Where could I watch the Ulster Rugby Game (Challenge Cup FInal) tomorrow night in San Sebastian?

Hi,

I am travelling to San Sebastian tomorrow for the Champions Cup weekend. Unfortunately we will not make it to BIlboa for the Ulster game on Friday night and I was wondering if there would be a pub in San Sebastian that would show it?

Hi everyone,

I’m Matteo, and I’ve been living in the Basque Country for about 12 years. I’ve been learning Euskera as an adult, and one thing I always found difficult was how to actually learn from real content.

So over the past months I’ve been building a small personal project.

The idea is simple:
– you read real news adapted to your level (A1, A2, B1)
– you can click on unknown words to see the meaning
– save them with one click
– and then practice them later with some games

Basically, trying to turn reading into something more interactive and useful.

The project is completely free and has no ads. It’s still in an early stage and I’m testing things, so I’d really love to get some honest feedback:

– Does this approach make sense to you?
– Would something like this help you learn a language?
– What would you improve?

Why is it harder to find details about the French side of Basque?

I am planning a quick trip (less than 7 days) to Basque in September and I almost only see recommendations from Bilbao to San Sebastian and that's it.

Can you point out the gems on the French side, best way to get there, how long to visit (overnight or just day trip by car?) and anything else that can help in my research. Thank you!

Public transport traveling in Basque country

I'm planning to visit the beautiful Basque Country and wanted to ask the locals how public transportation works there. I'll be staying in Bermeo and need to travel to Gernika, Bentalde, Elantxobe, Lekeitio, and so on. I was wondering if I should tell the driver where I'm going when I board the bus, so he can give me a ticket, or if I need to buy one somewhere in advance. In Moldova, we either buy a ticket at the station in advance and then board, or (if we're not traveling from one station to another), we pay the driver just before we get off. What's the situation in the Basque Country? Is public transportation generally convenient there? Thank you very much!

San Sebastián & Bilbao: Affordable Sitdown Meals?

Hey folks. Hope you're well! I'm looking for some recommendations.

We're off to San Sebastián and Bilbao in late June.

We've done a fair bit of research already, and will of course be doing as many Pintxos spots as possible.

We'd also like to do a couple of prebooked, sit down, more typical evening meals though. No michelin distinctions needed (that's the affordable bit), but some interesting and contemporary takes on Basque cuisine would be awesome.

Thanks in advance!

Chefs working in Michelin Star Restaurants in San Sebastian

Looking for a job for when i come to study there. Any words of advice?

I'm coming to study at a Basque Culinary Center and want a job on the side as well. I have a year of working experience along with some internships. My goal is to learn as much as I can specifically working with meats and fire. I would be coming with a Student Visa in hopes of it converting into a work visa. I do not hold a European Passport.

Kaixo!

I'm coming to Basque country for a cycling tour; taking the train from Bilbao to Biarritz before our tour begins and are hoping to walk from Zumaia to Deba on this travel day. My problem is, I don't know what to do with my luggage during the hike. As far as I know, there are no lockers in the Zumaia train station. Suggestions appreciated :).
