Professional Work Bag

I have found that while Patagonia makes excellent quality and sustainable products, they don't have everything I might need. I find it surprising that they don't have a professional line of work bags. The backpacks are great but when it comes to a messenger bag that could be used for the office, that looks professional, they just don't have it in their lineup.

This led me to look elsewhere, such as the usual suspects Tumi, Filson, etc. Ultimately, I found this Aussie company called Bellroy. I love their minimalist designs with a focus on sustainability. In particular, I got the Tokyo Work Bag and I could not recommend it more highly.

While shopping around the website I came across a word from one of their founders, . . . I guess they also feel the same way. Patagonia has had quite the impact on the fashion world. Heroes of Design

Venture 6l or 9l

Good morning,

I hesitate for the size of the venture between 6 and 9l

It would be mainly to put my water bottle whose dimensions are as follows 7.24 cm / 2.85 x 28.32 cm / 11.15 ».

As well as the usual little bazaar, headphone key, Leatherman

Out of office, meet the mods, and what to do in Tokyo?

Hey everyone! As of next week, I’ll be out of office until mid June, so you’ll be hearing more from my fellow mods while I’m gone.

Meet u/CallieFromBellroy and u/JayFromBellroy 👋 They’re likely to pop up with their own insights here and there, but feel free to ask/ tag them in any burning questions.

In the meantime, I’m off to Tokyo with a half empty (or half full) Transit Check-in (for records, ceramics, Japanese snacks and trinkets), and a Lite Duffel for any additional carry-on I'll likely accrue along the way. It isn't my first time in Tokyo, but there's so much to see and do, I'd love to hear your recommendations \:)

Any plans for a Check-in Softshell suitcase?

Are there any plans for a soft shell version of the check-in suitcase? Would love to see a 90-100L version of the softshell!!

My problem:

  • 2 keys and 6 cards
  • carry keys inside my wallet and with a closure or a retention cord so I dont lose keys
  • thin, water-resistent
  • everything should be easily accessible.

It's not easy to find a wallet that does this though. After a couple month of use I can conclude that FlipCase does this job perfectly with a little tweak.

About the wallet:

  • 2-card quick-access slot and 8-card slot (or 6-card with a bank note, there is a divider, see image)
  • magnetic closure, so relatively water-resistent

About the keys:

Basically, I use the quick access slot to keep my 2 keys.

The coin on the right side does 2 things:

  1. it keeps keys from moving around in the quick access slot
  2. it keeps some emergency floss

I advice against keeping more then 2 keys in the quick access card slot. The third key would be placed on where the coin is, and it would be hard to dig that out.

About the cards:

I only have a credit card and a gym key that I use daily, so I keep one on the top of the stack, relatively easy to use my thumb to swipe it out; the other on the other side of divider. As shown in image.
