Tips for Young sailor starting with a friend

Hello Admirals,

First of all, I am sorry for any mistakes I would make as I am not a native english speaker.

I would like to try this game for the first time and came here for some advise. My situation is as follows:

Me and a friend (we both love History, and I have been sailing all my life) would like to step a foot in this nice game. I saw the community is not very big, specially in Spain, so i thought it may be a good idea to ask first here.

Our idea is to start buying the Master & Commander Box and share the ships between we both. So my first questions come here:

Is it a good starting point?

Are the ships included supposed to be English and French? Or can we chose other nations?

How would you share the ships between two people? Is this indicated in the box?

Would you buy something else apart from this box?

Note that we come from collecting and playing Warhammer already, so we got some modeling and painting tools and know how to use them (more or less).

Can this be applied entirely to Black Seas?

Should we add or learn more things? Apart from what's already present in the manual.

Also it is possible that a third friend joins us. So in this case the questions would be:

Will we have enough with the starting box? Or we should buy something more?

I am sure I will have more questions in the future, but I don't want to annoy with a huge text and I am sure many people here will know how to guide us.

So, sorry for this long post, hope I can get some advise and thank you very much for your attention!

First frigate!

My father is into model ships, and I am into wargames. So I bought the master and commander set to do something we both enjoy.

Rigging took a while but its quite meditative. The box didnt come with American flags so I will add those later. Quite happy for my first ship!

Two more vessels float out of the dry dock, a British Frigate and a French Brig. More sailing ships from @warlordgames sent to me by Simon. #Napoleonic #navalwargaming #theFullNelson #wargaming
