i need examples of perfect comprehending and responding sections

Last year my average results in english extension would be 70-90 percent.

Now in yr 11 all i’ve gotten 40‘s and 50’s and i’ve been trying so hard. I don’t understand what i’m missing and i’m sick of trying to interpret how i should fix it without a clear example of what i’m supposed to do instead

i can’t find a copy of good answers anywhere even though we bought it when the booklist came out so pls help

looking for a math methods tutors

hi! im in year 11 and i need a math methods tutor. im in the south-eastern suburbs of perth and would prefer someone in person.

my math teacher at school isnt that great, he just give us the answers to the questions not the steps to figure it out, if you know what i mean, and because we are year 11 we should apparently know what hes explaining, but when he does he doesn’t teach you the steps so you understand even if you ask. we get given booklets, practice exams and tests but he never shows us how to figure it out so we are left on our own. ive tried watching videos, asking chatgpt to explain steps to me and its just not clicking well i need a physical person to explain it to me and take the time to actually teach me 1 on 1.

its not like im failing, my average rn is like 61 which personally isnt ideal for the atar im trying to achieve.

thank you!!

Should I stop trying for English?

This year I decided to put more effort into English ATAR and managed to increase from a 66% last year to a 78% this year (top ~5-8% of the cohort).

However, my other subjects are still well performing:

Maths Spec: 86%

Maths Methods: 94%

Physics: 90%

Economics: 89%

I feel that any effort put into English is almost wasted as it won't go to my scaled TEA, and would be better used in the other subjects.

Any advice?

What scores should I be aiming for to get 85+ Atar (Also Tips for methods + chem)

Hey y'all, year 12 here doing Methods, Chemistry, Human Biology, Psychology, and English for ATAR. Currently, I'm really stressed (as I'm sure most are atm) about whether or not I'll get into the course I want to at Uni with my current results (engineering). Last year my school told me my projected ATAR was 94 with the following scores:

  • Mathematics Methods: 68% (only one test has been marked) -- 75% for the final exam.
  • English: 68%
  • Chemistry: 63%
  • Psychology: 81%
  • Human biology: 65%

Note: I'm not sure how accurate the 94 was, considering how low these scores are.

Year 12 has been pretty rough for me, even though Im still trying hard, so currently my results are looking as follows:

  • Mathematics Methods: 48% (only one test has been marked)
  • English: 63%
  • Chemistry: 60%
  • Psychology: 74%
  • Human biology: 61%

I know these scores aren't great, to be fair, especially methods, so I know I'll need to get a grip on that as soon as possible, but what kind of ballpark should I be aiming for if I want to be getting into engineering?

I would also like to ask for advice on how to improve my methods and Chemistry, because it's really frustrating that I'm not doing well despite putting in so much effort. The people in my year are really good at methods and chem, so I'm not sure if I'm just stupid or am missing something, but I seriously don't know how to improve, considering I have tried doing practice exams, tests, and worksheets for hours and still ended up failing.

How much should I aim for

I'm in year 12 doing apps, english, mod.his, human bio (also doing chem which im lowk not great at but hopefully can be in my top 4???). I want an atar of 80 or above (hopefully this can get me into a uni). How much grades should I be getting in each subject? I go to a rural school where most of my small class is lowk failing and we are in a moderation group so idk my rank 😭

Business Atar

I’m in year 11 right now and I’m doing 6 ATAR, English, Human Bio, Chemistry, Psychology, Methods, Applications. At first I was planning to drop either methods or apps at the end of year 12 since I wasn’t sure which one to do but rn I’m hating both of them. Im averaging around 75 in apps (ik it sucks) and around 55 in methods.

I was thinking to drop both methods and apps and pick up business atar since people say that it’s easy and pretty chill to average high in but is that true? Would I be able to manage in year 12 with no prior knowledge from year 11 or is it too much to catch up on?

Also my averages for my subjects are, Human Bio (80), Chemistry (75), apps (75), methods (55), English (85), Psychology (70)
Can I get a 90+ atar with that or not?
Sorry for the yap I’m so stressed rn.
