I got tired of putting off my camera roll cleanup, so I built this
I’m the developer of PicPop, an iPhone app for chipping away at a messy camera roll. It groups similar and blurry shots for manual review, with Screenshots in their own section. You choose what to keep or delete; it doesn’t delete anything automatically.
14-second demo (Reddit video): https://www.reddit.com/r/SomebodyMakeThis/comments/1w42yjj/comment/pcji0f3/
It’s free to download, with a 3-day trial and then a subscription. App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/picpop-photo-video-cleaner/id6808016560
Would you start with the similar shots or work through photos month by month?
Anyone interested in testing my new energy tracking app?
I made a new app called PowerBite. The app basically allows you to track meals (with a picture or description), sleep, hydration, activity, and caffeine during the day and give you an approximation of your energy during the day and the impact of each event on your energy. So for example if you ate a heavy meal it will be able to predict when you will be crashing and give you recommendations to improve that meal to avoid crashing. It also gives general advice when crashing to help you recover your energy quickly upon request. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to test out the app. I can give a few free 2 weeks trial codes for whoever would be interested to test the app and give me feedback on it! You would just have to make sure to unsubscribe before the code usage expires to not be charged for the full subscription after! I also have this TikTok account for anyone who is interested to see content on the app before trying it out: https://www.tiktok.com/@powerbiteapp. I would appreciate any recommendations on the app or the marketing! Thank you all!
Which app icon would you pick? Trying to figure out if I’m overdesigning this
I could use some fresh eyes from people who have probably looked at way more app icons than I have.
I’m building Jogventure, a beginner-friendly walking/running app that turns your progress into more of a lighthearted adventure, levels, milestones, challenges, a journey map, etc. The little blue guy in both icons is the app’s mascot, Joggle.
I originally made Option 1 a while back. It’s more detailed and tries pretty hard to communicate the whole “running + adventure/journey” idea directly in the icon.
More recently I made Option 2, which strips a lot of that away and puts more emphasis on the mascot itself.
I keep seeing the same advice with iOS icons: less is more, especially once the thing gets shrunk down to actual Home Screen size. That’s what made me start questioning whether the first icon is trying to do too much.
But I’ve been staring at this app for so long that I don’t trust my own judgment anymore.
If you saw these two next to each other in the App Store, which one?
Would you choose 1 or 2?
And more importantly, why? Does one feel more polished, recognizable, or like something you’d actually tap?
Feel free to be picky. Color, composition, mascot size, background, readability, whatever jumps out at you. I’m specifically looking for the kind of feedback I probably wouldn’t notice myself.
I’d rather hear that one of them sucks now than figure it out after launch 😅
