Planning for a South Indian Circuit (Aug End)

Hi All,
I have been planning this route for a long time and wanted to take all of your opinions and also ask if someone would like to join me on this ride.

Planning for the last week of August —
start on a Friday night, spend Saturday and Sunday in Pondi, and then go on a temple run 🏃 🤣 starting from Thanjavur, Madurai, Dhanushkodi and Rameshwaram, Kanyakumari, Thiruvananthapuram, and finally Kochi, Kannur, and back to Bangalore.

I have already done multiple solo rides from Bangalore in the last few years in the following order: Chikmagalur, Wayanad, Ooty, Hampi, Badami, Kodaikanal, and Yercaud.

Well, this circuit is very close to me, and for this one I want to go with a group of like-minded individuals, mainly for two reasons:
-To have some backup support if needed and be able to help each other.
-I am done with solo riding now 🥲

Since this is a long trip and would need some leaves and stuff, I was thinking that people who are interested in joining (if any, I have no hope in my luck 😪), we can go on a short ride around Bangalore to get to know each other. Then, if our vibes match and the timings work out, we can plan further 😬😬

PS - I am going to repost this in some other communities just to get some engagement, so please don’t be mad if you see the post again. I had to wait so long to get enough karma to post in groups, while getting jealous of people who could cook up plans from Reddit so easily.🙇🏻🥹🥹

Help me find the Owner

Hey folks, I sold my Apache RTR 200 4V (grey-yellow shade) on OLX back in 2023 here in Jalahalli,Bangalore. I’m hoping to reconnect with the person who bought it,I’d love to buy it back if you’re ever open to selling.

If you’re the current owner or know who might have it, please DM me. Would really appreciate any leads. Thanks!

Good service center for CBR250R near HSR, Bangalore?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a good service center or mechanic for my 2019 Honda CBR250R around HSR Layout or nearby. I'm looking for a place that actually knows the CBR250R well, uses genuine parts, and doesn't push unnecessary replacements.

If you own or have owned a CBR250R, I'd really appreciate your recommendations. Which service center do you trust, and are there any places I should avoid?

Thanks in advance!

Bike recommendations

I am looking for a bike which belongs to the scrambler-ish category.
Price in mind - 2-2.5l for a new one
Lower weight if possible (had a classic 350 so definitely lesser ( significantly if necessary) than that in mind.
Expecting good seating comfort for both driver and pillion. Mostly planning for city usage and very rare longer rides.
I am not a fast driver so don’t really need a high powered bike ( helps with the weight).

Current plans:
Hunter 350 with touring seat
Xsr155 (with after market seating options if any to improve comfort?)
Considered Keeway sr125/250 which looked ideal for my needs but possible parts/service issues - will local servicing/part procurement help here?

Any other recommendations? If none, based on experience, which of the above is the best option?

Given the limited test driving time, I found the experience mostly similar among them (except for higher seating on xsr but manageable).

Harassed by cops at 4 AM in Bangalore. Is this even legal? 🤬

I was heading home around 4 AM in a Rapido auto when two cops on a bike stopped us - full on filmy style. MFs!

I've been in Bangalore for 11 years and can manage basic Kannada, so I asked what was going on. Right from the start, the way the officer spoke to me felt completely unnecessary. Still, I cooperated.

He checked my bag. I'm a guy with long hair, so unfortunately I'm no stranger to being profiled. Fine, whatever.

Then he demanded my phone.

I know they can't just search your phone without due process, but I didn't want things to escalate. I unlocked it and told him, "You tell me what you want to see, and I'll show you." He kept trying to take the phone from my hand, which I refused to allow.

He typed 'weed' to search my chats - found absolutely nothing, and then suddenly told me I had to come to the police station for a blood test.

That's when I lost it.

I immediately called 112 and told the operator I was being harassed. The officer hadn't even identified himself or told me which police station he was from. Soon two more cops arrived.

I stood my ground. I told them I was happy to come for a blood test because, last I checked, taking an auto home at 4 AM isn't a crime. Then they changed their tune and claimed I was "creating a ruckus under the influence."

A few minutes later, after realizing I wasn't backing down, they suddenly switched to, "We're just looking out for your safety."

I told them, "This doesn't look anything like concern for my safety."

And just like that... they let me go. Lehen k bode!!!

No apology. No explanation. Nothing.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Can the police legally demand to search your phone or threaten a blood test without any basis? I'd really like to know what my rights are if this ever happens again.

Looking to buy Svartpilen 401. Please give me advice on how is it compared to its counterparts Duke 390. (detail in desc)

I found Husqvarna bikes super cool and initially wanted to buy Vitpilen 250 but when I went to ask for a price today, the guy said 3L+ stating the prices have increased after July 1st.

So 3L for a 250cc bike was not fair and I am looking to buy Svartpilen 401.

i am not a 'liker' of Duke bikes so I am going for these which have same engine and performance with design difference.

Any previous or present owners please give me advice weather to buy or not and how's the service and parts availability here in bangalore.

(Guerrilla 450 has also crossed my mind but I don't feel I can handle that beast , that would be my second priority)

[WTS/Giveaway] ViaTerra 100% Waterproof Handlebar Bag

Hey everyone,

I'm giving away my ViaTerra 100% Waterproof Handlebar Bag (same model as the one linked).

https://viaterragear.com/collections/handlebar-trailpack/products/100-waterproof-handlebar-bag?variant=45077655027946

Location: Chandapura–Dommasandra Road, Bengaluru
Price: Free
Condition: Excellent / Fully intact

I bought it for a week-long ride because I didn't have a waterproof tank bag at the time, and I wasn't confident in using tank bag rain covers during continuous rain. It served me well throughout the trip. I've since upgraded to a fully waterproof tank bag, so I no longer need this one.

The bag is in fully intact condition and is free to anyone who can make use of it.

Pickup: Please arrange pickup today from the Chandapura–Dommasandra Road area. Rapido Parcel, Porter, or any similar pickup service is preferred. I'm currently out of town, so I won't be available for a face-to-face handover. I'll ask someone at home to hand the bag over to your delivery partner.

If you're interested, send me a DM.

First time riding an RS457, now confused about my first bike. Need advice.

Today I rode an RS457 for the first time. Before this, I'd ridden a scooter or bike maybe 5 times in my entire life.

I ended up touching 120 km/h with a friend riding pillion, and also did 64kms. He's experienced with bikes (though it was his first time on a sport bike), and the ride made me realize I'd been underestimating myself and was scared for no reason.

That said, I'm not taking this as a sign to buy an RS457 as my first bike.

I'm looking for recommendations for a first motorcycle under ₹5 lakh. My use case:

- ~10 km daily commute (office and back)

- Occasional weekend rides (up to ~100 km)

BIG no to Duke 390 R , too aggressive for me

What would you recommend and why?

p.s pic is not mine

Need help- Dealer won’t let me buy insurance outside if I book the bike from Amazon

So KTM 8th mile Bangalore showroom people just told me if you book the bike from Amazon they won’t let me buy bike insurance from outside.

ACKO I’m getting zero dep at 10k while these people charging 15.3k,

They straight up refused to even match ACKO quote or lower it and said they have to earn from this sale.

And RTO + LTT + HSRP they taking 68.6k while Karnataka tax is 18% and if we calculate everything it will come 54k max. Idk what the hell to do with these people.

Please help or suggest any other good ktm showroom please

A random Reddit post led to an unforgettable 3 AM bike ride.

A week ago, I made a post here asking if anyone wanted to join me for a short weekend ride to Bolumalai Fort.
A few people replied in the comments, we connected over DMs, made a WhatsApp group, and planned everything properly. Even though we’d never met in person, everyone was enthusiastic from the start.
At 3:00 AM, we finally met at Hosa Road Metro and began the ride.

What started as a group of strangers from Reddit quickly turned into a bunch of friends who felt like we’d been riding together for years.
What was supposed to be a simple sunrise ride turned into one of the craziest and most memorable rides I’ve ever been on.

There were unexpected detours, rough off-road trails that none of us had planned for, bikes getting stuck, people helping each other through every difficult section, laughing at every small disaster, and somehow making it through together. Nobody was left behind. That sense of unity among people who had only known each other through Reddit and WhatsApp until that morning was honestly the best part of the ride.

After all that, we finally reached the hilltop. Ironically, the one thing we’d all woken up at 3 AM for—the sunrise—never showed up. Rain and thick clouds had other plans.

But honestly, none of us cared by then.
The ride itself had already become the highlight. The conversations, the unexpected off-roading, the teamwork, and the memories we made were worth far more than the sunrise we missed.

It’s crazy how a simple Reddit post can turn into an adventure you’ll remember for years.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined. You guys made the ride what it was.
Definitely a 10/10 experience, and hopefully the first of many more rides together. ❤️🏍️
