Went to a large collectors store today, and I spotted a seller display selling Ga Matoran Idris. Given that there was a 15% off sale going on I bought her for $97, and the original price was $104. I know how exclusive her Ruru is so I am very happy to have her in my collection.
mostly slizer/robo rider parts and like 4-5 sets. I dont have many technic parts that would allow for more creative connection. I also used all 2 joint balls I had. spray paint base coat with brushing after.
A nice side by side of some of my favorite glow in the dark batches
If you were given full authority over the 2010 sets and story, knowing it would probably be the final year of Bionicle, how would you have done it? You're given the full budget of previous years, so you can have the same number of sets as usual if you want, but you have to make sure the sets are relevant to the story.
For the story, I would make sure Ackar, Kiina, Gresh, and Berix all play a major role, and ensure a massive Toa crossover battle. The Toa Nuva, Toa Mahri, Toa Hagah, and maybe even the Turaga return to their Toa Metru forms. I don't have the nitty gritty details, but I think I would have Ackar and co. somehow distract or weaken Makuta's Great Spirit Robot body while the many, many Toa hold off Makuta's forces so the Bara Magnans can do their thing. Every Toa team would have a moment to shine, and maybe even make an uneasy alliance with the Skrall to fend off Makuta's invasion. Meanwhile Ackar and co. either infiltrate Makuta's brain (Metru Nui) or his core (Karda Nui), or they find a weakness or weapon the Great Beings left behind just in case their Great Spirit Robot ever turned on them. This slows Makuta down just enough for Mata Nui to slam him into the moon just like the original story.
However, Makuta doesn't die instantly. I'm kinda stealing this from youtuber Noah Greenspan, but I've always had a similar headcanon too. As Makuta is dying, he and Mata Nui have one final exchange of words, where Makuta mocks Mata Nui for being a god-like tyrant who has just won his throne back. Mata Nui says something to the effect that the inhabitants of the Matoran Universe and Bara Magna have proven they don't need him any more, so he'll be fading away just as he does in the original story.
I'm not saying this is the best idea ever, but I think it's better than what we got.
For sets, I'm honestly not sure what works best since there are no new major characters or character transformations. With this being the final year of a ten-year saga, I'd probably do revamps of a character from each year or something like that, similar to the Bionicle Stars but the size of typical canister sets. I'm thinking Toa Tahu, a Rahkshi, Turaga Ahkmou, a Toa Hagah, and a couple Bara Magna characters (I think Gresh and Skrall are fine, but since they just got canister sets I'd like to mix it up, but not sure with whom). For Titans, I think a snake-version of Metus could work, a field commander for Makuta's forces like Nektann, and maybe an Order of Mata Nui member like Toa Helryx. You could also swap Turaga Ahkmou and Netkann in terms of which is a canister set and which is a Titan, but I prefer this way personally.
Again, this probably isn't the best idea ever imagined, but it's what my mind came up with.
Today will be the most complicated day; you chose the torso, the torso color, and the eye color. Tip: the more specific you are with the colors, the better.
My wife and I are moving to a new apartment from the one we've been in for the last 6 years, and I wanted to commemorate my collection thus far. I've reassembled a lot of my old collection from childhood since we've lived in this apartment. I offered to put my bonks in the office in our new place, but she's giving me the entire bookshelf to show them off (and we're getting her more bookshelves for all her books). She still wants them to be shown off in the new place!
Best part is I got more MOCs I've made in boxes that I have yet to put on display cause we don't have the space right now, but we will at the new place!
edit: also I apologize; my phone camera quality is kinda shit.
Single stud, brown body sphere, with “Mata Nui” printed on one side, and a map printed on the other. Probably would be from a set released 2001-2010.
Need to catch up on posting my latest projects
This one is one is probably my favorite red/white combo so far - went “blood and bones” kind of look with a translucent blood red and a pearl white with lots of glow powder added to it
My imagination, wondering if it would be possible to reinterpret the Mata/Nuva torso in an Inika style using only existing parts, while still retaining its gear function, led me here.
Used only parts in officially available colors, so 100% buildable.
First image is the photoshop, second is the original model I made. Hope you enjoy!
I rebuilt my destroyed moc Omega. This time he’s silver.

Built for Bio Cup G1 Gauntlet
"And even though most have forgotten the times of past, some lived in the olden days still. Prophets, they called themselves, people of the Matoran Universe speaking of the oncoming horrors. Most inhabitants refused to believe Teridax would, or for the matter of fact could return from his fall. But after a thousand years, the world started to change around them: natural disasters, portals opening up, raids and plundering. Most would not see the connections, even after those things started to descend from the skies. Six legs, a towering figure... They didn't quite resemble anything seen before. The worst was the uncaringness of the creatures, if we can call that them. Never blinking eyes, and all they ever did was drilling the grounds. What could they possibly want from us?"
My entry for the G1 Gauntlet of Bio Cup. The build was originally going to be a centaur like knight, but halfway the overpicture of the build didn't make sense, and I rebuilt it into a virus like creature.
