Bore buddy please

Could you guys make a public spreadsheet of confirmed functioning AR22 A.S.S. (Assisted Super Semi-auto) builds?

Something similar to the Atrius compatibility sheet, but specifically for AR22 setups. Atrius Development Group already has a compatibility sheet style setup, but it would be awesome to see more build-specific info.

Things like:

- Barrel length

- Trigger used

- Bolt weight setup

- springs

- Ammo

- Suppressed/unsuppressed

- Any extra tuning needed

I feel like there has to be some of this data written down already from testing.

It would probably save you guys a ton of support questions if people could see known working combinations and use those as a starting point, then fine tune from there instead of everyone starting from zero and having to use tons reddit and rumble posts.

Fake long mag

Working on a fake long magazine that mimics the full size (actually longer) appearance of 30 round magazine, while still keeping the actual capacity of 10 rounds by design.

Kabutos FRT only works with partially filled mag

I have three different CMMG type AR22 setups and they all suffer the same thing. They work the best with partially filled mags. I use S&W 15-22 mags factory and printed and they both do the same thing. I can fill them with 20 - 24 rounds and get failure to fire like light hammer strike or hammer follow until I get down below 18-20 rounds. Anybody else have this problem? Once I get below the 18 to 15 rounds they all function fine in FRT. I can clean them and lube them and every once in a while I will have them function properly with a 20-24 round mag, but not consistent. I tried lowering the bolt weight but no change only more hammer follow.

With trigger companies getting sued for using "FRT", we've come up with a new acronym.

This 4th, get your A.S.S. to the range and shoot fast!

AR22 full auto without trip. What's going on?

PSA lower.

borebuddy upper 16" barrel.

ARC v2

No BB Trip or weights.

Today at the range my AR22 went full auto. Without the borebuddy trip installed or the weights. ARC v2 was on SEMI-Auto (NOT full auto). The rifle was working fine in semi mode for a few magazines before hand.

Does anybody have any idea what went wrong (or right)?

In the past I've had it shoot 2 rounds every now and again in semi mode.

It shot way quicker than if I had it setup in full auto mode with the trip and weight installed. Even the RO for the range came by and was impressed with the speed. Normally they don't bother.

Ammo was CCI mini mags, rifle was cleaned before today's session.

Should I be leaving the trip in at all times?

Where can I get a quad rail AR22 like a MK18?

Does that exist? Or is everyone still only loving MLOK?

Bolt carrier bounce blocker v5 Final version

There will be no more updates to this

Print with no supports recommended PA-6CF or anything that won't deform in heat.

You can now use a pressure plug or an AR 15 buffer behind it as long as it doesn't have anything protruding. You can also raw dog it and save weight, but it probably won't last as long.

Thinned down the tripp buffer portion to hopefully minimize interference

It's now supported by the buffer detent pin as well as the lower receiver should be slightly stronger.

I printed in ABS, PETG, TPU68D and PA-6CF on multiple printers with no fitment issues.

Beware TPU will become to soft in the heat

Borebuddy FRT tuning in Dallas area

Good morning Reddit community. My name is Mike and I have been trying to get my apogee 12 and 1/2-in upper frt tuned and I'm not having any luck. Is there anybody in the Dallas area that has done this and would be willing to help me do this? I'm willing to pay for the time of course

Thanks

Mike

.22lr conversion gas block

In the process of building a dedicated .22 have the Cmmg BCG and everything pretty much done but right now just have a 7” 556 barrel. Not planning on shooting 556 it will be a straight up .22 but for now with the 556 barrel should I leave a gas block installed backwards to cover the hole until I get my .22 barrel?

Bear Creek Arsenal 22LR

After some experimenting with different parts, we are now able to get this BCA 22LR to cycle SV & HV big box ammo a whole lot better than when they first got it. It will now mostly cycle an entire 25 rd mag (CMMG G1 & G2, & Black Dog) without failure. Now occasionally it will FTE after about 12 rds using any of the aforementioned mags. What can we do to eliminate this jam?

New bolt carrier bounce blocker v4 easy print with trip buffer

This now eliminates bolt carrier movement, buffers the bolt, buffers the trip kit, and is much easier to print

NO PRESSURE PLUG NEEDED

Here's a look closer look at the v4 bolt carrier block/buffer

Tpu ams is very strong and flexible at the same time.

Tpu is know for its great layer adhesion as well so it won't crack.

The thing is it's only flexible when printed very thin. The thicker portion is hard, it has barely any give. It's just enough for a good buffer

(After testing in the hot new Mexico summer I can't recommend TPU as it get too soft in the heat)

Pa6cf is probably best bet right not

Let me know if people are interested. I may start selling them.

This buffers the bolt/tripp with minimal effects on lrbho and completely stops bolt carrier movement.

The cherry on top is that you can use no buffer or you can keep your oem ar15 buffer in. If you have a multipurpose lower this would be awesome.

3D printed bolt blocker remove my bolt bounce and carrier movement

3d printed bolt blocker removed my bolt bounce and carrier movement.

I'm definitely overweight now tho

Also I'm having light strikes I even had one on semi auto.

The light strikes look identical to my spent casing

Sooo I'm not recommending the crescent firing pin on the rave 140

I ordered super strike pin, but the cmmg would be better then the crescent in my experience the rave 140 seems to have a lighter hammer spring

I thought the light strikes were from FRT but now I see it's not

First tucked setup. How'd I do?

Very, very old 80% lower, now form 1 sbr, borebuddy blaster 4in, sb tactical brace from ebay, borebuddy quiet collar guts w/alum weights, kraken dot, knockoff 5xagnifier and larue mbt2s trigger. Can is currently a forward comp until I get my form 1 back and I can make can internals. Shoots very quiet.

Will McNeil bb aka bore buddy

All will be well. No more complaints—I think we all understand each other now. I’m not going anywhere, and I stand by what I’ve said.
Hopefully this barrel really is the Toyota of barrels. At this point, all I’m looking for is reliability with .22 LR. Looking back, I’m not sure why I bought the $325 barrel in the first place. I already have a 21” .17 HMR that’s a much better shooter. Sometimes you buy things thinking you’ll save them for a future project, and it doesn’t always work out the way you planned.

I guess I’ll be happy ringing steel and punching paper out to 50 yards with this setup. At the end of the day, reliability is what matters most to me. I’ll also continue buying bolt weights from BoreBuddy for my Super Safety builds since they’ve worked well for what I’m trying to accomplish.
