San Seb: Is it still worth it?

Have an upcoming stay in Spain with a few days spare and am contemplating a Basque visit to Donostia/San Seb.

I’ve been twice before, but the last time was in 2016. I loved all the pintxo standards in the old town and Gros then, and managed a few fine dining places such as Azurmendi and Akelare.

For someone who has been recently (and preferably a few times), is it still worth visiting? The crowds of tourists and amount of people shooting content puts me off. I am worried quality has diminished too.

As an alternative, I am thinking a few days in Bilbao instead, exploring their cuisine, and making a day trip to Hondarribia for pintxos and a less hectic take on Basque cuisine. Is that a better shout than queueing in San Seb?

Hi all, visiting Paris at the end of the year and trying to get a sense of what is and isn’t open around this time - mainly for restaurants, cafes and patisseries.

Ibis on meth

This morning I saw a meth head screaming at an Ibis in King George Square. Can we use this as an iconic image for the Olympics, to sum up Brisbane?
