of Italica, the new amphitheater is inaugurated in honor of our Emperor Traj-anno.

The construction was prolonged by the successive plagues and famines that afflicted the city. But it seems that Ceres, in her Providence, has ordained that the new city shall finally host spectacles in honor of Caesar. Nevertheless, our coffers are depleted, for meanwhile, our empire's foreign policy has suffered the usurpation of our domains in Albion by the barbarian king Athr Lorgwyn.

While the patricians watch the gladiators clash in the arena, the imperial troops—with their legions, archers, and auxilia arrived from every corner of our Romanized provinces—prepare to march and counterattack.

Valete, Governors.
