Help, we found a baby bat on the street.

We found a super tiny bat on the street. It's mom was nowhere to be found and it was on the floor, about to be covered by ants. We decided to take him home since all the Wildlife refuges were closed. (It's 2AM, they are open to calls at 8AM )

We put him in a box (with holes) with a warm water bag and the t-shirt that he for some reason clinged on to. We feed him water from a wet cotton Q-tip.

We don't know what else to do for him to make it through the night until we are able to call someone.

Thanks, any advice is welcome.

Captured a bat, planning to release when it gets dark. Anything to do for it now? Details below

Im in central ohio, dont know what kind of bat it is. I have it in a bucket with a cardboard lid, poked some holes in it. I put a cold wet rag inside with him. I know basically nothing about bats. When i saw him on the wall it startled me because i got so close and didnt notice it. When i put him in the bucket he made some noise, but didnt resist at all which make me slightly concerned. It has been very hot recently, so i kinda hope hes just a little overheated and cooling down Inside.

If anyone has any other advice im all ears. I called a friend that knew a little more than i did, they said not to feed it, but having a tiny bit of water is good. But if tonight comes, and this little guy dont want to fly off then i dont know how to help him. Ill do whatever i can, i just am hoping someone here might know the appropriate route to take.

Can send more pictures if needed, just dont have more because i dont want to disturb him during his sleeping hours.

Any advice is welcome. If anybody knows the kind of bat he is that would he cool to know also! But no worries regardless. Its the 4th, so i named him Hotdog.

Thanks for any responses in advance, ill stay watching the comments incase i did something wrong. Not my area of expertise, just trying to help another living being.

Thanks again for your time!

I am from India, south.Any of you failiar with Behaviour of microbats?

Location : India, south.

Yesterday night I was walking in dark in front of my house and felt a small sting, may be slightly milder than a mosquito sting, like by a flea. Didn't notice any other brushing, touching or didn't see a bat or a mark on back of my elbow. But after incident after some time, started thinking what if it was by a

small microbat because days ago I saw insect eating bats in the area and also even though I didn't notice or felt any other touch, but since it was from back, I can't be sure na ? Can this be the case ? I'm in that loop.

I found a bat, possibly injured

I went out to smoke and there were some stray cats batting at it by my patio. I shooed them away but the bat just curled up on the ground. I put a plant pot over it while I googled what to do, then tried to pick it up with a towel but it started crawling around. I got it in the planter without touching it but it crawled out while I was looking up who to call. Now it's just hanging there on the chair, it won't fly away and I'm afraid the cats will come back for it. I left a message at the local wildlife rehab but it's the middle of the night and they probably won't call back until morning.

Cutie lil flying doggo found this morning

They were so scared. We put them into a (open) box outside before leaving and... They're gone now! 🥹

I know it's wrong but I'd have loved to cuddle them.

Four-year-old's Birthday Party

My wee brat had a fun idea for a birthday party, wasn't sure how easily I could pull it off without making it look Halloween-y. She likes Stellaluna and that fruit bat episode of Bluey. I had about a dozen bottle gourds lying around, so they became decor.

Where can I access a call library for the eastern US?

I took the class. I squinted at Kaleidoscope for a while. But I think I just need to actually look at a bunch of bat calls to ever really get good at manual call vetting. Where can I check out a call library? I thought NABat was compiling one, but I can’t seem to find it.
