Does anyone else FEEL bat echolocation when they fly past and you hear their echolocation chirps? I’m often on the balcony when it’s dark and when bats fly past I can hear extremely high frequency “chirps” and the lower back part of my neck has this weird subtle vibration. I can sometimes feel it there a microsecond before hearing them. The feeling only happens in the very back of my neck on my spine.
Unless there’s a pandemic or epidemic or you’re immunocompromised it hurts you more than helps you to sanitize and disinfect every surface you touch all the time or wash your hands. You need to get exposed to germs if you want a healthy immune system especially when growing up. It’s bad for you to live a life void of bacteria and viruses. If you grow up in a bubble with no contact of the outside world, and step out when you turn 20 years old to live a normal life, you’re going to die from the flu or covid or any moderately severe infectious disease. Remember what happened when the americas were discovered…
Edit: stop bringing up unwashed ass please :P I never mentioned it nor do I condone such behavior. It feels like people are using an opposite extreme (yet sadly common) to somehow justify the other extreme. It’s not okay to have unwashed ass, but I don’t think it has to be either that or obsessively removing germs. We can just wash our ass and also allow some exposure to germs in a way that won’t make you sick. Not sanitizing your phone and keyboard every day doesn’t mean you must be reeking of ass xD
I don’t own a car and exclusively use my bike and public transport to move around. I’m really happy I’m able to do this in my country as the infrastructure is quite good for both. The only thing is that I must have some kind of anxiety because whenever I’m riding my bike and I get in a relatively dangerous or upsetting situation caused by cars I immediately enter fight or flight, I start shaking severely, my heart pounds out of my chest,… and it makes it so difficult to navigate around dangerous carbrains.
Just now I was driving my bike and a car speeds beside me and basically pushes me off the road. If I didn’t move right I would’ve probably gotten hit. This was at low speed as we were pulling up to a t junction where we both were turning left. They ended up “passing” me. 100 meters further we had a red light and I stood in front of their car on the designated bike spot we always have so I’m allowed to pass all cars to wait for the light in the very front of the line. I was just shaking so bad and completely in fight or flight. It’s so hard for me to stand up for my space in traffic or flip them off/tell them off for pushing me off the road and driving dangerously.
The thing is this happens anytime I’m in a situation my brain perceives as dangerous or unusual even when I’m not scared at all, I was just amazed at what happened. One time I did almost get hit (was able to brake maybe 3cm before hitting them) and the same thing happens except then I was in real danger and my fight or flight was completely justified, unlike most other encounters where it gets triggered.
Does anyone else struggle with this?
We’ve had a long lasting bad relationship with our downstairs neighbors and recently they’ve started threatening us with physical violence after respectfully asking them to try not to leave trash on the shared property. We’ve received many threats via (voice) messages to harm us. Is this grounds to file a “klacht”? Things are getting out of hand and we feel unsafe with these people here. All other neighbors also have this opinion of them.
EDIT: I also wanted to add they’re already going to court for I think not paying rent for a year and likely refusing to get evicted. Should we just cut our losses with the trash and stuff and leave them alone? They always say to never contact them again but it’s easy for them to litter and do these things and also expect nobody do say anything about it. Especially living in a shared building.
We’ve had a very bad relationship with our downstairs neighbors for many reasons. They leave trash on the front porch and currently for example theres broken ceramic on the floor in front of the door to the building. They play REALLY loud music at night sometimes. First time we moved in there was a fight with a boksbeugel and an ambulance had to take away the victim who was very badly injured, and we did a witness report with police and everything. Last week their car was parked in front of our garage so close that I couldn’t move out our bikes to leave. We tried knocking on their door calling them messaging them everything so we called the police and then they were yelling at us how dare we call the police!!! Now we’ve had a lot of arguments that go something like this:
Me: hey can you please try to keep the music down when it’s this late, it’s making us have a hard time sleeping. (Or can you please try to pick up trash from the front porch)
Them: are you crazy who do you think you are you can’t tell me what to do
All this while yelling through voice messages and adding lots of swearing and name calling. I always try to be respectful and show them I’m not trying to be rude and just want to live somewhere nice. We have a good relationship with all our other neighbors too, and everyone agrees they’re horrible people.
Now today I once again asked them nicely to pay attention to trash (tissues, cigarette butts,…) laying in front of the door and front porch. I also asked her if she had seen the packages we ordered and got delivered but got stolen (never happened here before). She proceeded to send me multiple voice messages threatening to “break my and my girlfriend’s face” etc.
They’re getting evicted and going to court but it could take many months until they leave. Is this grounds to file a “klacht” and hopefully get them into legal trouble?
They’re so toxic it makes me almost think maybe I’m doing something wrong? I haven’t cleaned the hallway in a little while despite it being my turn which I’ve apologised to her for and told her that I’ll do it soon. She just uses that against me like it justifies her threatening behavior. What’s wrong with being respectful and communicating normally?

there is a steel factory above and the coal is being delivered through tractor. im happy with the water piping coming cleanly from the second floor where i built a buffer acting as a water tower too.
It shouldn’t be accepted that people who have a penis, pee when standing up at a regular toilet. I’m a guy who has been taught since I was a child that I should sit down, I’ve done it my entire life and never had any problems with it. Why do seemingly so few people do this? Instead they pee standing up and get their pee everywhere like the toilet seat and especially the floor in front. I just don’t understand how disrespectful these people are with their mess and expect the next person to deal with their disgusting spills. At least learn to clean up after yourself, you’re a grown adult, not a toddler. Sorry for this rant but my work bathroom always has pee drops on the floor and it makes me so mad I might start putting up passive aggressive notes inside the bathroom.
This, to me, is a very iffy practice. GDPR compliant yet pushing users to choose not to practice their right to not share this data. This option introduces unskippable ad breaks while scrolling and while watching reels, making the user experience worse. I don’t agree that this should be allowed, as there’s no way to define what amount user experience is allowed to get sacrificed before the app is no longer GDPR compliant given the users choosing to not share data can’t use the app if this tactic goes further than just ad breaks.
