Almost got Scammed by a big brand in-store, be alert ya’ll
Tell me why i was charged 42 aed extra before I paid my 148 aed bill (which i did, the second time).
For reference, I was at Sahara Centre and at New Yorker. I’ve shopped there for years.
The lady working there said that the card machine wasn’t working and I tapped my card expecting to pay the 148. It took 42, I ASKED her what this is, and she said it would be reverted back to my account.
It didn’t.
Went BACK in store and requested for my money back and they said it wasn’t on the system, went through both my items, took my phone out of my hands and went through my whatsapp receipt and made me wait a good 20mins to check if i was lying or what was going on.
They finally refunded me in cash but what the hell would have happened if I didn’t notice?
The most troubling thing to me was it showed on the card reader but not the system and I can’t help but wonder if she was running some type of scheme. And why am i being interrogated when i showed them the literal bank transaction messages + receipt + items that i bought from her?
