I am NOT AI

I am NOT AI

I recently made a short “I’m not AI” video for my story narration channel, and I wanted to explain why.

It wasn’t meant as an attack on technology, or as a grand dramatic stand against the robots marching over the hill with microphones. It was much simpler than that.

I narrate stories ghost stories, classic stories, mystery, horror, life, love, strange little tales from the past and I know that when people choose to listen, they are giving something genuinely valuable: their time.

So I wanted people to know that the voice they are hearing belongs to a real person. A real narrator. Someone choosing the stories, reading them carefully, trying to give them warmth, atmosphere, feeling, and respect.

There are so many AI voices online now that I think listeners can feel unsure about what they are hearing. I didn’t want anyone who spends time with my channel to wonder whether they are listening to a person or a generated voice.

The video was simply my way of saying: yes, it’s me. A real human being, probably with tea nearby, trying to build a little corner of the internet for people who enjoy being read to.

If people are kind enough to invest their time in my stories, then I want to invest my time in finding, reading, and sharing stories that I hope will bring them enjoyment, comfort, curiosity, and a little escape.

That’s really the heart of it. Happy listening and hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

What's your view on AI voices? I know they are getting better but will they ever really replace the human?

"Behold the Desolation of Atlantis" | Ice age Atlantis as written in "Hourglass"

Listen till the end, and the haunting "Promethean Temptation" song is guaranteed to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up! The rest of the audiobook is produced in the same "Odyssey of the Mind" style. And, yes, as you can see and hear, I had a lot of fun bringing my story to life with AI; BUT the words and story are all mine.

US & UK codes available for The Burn Line. Comment your region and I'll send you a code in chat.

Sixteen-year-old Jesse Brooks joins his town’s junior fire program hoping to earn respect—and maybe outrun the shadow of his father’s legacy. But when a sudden wind shift sends the fire jumping the line during a supervised training operation, Jesse is separated from his crew and lost in the mountains with nothing but his instincts and what little gear he carried in.

As the days stretch and the fire closes in behind him, Jesse must rely on more than survival skills. Out here, the hardest battle isn’t against the fire—it’s staying whole when everything else burns. The Burn Line is a gripping, emotionally honest story of survival, identity, and the fight to find your way home.
